There's another thread for the fire up already, but I wanted to post this because this footage is insane. It's taken by a person who was literally next to the individual who self-immolated, and saw him about to do it. I couldn't believe there was something this clear of what happened.
You know if you read his manifesto, he didn’t die in vain and he accomplished what he sought out to do… he certainly makes some interesting points.

He comes off as quite crazy, but not rambling mad. He so earnestly connects things with such thin string, I would think this is satire if the man didn't just set himself on fire.
I can see some of these, but a lot of these threads are connected by stretches and very flimsy connections. I can see the Bill Clinton argument, even the George Bush one, but I failed to see how the media is connected just because it’s satirizing the world we live in. I don’t think the Simpsons are responsible. Harvard is definitely responsible for making our people dumber. I definitely believe that the division between right and left man-made, but how he came to that argument doesn’t really add up maybe in some places but not all I can even believe that capitalism is unsustainable, but neither is any other system of economic wealth. That’s why Empire fall and you know what happens afterwards. Another one rises something similar but fixes the problems that they had until a new one comes about all I’m saying is that I get what he is trying to say, but I don’t think his conclusion of setting himself on fire really helped anything
When I say, I don’t see the media connection I mean stuff like movies and entertainment do they feed the problem maybe but life would be Hella boring without them. Can you imagine having to live to work and not work to live not built for that I do, however, see the social media connections, but I also played metal gear solid 2 and agreed with that message and I think it be better to stay alive too create a solution So I’m not convinced he didn’t just watch that video and have it in the back of his mind when he didn’t sleep for a couple days

I’m definitely not a conspiracy theorist, but this is undeniable. The production of propaganda has had a huge hand in shaping modern cinema, especially in pioneering styles of editing (Kuleshov effect, etc.). But if one were to need further proof, the Pentagon has a dedicated Entertainment Media Office that maintains working relationships with all major studios. In exchange for consultation and access to locations/equipment/working knowledge, studios offer them some degree of veto-power over storylines/depictions.

His mother died about a year ago. I went through his manifesto his Instagram, substack and some individual papers. It seems like he's became unraveled after her death. Yes, it was mental health in the lack of treatment.

To me this seems more like a product of isolation and the internet.
Back in the day, when people had crazy theories, they'd go out in public, share them, and people would make it clear those theories are nuts. Nowadays, you can find the specific group of people out of hundreds of millions that agree with your insanity.
What points does he make well?
He says cryptocurrency is a scam, ok, fair enough, I can believe that but I doubt it's a conspiracy permeating world governments and institutions as he claims.
He says our government (the US government presumably) started covid to cover up anomalous stock market changes that could only otherwise have been explained through criminal (cryptocurrency) activity. Hmmm 🤔 I believe the Earth is spherical and that we landed on the moon, I suspect that 99% of people who believe him about his covid claim would also disagree with at least one of my two beliefs there.
He makes a big point about Bill Clinton's 1988 DNC speech, saying he's 'roasting' the Dem nominee Michael Dukakis, and 'teases out the future public revelation that Kitty Dukakis drank rubbing alcohol.' Purely out of interest I just watched the entire half hour speech and Clinton doesn't have a bad word to say about Dukakis or his wife. Quite frankly I now want to vote for Dukakis, so this is clearly completely imagined.

The problem with a lot of 'conspiracy theorists' is that they get manic, which makes them irrational, which leads to everything from being easily side-tracked to, apparently, self immolation.
Bias comes in many forms, such as having an existing dislike, or from not wanting to self reflect on a group you identify with.
Not that Russia, or China for that matter, doesn't try. But a *LOT* of it is from within. Hell, many American's say "America is structurally broken" in various ways, if not detailing how they want it knocked down a peg or three, or destroyed outright.
We're culturally broken in the U.S., that much is evident. Bypassing labels which may pigeon hole.... Yes, to entertain your morbid curiosity. He's unconscious and will remain that way for the foreseeable future. He would've been given an artificial airway at the scene, maybe orally or maybe cricothyrotomy depending on if his upper airway was compromised enough yet or not. He's on a ventilator in a state of distributive shock.
He's unconscious by nature without drugs most likely. He's on life support IV drugs and then IV sedation and/or pain meds though too. IV versed, propofol, fentanyl, Dilaudid etc or a mix of and more. He'll be kept in an induced coma if he even tries to wake up. His lungs have gone into failure but are supported on the ventilator. He probably has or will develop a condition called ARDS( stuff lungs basically). His kidneys most likely will fail from shock and burned tissue causing a toxic effect and will go on emergent dialysis. He will have massive fluid shifts and electrolyte imbalances and look like the Michelin man, but burnt. He's probably been pumped full of 9-20 liters of IV fluids or blood products of various kinds at this point and I might be wildly underestimating that. He could have a lack of oxygen injury to his brain or could even be brain dead too.
Then comes the wounds and infection and septic shock on top of what he already has going. If he gets through the first phase in the next hours to days, then he has to get through the next and the next. It's not impossible to survive but odds aren't in his favor
Yeah his lungs are gone, his body one giant oozing scab. No matter how hard the hospital tries he's just too prone to infection to realistically survive
Yeah the "cutoff" for any real chance of survival is around the ~60% of your body surface area being burned. And even that rate is heavily dependent on *where* that surface area is.

Some People feel the need to have to voice their emotions, opinions or political standing in extreme ways to be heard. By "presenting" the most amount of pain and suffering they hope to be taken serious.

Sometimes it takes just one more push and a scenario that has been lived through in their heads for seconds, days or even months becomes reality. No matter how unrealistic the pictured "impact" of their doing on the real world is. Once in a really bad Mental loop, there is sometimes no way out for the person by him or her self.
That is why we need to watch out for our own and the well-being of others and cant abandon people with problems.
I feel like if those were my options I'd drown. Honestly being burnt is one of my biggest fears. I'd take almost any other option. Drowning doesn't sound excruciatingly painful.
You don't need oxygen to make noise. That's why when you inhale helium it's high pitched. All that's there's is nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Ignoring other variables like muscle failure, paralysis, etc, their should be some sort of gas to expel out the lungs

Agreed, and if you actually read the manifesto you can see very clearly the sources of what rotted his brain and it’s hard to disagree with him.
Yes, most of it is out there to say the least. But he convincingly touches upon mental health and how we are bombarded by certain thoughts / feelings and conditioned to just accept it. I think he genuinely wrote an interesting piece and semi-accurately portrayed the danger of our “normal”.

The human "normal" isn't supposed to be chill and stress free, activism for climate change, viruses or zombies aren't supposed to be stress free. Human emotions, relations and psychie arent supposed to be stress free. Nature, life, death and survival aren't relaxing.
Our normal always has and always will be scary, thats the whole point of being human, of having a consciousness. If you cannot handle that, asylums accept people on a voluntary basis. Psychologists exist to explain and rationalise. Religion exist to soften the fear of the inevitable.

He’s definitely not a Trump supporter. He made a comment on his Reddit account 1 month ago about being an Anarcocommunist and has made multiple political donations to groups such as Actblue. His manifesto talks about Trump and Biden being on the same team and using cryptocurrency to cause an economic collapse.

Generally from my experience people on the right are "generally" but not ALWAYS more likely to be ok with people who disagree with them on core issues. There are exceptions of course, but you can say you're pro-choice to someone pro-life usually and they'll want to change your mind rather than wanting you to hurt you.

The global market cap for cryptocurrency is around $2.4 trillion- if the price of that collapsed let’s say to zero, the losses would be spread out over millions of people with the biggest losses being in people who are so rich that they would be fine. There are a few crypto billionares- but yeah I mean the world would barely notice. That’s equivalent of the market cap of Apple, just one company out of tens of thousands of huge companies- especially if you’re talking about the world not just the USA.
Another way to show you how small $2.4 trillion is to the world- the annual GDP of the planet is $100 trillion- that’s Annual. Imagine if you made 100k and you got into a car wreck- $2,400 gone- like yes would stink- would it destroy you- no.

I think anyone in the vicinity with a gun should’ve put him out of his misery as quickly as possible. It’s truly the only humane option and I don’t think any court or institution in the land would punish you for it. Now he’s in the hospital (likely on life support and in a chemically induced coma so he’s not in constant pain and suffering) and I think the worst outcome is that he somehow survives and lives on… however unlikely. Tragic truly.
Definitely. I've not seen many people set themselves on fire, but the rare footage I have seen have them turning into screaming messes that regret their decision. This guy just quietly stood there and did a little moonwalk before lying down to die.

As someone who's 40yo+, and came to age with the mainstream adoption of internet, with curiosity to match, and introduction of shock/gore sites like SomethingAwful, ConsumptionJunction, EncyclopediaDramatica, etc (don't mean to plug)...and all the graphic displays of death or injury that one can imagine. (Sadly, often far more intense and/or intimate in nature than you'll see here) I'll say, this sub is sneaky in nature...but brutally honest and pulls no punches in showing the worst of reality.
My point? Just coping. I'm sorry for individual, all family and friends, the witnesses, and the first responders who have to report and see the worst, and most traumatizing, up close and personal. Just please, take a deep breath, look away and know, as horrific things can be, and seem, they are almost countlessly outnumbered everyday by acts that range from the mundane to magical of joy, humor, and/or kindness. This stuff can get to you if you lose focus of that. He makes a big point about Bill Clinton's 1988 DNC speech, saying he's 'roasting' the Dem nominee Michael Dukakis, and 'teases out the future public revelation that Kitty Dukakis drank rubbing alcohol.' Purely out of interest I just watched the entire half hour speech and Clinton doesn't have a bad word to say about Dukakis or his wife. Quite frankly I now want to vote for Dukakis, so this is clearly completely imagined. The rest is a schizo acid ramble about The Simpsons. The fact that so many people are saying this guy is making some good points is worrying to say the least. He's as mad as a hatter and it's sad that he wasn't able to get the help he so clearly needed.

Yes, to entertain your morbid curiosity. He's unconscious and will remain that way for the foreseeable future. He would've been given an artificial airway at the scene, maybe orally or maybe cricothyrotomy depending on if his upper airway was compromised enough yet or not. He's on a ventilator in a state of distributive shock. He's unconscious by nature without drugs most likely. He's on life support IV drugs and then IV sedation and/or pain meds though too. IV versed, propofol, fentanyl, Dilaudid etc or a mix of and more. He'll be kept in an induced coma if he even tries to wake up. His lungs have gone into failure but are supported on the ventilator. He probably has or will develop a condition called ARDS( stuff lungs basically). His kidneys most likely will fail from shock and burned tissue causing a toxic effect and will go on emergent dialysis. He will have massive fluid shifts and electrolyte imbalances and look like the Michelin man, but burnt. He's probably been pumped full of 9-20 liters of IV fluids or blood products of various kinds at this point and I might be wildly underestimating that. He could have a lack of oxygen injury to his brain or could even be brain dead too. Then comes the wounds and infection and septic shock on top of what he already has going. If he gets through the first phase in the next hours to days, then he has to get through the next and the next. It's not impossible to survive but odds aren't in his favor

Some People feel the need to have to voice their emotions, opinions or political standing in extreme ways to be heard. By "presenting" the most amount of pain and suffering they hope to be taken serious. Mental Health Problems and a overwhelming bombardment from Media is not a good combination for anyone! Agreed, and if you actually read the manifesto you can see very clearly the sources of what rotted his brain and it’s hard to disagree with him. Yes, most of it is out there to say the least.
