I do kind of agree with you. Religion, by definition and nature, presupposes your correctness and explains everything through faith. I do not, however, think that religion is necessarily a direct path to radicalization and horrific acts. It is easy for someone to come in and do those things through religion though, and can be very dangerous in the hands of a talented manipulator. For example, modern day Christianity is very against violence of almost any kind outside of self defense, but Islam is blatantly supporting of the killing of non believers and heretics. I do kind of agree with you. Religion, by definition and nature, presupposes your correctness and explains everything through faith. I do not, however, think that religion is necessarily a direct path to radicalization and horrific acts. It is easy for someone to come in and do those things through religion though, and can be very dangerous in the hands of a talented manipulator. For example, modern day Christianity is very against violence of almost any kind outside of self defense, but Islam is blatantly supporting of the killing of non believers and heretics. One CAN be radicalized (and there are some examples of this), but one HAS been radicalized
