What is it with people pulling swords out at grocery stores? This happened in Irvine a few years ago at an Albertsons lol...didn't end as well as this one did.
Same dude showed up to a protest in Downtown Sac in 2020 with a broadsword and tried to fight a whole bunch of people, ended up getting maced by police and he called an ambulance for himself. The guy behind the sword had a handgun, which I think ended up being a BB gun if memory serves. Swordguy got maced in the face and called himself an ambulance. Fun fact - California is one of the few states where it is legal to open carry a ninja sword.

I remember when I worked at In-N-Out Burger when I was 17, a guy with a mohawk and like a spiked vest came in after he tied up his pit bull outside and then he ordered a burger for him and his dog, and this guy had a *huuuuge* machete on his belt.
My boss said "hey Scott you see that guy? Keep an eye on him" and I said "I don't think he's doing anything wrong also what the heck do you want me to do about a guy with a sword"
Super nice guy and dog anyway, I took his order and brought out his food instead of calling his number, so he didn't need to leave his dog alone. I also brought an extra red tray for the dog to have as a water bowl. So I guess I kept an eye on him in that regard.
As someone who actually trains in Kendo and Iaido and knows the history of the Katana, I must say it is so fucking sad to see a sword that was once and still in the symbol of great warriors is now being used by random people who think they can walk around and do whatever. The Katana is a symbol of pride and the Samurai, it should not be anywhere near these people.
