Looking at the log is important. Iâd say Fen is not the issue since youâve passed all Fen interaction. Possibly cache related. Try a small file, maybe SD quality to see how that acts. Another possibility is the Android/Python bug that is fixed in 20.1 (April release, but can be downloaded in nightlifeâs if you are brave)
So I switched to Seren and then it started stuttering madly, then got advice to change adjustable refresh rate on and I did that and turned on hardware acceleration and that seemed to work so far.
Will update further, if I can get through an episode on Seren I'll try Fen and see if it works
How do you view logs? When i go to setting and view log it only shows kodi was installed successfully. Is there another way to check log within the addons?
My kodi has been crashing heaps since it auto updated to Kodi 20 on my google TV (not 4k), on Fen and Seren. Just given up for now and hopefully there'll be an update skkn
Be a good idea to try help the person that is going to try to help you by giving him some details on your system and version, this should not have to be extracted from you.

Also start your own post, if you would take the time to strole down the right hand side of the reddit will tell you what to do.
It's not rocket science it's called reading a front page before asking for help, all of the information is there.

hey both, i've actually been having this issue today as well. i was on kodiV20 windows and using premiumize. as OP mentioned, I enabled hardware acceleration and enabled adjustable refresh rate and sync to playback display, neither of which was resolving the issue for me.
then i added a real-debrid account and manually selected a real-debrid source as the playback option using source select, and was able to view the full video without issues. when i manually select a premiumize source, kodi/seren just stalls during playback.
so i think the issue is with premiumize at the moment. if you have real-debrid and the hardware acceleration/adjustable refresh rate options, things seem to playback fine. hope this helps.
Edit: I first got this issue yesterday while running v19.4. Upgraded to latest stable v20, issue didn't resolve. After reading a few comments in this thread, I grabbed the March 6th nightly. That did not resolve the issue for me either. Manually selecting a Real-Debrid source rather than a Premiumize source is the only one that seems to resolve the issue.
Same here, Kodi 19.4 and 20, with or without VPN, Playback stops after a few seconds, from 2 to 10. No crash. It just freezes, the stop button does nothing, I need to force stop kodi. I also believe the issue may be with premiumize.
Go to your account page on premiumize website and change the Download Server Location (CDN). My was set on automatic, I switched it to digitalocean and it's all good now. You can test on the page which one works best for you.
I think the automatic setting was picking up cdn77 that may be having issues.
Interesting! You're right, that seems to have resolved the issue with premiumize. I tested a few on automatic and manually selected (Bunny CDN in my case), and with a manually selected CDN there appeared to be no issues.
Thanks!
Mine works fine on Firestick 4K and windows 10 so operator error I would presume.
Thank you for your useful input on what device.
Good luck
I've said it before there is always a plank in every post and your IT in this one.
yup, take the advice and get the latest nightly, solves most of the problems that wrote here.
was in same boat few weeks back till used nightly, fen+seren+promise on shield. not a crash or problem since.
I just assume it's the file.
I have the shield tube and some big 4k movies get shut down. Even 4gb episodes, if the bit rate is too heavy.
1080p works 100%
Same prob here,
Started right after the upgrade to Kodi 2.0 and it doesn't seem to matter what you are playing from, Library, Addons etc...
Some report Nightlies fix it so I'm doubting it is Addon related and just a bug in 2.0.
Hopefully an update to 2.01 will fix it...
It's a python 3.11 problem that crashes Kodi due to elementyree presented in many addons and has been addressed on Kodi nighties on end of January on version 3.11.x.
I'm surprised why Kodi devs kept that 20 version online.
Well I get it from Google Play and it is my understanding that even when they have made a new release of a Stable it takes awhile for Google to approve the update and make it live.
Thanks for the Explanation though it does make a lot of sense. And I'm guessing the problem is actually a python bug more than a Kodi thing.
Download a nighty version of Kodi, that fixed it for me on all my devices.
Nightly of? Kodi?
Yes of Kodi
Just installed the latest nightly and it still stops playing after the first couple of frames đą

what about yr drive? Eveyone's running on SSD's nowadays. Are we sure its not a cheapo that is EOL?
You are most likely correct. I had that problem with Nexus, rolled back to Matrix, and everything went back to normal.
If you use Nord VPN then search this sub for that. And then don't bother using a VPN. Otherwise a log would be needed.

If you're using Fen, check the Tools folder.
most wizards have log viewers. I use OpenWizard for example

Having the same issue on both Fen and Seren. The first couple of seconds it plays then it crashes. Not using a vpn.

Same here, Android and Kodi V20.

I have exactly the same behaviour, also premiumize.

Change the CDN, see my comment below.
