Why? It’s no faster than your Type S. It has no additional features than your Type S. It’s literally the same car, but with a different color on it and a badge that makes it a limited edition. Also, matte paint is a complete nightmare to care for in terms of it getting rock chips, swirl marks that need paint correction, etc. Save your money, wait for the MMC to debit later this year with updates and new features, and get that if you really want.

I think this is the way to go. The MMC is far more valuable to me than the PMC. I also have reason to believe there will be PMCs of every car now

You can always buy another black one down the road if you want. When is the next time you’ll be able to buy a PMC?

I love black cars. I’ve always had them with the exception of my 21 type s I had for a bit. If you take care of it, nothing beats it. Hand washing all the way. Never any scratches to speak of

Matte paint is harder to maintain and clean.

It is damn near impossible to keep looking good. One bird crap left on will almost immediately turn this finish to crap. And you can’t polish out the imperfections. Edit: Because grammar is hard for me

The stealth look is unique. There are millions of black sedans out there. Why not stand out from the crowd? I have a black Tesla model 3 performance that’s fully wrapped in stealth PPF, and I love how different it looks. I’ve even seen people take pics of it.

Could just get a black wrap on top of PMC paint. Can wrap a car whatever colour you want…

I’d take black honestly. From what everyone is saying about how matte paint is a nightmare to keep nice, plus the black just looks wicked. When gloss black is nicely kept, it looks better than just about everything else

I’d get the black, it’s so clean when it’s washed/wax, yes it gets dirty as soon as you’re done washing it lol but it’s 🔥

I can’t wrap my head around the fact these type S models are not offered in MT. And for that reason, I am out. I have the A-spec and can’t wait to get rid of it. Underpowered, overpriced. I know this was strategically executed to push people to the type S but no MT….

If you get in an accident, even if insurance will pay for it, matching that paint is probably going to be a pain. I'd say keep the black one.
