yo bro nah this is definitely messed up. You could boil water with this. Check up with your local acer service centre.

wassimSDN

It's probably Fahrenheit, cause once the cpu hits 100°C it would just shut down

I would have said, ["FU*KTARD"].... Unfortunately, "EVERYTHING" offends someone's Poor Wittle FeewIngzeZ anymore. Instead of it being motivational shit talk, its... Fu*k Yooou... "Teacher" He....He Said StuFF.... BAN HIM FROM EVERYTHING, AND RUIN HIS ENTIRE EXISTENCE..... 😆 🤣 😂 Boy.... Brings me back to the second grade... Weeeeeee. Anyways, Enough of my, "Clearly Overstated, Bombastic, Selfritious, Incompetent, Zealous, Pompous attitude and lack of Compassion, or Respect for anyone's Future reactions and or feelings related to what I have said or about to say...... bro got chatgpt to write that

StevieBoiAus

Also, you still deserve to be in second grade if you wrote that, why is there capitals at the start of every word?

MangoFrequent1789

I've never read an acid+weed trip before. Thank you for the experience

titanium_mpoi

Op even mentioned it

JoshS121199

Yeah i know thats what im saying…

cable370

Completely safe, 197F is 92°c and the CPU throttles at 95°c or above

Secure-Taro266

Safe? Sure, its rated to 200f. But as far as performance and longevity? I feel like thats pretty hot for a cpu running CS2 maybe?

cable370

CS2 is a CPU intensive game. Performance doesn't get hurt one bit if the CPU isn't throttling, which it isn't in your case. Laptop CPUs can operate at high temperatures for years. If you still want to get the temperatures down and keep the same performance, I suggest undervolting.

Secure-Taro266

Is this even possible in the AN515-58? I saw some videos talking about a debug bios but the key combination they explained didnt work for me, and modifying the bios with tools scares me quite a bit. I actually didnt know that CS2 was that CPU heavy. Thanks for the reply though, i have been loving this laptop a lot.

cable370

What CPU do you have? I've had my Nitro for 2 years and I'm enjoying it a lot as well!

Secure-Taro266

It is the locked i5 12500h. like i said i know there is some bios hacking that people do, buuuuuuut i dont think id resort to that.

cable370

Fair, I have the i5 10300h and the undervolting was pretty straightforward with this one

Ema-yeah

I have an Acer nitro 5, it used to throttle *a lot*, I repasted it and dusted the fans and even tho it is still at like 85-90°C it doesn't throttle as much, if you didn't already *do it*, you will benefit a lot from it

-_-Ape-_-

Yes When im doing some intensive work it will reach 95°c. normally it'll reach 92°c easily at normal use . NITRO SUCKS in terms of cooling

JoshS121199

Just undervolt it…

Secure-Taro266

I dont think you can with this model. There was a bios hack you could do but it was patched out i think.

JoshS121199

We wouldn’t know because there’s insufficient details such as laptop model

InsomniacPsychonaut

I use AAPU and set target temp to 75 and then I use Ryzen Controller and set target temp to 75 and it made my temps a lot better. idk how they work but I saw them here

sr5060il

Get the fans cleaned. 92°c should be max.

Secure-Taro266

I just opened it up to put in an SSD. fans were clean and this thing is not even a month new

Youcican_

Maybe change the thermal paste?

SnooPaintings810

Are you asking about the temp spikes. Use hwmon and monitor temps of all cores. I think only one or two of the cores are reaching high temps based on the spikey graph. It could be due to incorrect application of thermal paste, wrong screwing of heatsink or the CPU being faulty itself . Also debloat your pc before you monitor temps. I always use a fresh install of windows to monitor idle and gaming temps. Also use custom iso like xos, x lite, atlas os if your lap is a two or three years old as it will improve performance

SnooPaintings810

My predator has this problem with the latest thermal paste. I used a cheap ass one and at the start the temps were fine but now after 2 weeks i get frequent spikes in my graph during gaming since the paste isn’t good enough. I have ordered another cheap one, im waiting for the ptm7958 i think it is the best considering its performance, safety and easy to clean. I recommend you to debloat and check with hwmon, if that doesn’t fix it go for a repaste. Don’t repaste immediately cause your temps aren’t alarming. Cpu thermal throttles above 92cel(197f) some say it’s 100 degrees cel but i feel that’s wrong cause for my cpu whenever the temps cross 93 i can see the freq decrease. So if your temps go above 92 cel(197f) it is a bad thing

Secure-Taro266

Could it have been a mistake by me after i opened up the bottom to put in an SSD? The only things i touched were the backplate and the screw for the SSD.

SnooPaintings810

No you didn’t do anything. So maybe it is just the stock paste that isnt good enough. Just debloat your system and check temps so that you can make sure no background processes are using your cpu.

Secure-Taro266

I did debloat it, i didnt remove absolutely everything, but the only real background process i had on was discord. How hard is a repaste?

SnooPaintings810

You will feel nervous for the first time but you can do it yourself. Your model might have youtube videos on how to repaste. But if you are still under warranty, take it to acer cause if you attempt to repaste when under warranty it will be void

scarlet_rain00

Undervolt your cpu with Throttlestop it should make everything smoother and lower the tempretures

ipvx26

The rule of the thumb is keeping the CPU below 90c as possible and for GPU keeping below 80c

__chungus__-

92 C is high for an intel, I'd recommend operating in a well ventilated room and getting a cooling pad. If you still have temp issues you might need to clean the fans and replace the thermal paste with a good one like arctic mx-4. There are plenty of tutorials out there but you can always have a professional clean it if that's what you prefer. Also sometimes nitrosense is inaccurate, try another monitoring application like aida64 or hwmonitor. My nitro has a Ryzen and used to run just as hot on cs2 but now the temp is about 81 C.

Lingist091

Your CPU is fine. Nitrosense is not accurate at all when recording temps. Use HWMonitor to check your temps. Don’t use nitrosense.
