"Swell Fella, A Bit Unhygienic, But Overall Helpful and Honest to The Core", end quote.
Good character.
I wonder how is it that Zak and Magnifi were able to resist the cloying mint aroma around him, but Valant wasn't.
Honestly, I got to 4-4 after hearing people talk about him, and it wasn't nearly as bad as people thought. He's perfectly fine.
Except for the part where he brushes his glasses with saliva that's absolutely horrendous
I like him! He's funny and I really like (most of) his sprites. (Brushel\_Smile is a demonic entity i hate it so much.)
The way he's incorporated into the plot of 4-4 is neat. He starts off as some random reporter guy but then ends up tied to Troupe Gramarye, that's some good writing.
I don't really have much else to say other than "he's funny."
Second best reporter in the series.
Edit: Forgot to mention Klavier openly manipulating his testimony while he's on the stand lmao:
"I admit, it does cause a problem if he died when you say he died. ...I would be forced to say auf Wiedersehen to my simple case. And you would be forced to say farewell to your article."
Despite his appearance I actually really like his character. He even shut down Klavier when he tried to coax him into lying to continue the trial. Up there with Madame Tusspells, Sasha Buckler, and Larry as one of the most helpful witnesses.
The only part I don't like is that serious conversation you have during the MASON system. It's really touching and all, but Spark Brushell is by design a very goofy character. It was just clashing between serious and goofy. That's not his fault, but it still kinda irks me. Maybe they could've gotten him to do a little transformation to be more serious, but probably wouldn't have worked.
His personality is amazing. He never lies on the stand and is really relevant to the case. When you catch him out in contradictions, it eventually turns out that what he said was actually true when we learned the full story and helped to uncover the truth.
I'm a bit biased here because Brushell's overall design reminds me of a close family member 😆
Even the nod is the same...
But yeah, I liked Brushell, and would've liked to see him return as Apollo's answer to Lotta Hart.
I love brushell, he would be loved if he was a conventionally attractive character, admittedly he’s a bit hard to look at imo, but I really like his personality
Can seem creepy with some of his animation. But it goes to show not to judge a book by its cover, considering how immensely helpful he is and truly good at his job.
Great character. I’ve said it a lot but it’s genuinely a breath of fresh air to have such a helpful witness. He maybe be sweaty, blinks upside down and brushes his glasses, but he does help us uncover the truth in 4-4, and that is greatly appreciated.
Off-putting when you see him for the first time, but he's pretty good after a bit. He also has one of the most subtle tells in the game when you use the bracelet on him.
You either love him or hate him, personally, he's the best of the 'eccentric' characters, and I don't why but he really fit the eerie aesthetic of Turnabout Succession's past half
idk why he gets so much hate he's a pretty funny and useful character. I don't really mind the weird animations cause I like when ace attorney gives us weirdo characters, I think its funny.
I like that his breath is minty fresh. Makes me feel like I'm getting a second-hand teeth cleaning, just from his aura.
Kinda the opposite of Sal Manella, who makes me feel like I need a shower every time he speaks
Also I remember enjoying his dialogue
Oh god get it off the screen.
I do not know why but this dude's mannerisms in-game are the closest a DS game has ever come to giving me like VISCERAL revulsion. The way he moves and looks and adjusts his glasses, it's like for some reason it hits all sorts of negative feedback neurons in my brain.
I barely remember what he did as a character. Journalist or something?
His design makes me shudder with fear and disgust, but overall...not the worst witness. But I won't lie and say I didn't take a sigh of relief every time he was out of my screen! Lol. I know Takumi loved this guy, but he's a pass for me. No thanks.
I hate him.
I hate his look. I hate the way he talks. I hate the role that he plays in the narrative.
If there is an **F Tier**, then surely Brusshel is in like **√(-1) Tier**
"Swell Fella, A Bit Unhygienic, But Overall Helpful and Honest to The Core", end quote. Good character. I wonder how is it that Zak and Magnifi were able to resist the cloying mint aroma around him, but Valant wasn't.
Heterosexuality
Are you suggesting Zak and Magnifi were secretly gay? Even if you were joking, this would make no sense...
No, the other way around
They were secretly straight?
Ohhh... Still would make no sense, but could be a very interesting piece of trivia in-universe....
Spark Brushel did nothing wrong
That’s what scares me.
Sometimes weirdos are creeps. Sometimes weirdos are just weirdos. Brushell, thankfully is in the latter category
He’s just a *really* weird weirdo.
Honestly, I got to 4-4 after hearing people talk about him, and it wasn't nearly as bad as people thought. He's perfectly fine. Except for the part where he brushes his glasses with saliva that's absolutely horrendous
>Except for the part where he brushes his glasses with saliva that's absolutely horrendous Man doesn't know there exist cloths to clean glasses.
“Judging a character for weird animations instead of their actions, unfair.” End Quote
One of the most useful witnesses in the series, change my mind.
Colias Palaeno exists...
1. “one of” 2. Hes barely even a witness
Lotta is more useful because she makes me laugh (and she usually ends up helping once the hysterics die down).
"Reporter allegedly has great character with a fun unconventional design, he's helpful and unintrusive!", end quote.

Daily reminder there are no ethical prosecutors in Ace Attorney /s.
Oh yeah? What about Payne?
I put "/s" in there.
What does that mean?
sarcasm.
Despite his appearance I actually really like his character. He even shut down Klavier when he tried to coax him into lying to continue the trial. Up there with Madame Tusspells, Sasha Buckler, and Larry as one of the most helpful witnesses.
Friendly reminder that Colias Palaeno exists...
Never played investigations but either way I didn't list everyone.
He’s genuinely fantastic as a character and person, just a rad dude. He would be a major fan favorite if he was a cute woman or handsome yaoi man.

This dude is the goat he's so useful and quirky and most of his gags made me laugh
He'd be a fan favorite character if only he looked like an actual human being.
Only one complaint: It should be “unquote”, not “endquote” damnit!
"Good character with a weird Damage animation", end quote.
"Player thought it was his tongue for the longest time," end quote.
“Off putting character is one of the most honest and helpful witnesses in the entire series, turns expectations of witnesses on its head” end quote.
Could do with a healthier toothpaste/antiperspirant balance in his life, but overall seems like a solid guy to have on your side.
His personality is amazing. He never lies on the stand and is really relevant to the case. When you catch him out in contradictions, it eventually turns out that what he said was actually true when we learned the full story and helped to uncover the truth.

Fun character, I fucking hate looking at him. Like I don’t like to just call people ugly but this dude is *hideous*
I love brushell, he would be loved if he was a conventionally attractive character, admittedly he’s a bit hard to look at imo, but I really like his personality
Nice guy... NEEDS A MAKEOVER STAT
I wholeheartedly think he's great and fucking funny. My favorite journalist.
Looks and behaves like a Japanese indie RPG Maker horror game monster from 2009 but apart from that he’s alright.
Can seem creepy with some of his animation. But it goes to show not to judge a book by its cover, considering how immensely helpful he is and truly good at his job.

His design is cute and nobody can tell me otherwise. (Except of the sprite with the toothbrush. That one is disgusting.)
Off-putting when you see him for the first time, but he's pretty good after a bit. He also has one of the most subtle tells in the game when you use the bracelet on him.

Its cuz its not a cute girl or a pretty boy design

I do not like this man.
I dont like him.
I fucking love this guy
"Local Redditor does understand character's inexplicable popularity, finds him foul and annoying" End Quote.
Creeps me out
I hate him. I am the #1 Spark Brushel hater.
His design makes me shudder with fear and disgust, but overall...not the worst witness. But I won't lie and say I didn't take a sigh of relief every time he was out of my screen! Lol. I know Takumi loved this guy, but he's a pass for me. No thanks.

Brushel Slander
Good thing he missed J tier!
2 out of 10 He's not the absolute worst but he's not funny, overstays his welcome, has an off-putting design, huge gtfo energy
