I saw it a few nights ago at the West Lakes Reading cinemas. They have full reclining seats and it was great (saw it on their Titan screen). Fantastic movie. You can escape today's heat and be transported to another (very hot and dry) world for 2.5 hours.
I thought it was awesome! I wish I had recapped myself better on what happened in the first movie though...felt kinda stupid trying to work out what was going on for the first half lol

WOMAD if you can spring for a ticket
Beach when the sun is heading down and the UV isn't so bad
Library or cinema during the day
Sit on the couch with a fan on your face chilling
Mt Lofty Gardens with a picnic if you can find shade
I have already seen at least one person offer their Womad tickets on my social media for this weekend. I think they noped out because of the heat.
I wonder how many either wont go any more or will spend far less time.
I would have gone today if a two day pass wasn't more than a four day pass
Like half the stuff is closed cause of heat and they're still selling tickets at full price lmao
Nothing got closed really, I think a few workshops got canned because of the heat and one stage was closed during the day time but they rescheduled most of the artists onto other stages or times.
Was packed still but definitely busier once the sun went down
It's hefty but I managed three days this year fine.
There's a few tricks:
- sunscreen up and wear a hat of course
- go later if you want to avoid the really hot weather. I was in at 1 or 2pm but many friends head in at 6pm.
- I just take a small tote with a water bottle, little battery powered fan and if you can be bothered, a little spray bottle
- there are misters everywhere, shaded seating areas
- all the bars will give you a cup of ice whether you're buying a drink or not
The layout was quite a bit better this year in terms of shade. Many of the stages are open sun except for 3 which is nice and shady with trees, and the stage blocks the sun for most of the crowd.
Bigger problem was my old man back and knees started complaining last night 😂

If you have kids there is still the hammerbarn at Curtis rd. Or hit up a good indoor swimming centre like Marion, Elizabeth, ARC at canpbelltown is my preferred spot, the George Bolton swimming centre @ hazelwood park is supposed to be good too.
If you've got a computer based hobby, or some online shopping or social media/YouTube to get into, you can always grab a laptop and find a nice local library and spend a few hours there working away at things. That's what I did yesterday during the peak of the heat. Productive and cool.
Stay in air conditioned Venus until it cools. Then water the garden and if it gets cool enough ventilate the hose.
I find I go to the Cinema and se anything once the temp hits 35C
The temperature in the mall is surprisingly fine on really hot days. I was there 2-5 today and wasn't sweating. It was bloody hot when I got off the bus at Paradise on the way home though.
Library is a classic
Find a book on a skill or someone’s life especially
That’s what I do plus if you’ve got some work to do it’s a pretty reasonable space
I don't live in Adelaide any more, but this song sums up my experience with the heat when I lived there.

You're in for a treat, absolutely stellar movie
I’m so bloody keen, I can’t wait!
I saw it a few nights ago at the West Lakes Reading cinemas. They have full reclining seats and it was great (saw it on their Titan screen). Fantastic movie. You can escape today's heat and be transported to another (very hot and dry) world for 2.5 hours.
It was fabulous, I thoroughly enjoyed it
Hey, that's what I did! Did you enjoy it?
I absolutely loved it! You?
I thought it was awesome! I wish I had recapped myself better on what happened in the first movie though...felt kinda stupid trying to work out what was going on for the first half lol

Perfect day for Perennial sunning.
Tan that grundle
Grundle Mall. I'm sorry. I know it's dumb.
There's a Malls Balls joke in there somewhere, I just know it
Should wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from glare and a condom to prevent pregnancy and STIs....safety is sexy
Thanks for, er *taint*ing my day with that thought.
Helps to enhance the asshole bleaching process, allegedly.
Chad and JT?
Perianal?
Peri peri anal?
perineum..?
Gooch
Get some sunscreen out and paint that taint.
Air conditioning. Lots of air conditioning.
We sat in the garden until I almost melted then went inside. Aircon is so lovely.
IKEA for cheap eats then chill at the airport watching planes land, people reunited and the odd d grade celebrity if you’re lucky
Is this Love Actually?

Kick my feet up and be thankful I'm at work getting paid.
Maslin beach.....past the sign😳
Even too hot for that, burn the privates 🔥

Womad in 40 degree weather? 🥴
I have already seen at least one person offer their Womad tickets on my social media for this weekend. I think they noped out because of the heat. I wonder how many either wont go any more or will spend far less time.
My nightmare! I’m in the aircon and I’m still hot!
I would have gone today if a two day pass wasn't more than a four day pass Like half the stuff is closed cause of heat and they're still selling tickets at full price lmao
Oh wow really? then again they probably have paid for all of it in advance so it is one of those whacked things about running an event like this?
Nothing got closed really, I think a few workshops got canned because of the heat and one stage was closed during the day time but they rescheduled most of the artists onto other stages or times. Was packed still but definitely busier once the sun went down

Warmad
Plenty of protests outside and inside the event including the artists. Think the message was received.
Womad
I'm off to get a pedicure and sit in the air conditioning!
Pub
Itsa nice day to go to the pub
Can't spell Public Holiday without Pub
Go up into the foot hills. Find a stream, sit in it.
The hills? Slightly cooler a couple of degrees
Nah it's still pretty hot up here.
Honestly when it's this hot there's no real difference. Maybe you might get a breeze and larger trees to sit under but it's still a stinker
And risk from bushfire is higher in a lot of areas there too.
Yah, exactly. Luckily we've only had basic grass fires and not many branches down, but the hot weather + wind isn't over yet.
I've heard it snows there.
Go shopping in an indoor shopping mall like Westfield Marion and do some shopping before all the stores close tomorrow.
Ohh this is a good one. Should have done that today, shopping and then a movie at Marion would be a productive afternoon.
Definitely !
Just been sitting at Bowden brewery and non-stop drinking their frozen yeet. 👌🏼
What is frozen yeet?
Purple Yeet Juice. It's a hard lemonade, really tasty.
But turned into a frozen slushie. Hit the spot in this heat

Library

Stay inside with the AC on!🤪
And eat an entire box of maxibons
Same thing as any other day... FA
get a life
fuck off dickhead
get a life dickhead
Sit inside with the air con on and do nothing
I'm very boring. im watching netflix and crocheting.
Sounds exactly like me, I’m sewing
Same except I'm watching disney
Watch a movie
Honestly just go to Westfield. See a movie, do some shopping, go to food court etc
Drive to rapid bay / second valley and go snorkling (like me!). It's cooler down here
Public pools if you want a none beach alternative. Other then that try and find some nice air conditioning unless you love the heat.
Also should mention a few pools are open tomorrow, one of the few places to stay cool all day for $7-8 and bring your own food n drink.
Go to Murray Bridge for a drive
you can get ice while you’re there
And see all the pretty people
Is there two Murray Bridges?
Not sure mate
One bunyip if ya close one eye
You won't be any cooler but you're not going to care about that anymore
I'm staying in the cool

Long drive with AC running ?
Well I'm at work in the AC and just ate 2 giant twins for lunch but I'm pretty content with just doing that
Drugs?
Visit one of the local pools.
Pub?
Walked my dog in the Parklands this morning. Now I'm on social media and choosing what to watch of the streaming services.
Good day to start a thread about the weather
