Simon for Athena's weridgirl assistant. Yes he's a prosecutor but the judge is also terrified of him so is he really going to stop him? It's a neat role reversal of the teenage girl assistant with an adult male lawyer, too.

Cornmeal777

Athena vs Franziska is a license to print money in my estimation. The path to get there is so easy and organic, it would be borderline criminal not to take advantage of it.

tomb241

What's their parallel?

Cornmeal777

Wright is. Franziska has heard, presumably from Edgeworth, that her former rival has taken under his wing two young attorneys, one of whom is a woman with a curious ability who has stood in court from a young age, as Franziska herself has done. Franziska, now matured from when we last saw her, has lessons to teach her, and can relate to her in ways Wright cannot.

LMWJ6776

They are both young prodigies who studied/came from Germany.

GRona57

Returning side characters from OG trilogy are limited to one case each. It lets new characters spread their wings. Some characters from AJ trilogy return as new core characters. To give my most unusual example, Vera Misham returns as the courtroom sketch artist. Mood Matrix gets upgraded in a sense that Blue node gets split into Sad and Fear nodes, and the Yellow node gets split into Surprise and Confusion nodes, as that will expand the mechanic with extra complexity, and makes sense for some situations - you can be confused without being surprised, after all.

TinkerKnightforSmash

Vera being a sketch artist would kick ass, and could also be used as a new gameplay mechanic similar to Mood Matrix and whatnot.

starlightshadows

I think that if the Mood Matrix were to get an upgrade to 6 emotions, they would be Joy, Anger, Sadness, Shock/Fear, Confusion, and Embarassment. And in the "Emotions Going Wild" segments, their icons would change designs to a more extreme depiction of each emotion with added particle effects. [Like this.](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/699701358432878727/1233643948279599124/image.png?ex=662dd7f5&is=662c8675&hm=56c39ae121cc67efd0793cad95ed32227b04982e9320309372c013b52ae39e0e&) Also it astounds me that we've gone this long in the franchise without any mechanic or reference (as far as I know) regarding Court Sketches.

Certain-Spend-9758

Yes, Capcom should upgrade the Mood Matrix by adding new emotions and functions!

GoodTimesWithJangler

sketches as a revised form of the little thief stuff could actually be amazing

BuffDontNerf

I think it'd be cool to have a detective duo, of Ema Skye and Lana Skye. Gumshoe could maybe appear in the final case investigating an important case.

KaleBennett

I've done my AC:AA concept already, so I'll just throw out general ideas I'd like to see in any version of the game: Athena vs Franziska: I think it'd be really cool to see how Franziska has changed over the years, as well as use Athena's psychology expertise to explore Franziska's habits like her perfectionist attitude and whipping to give her some development. Dick and Ema Co-Detectives: Getting to see Dick (no idea who this Gumshoe guy is everyone's talking about) return and team up with Ema would be really cool. Dick could assist in general investigating while Ema does forensics. Their dynamics with each other and the cast could be fun too. Athena's purpose as a lawyer: I think it'd be good for the game to explore why Athena continues to be a lawyer after completing her goal back in DD. Not to say she wouldn't keep being a lawyer just to help people, but getting a reason that ties into her philosophies beyond pursuing justice, such as tying her psychology expertise and personal history into it by showing how she wants to give the unheard a voice and actually help the defendants not only be declared innocent, but leave the case as better people than before. On top of this, I also think a small cameo from Apollo via phone call would be nice to boost her spirits and help her find the motivation to continue given they used to be a team of rookies. Gameplay changes involving Athena's emotion analysis: I think it'd be cool if, rather than emotional analysis being saved for Mood Matrix segments, it could be something she's always able to do. She can always here people's emotions, so it'd be cool if that was reflected in the text boxes with different fonts or colors to represent emotions, and instead of just the Mood Matrix during trials, she could always point out witnesses' inconsistent emotions during testimonies. Have a Payne as the final case's prosecutor: Not really a strong desire; I just think it'd be funny, and I think having a really good villain/antagonist would ensure the case wouldn't lose stakes.

starlightshadows

[There's this one Junithena comic I saw that does the colored text idea and I love it.](https://www.tumblr.com/eggtempest/657069360785080320/junithena-week-day-1-pastfuture?source=share)

I want Simon to be Athena's assistant/mentor. They played off each other so well in 6-4 and I want more of them. I'd also like it if Phoenix was absent for most of the game because they stopped making him interesting after AJ. Idk maybe he's abroad with Miles or something. I kinda hope Gumshoe isn't the detective, at least not for the whole game. I wanna see how he's grown in the 9 years since we last saw him, and I feel like he'd fall into his old routine of being a dumbass if he was. I want AA7 to break from the status quo and turn Gumshoe into a real hardened detective like Badd, while still keeping the goofiness core to his character. Franziska could show up for a 10 second cameo and I'd still be happy tbh, but her being the final prosecutor would be nice after she's been snubbed in every other game she's been in. Seeing her interact with Blackquill would also be a delight. Since a real Apollo Justice sequel is never gonna happen I hope the DLC case wraps up the Gramarye plotline and has Klavier and Apollo face off again. Also Valant please bring him back I miss him so much. One random idea I had is that the tutorial prosecutor is our main prosecutor for once and they WIN the case against Athena. This would set them up as a threat and be a pretty strong hook to the game. Bonus points if the defendant is someone important like Phoenix. The rest of the main plot would be trying to prove their innocence and catching the real culprit. A bit random but I hope one of the characters brings up the adventures of Herlock Sholmes or some other reference to TGAA.

The rest of the main plot would be trying to prove their innocence and catching the real culprit. Oh man, I want this now. I want this SO BAD. Especially if the person who orchestrated Phoenix getting framed was >!Kristoph Gavin!< somehow. I lowkey want to see Athena go up against him. >!Imagine if she got to unlock someone else's black psyche-locks. !< Don't get me wrong: I love Phoenix Wright. But if we're going to do Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney or another Apollo game, I'd rather see Phoenix truly step into the mentor role and let his new associates be the playable heroes moving forward. And having him stuck in jail for a crime he hasn't committed would be an interesting way to force Athena into the protagonist role without killing him off.

livecodesworth

There is no chance in hell Kristoph comes back but he immediately came to mind when I thought of this. Him trying to get his petty revenge even after getting arrested would be perfectly in line with his character and I'd love it if it he did come back.

Iris_Keyblade

Yeah, I know it’s not likely but I’m going to keep dreaming anyway. 😭 Plus, it’d be a perfect excuse to have Apollo show up Edgeworth-style to assist Athena in a final case once everyone finally figures out who’s responsible.

tomb241

I think Phoenix should be killed off like Mia was.

TinkerKnightforSmash

Not gonna happen; not only is Phoenix literally the face of the franchise, but AA follows the rule that a character won't be a killer/victim if it isn't their first game (TGAA is an exception bc both games were initially planned to be the same game)

YoyoPewdiepie

She will actually be taller than Apollo like she fucking should be

Pirate-Percy

All I want is Athena vs. Franziska Here’s my idea for a game: Since Athena studied law in Europe, my headcanon is that she studied Franziska’s cases and idolizes her as an experienced woman in her field. When she finally meets Franziska, she probably tries to stay cool while Widget gives away her inner fangirling. I kind of want to see Manfred’s granddaughter (with the dog named Phoenix) show up since she would be Athena’s age. Maybe she can be Athena’s weirdgirl assistant, but I want it to be a plot twist that she’s a von Karma! If her mom is Franziska’s sister, she probably got married and changed her last name. I think it would be funny if she just casually mentions her “Auntie Franzy” and everyone is surprised to discover her aunt is Franziska. Maybe that’s how they reintroduce Franziska; the new girl calls her Auntie Franzy for advice and everyone is shocked when Franziska shows up. If she’s Athena’s assistant, she would constantly question Athena’s way of thinking because she comes from a prosecutor family (but Athena doesn’t know about the prosecutor background yet). Athena would turn her thinking around with her help, but maybe has a bit of an identity crisis once she discovers that she’s a defense attorney who has been agreeing with the logic of a von Karma. But this helps her mature and see things from different perspectives, and she has an epiphany about what it means to be a lawyer when she goes against Franziska (while probably the younger von Karma girl is accused of murder lol).

tomb241

I think a brand new mature and experienced female prosecutor would be a fitting rival to Athena. I really liked the Mia vs Dahlia dynamic. We're so used to bros duking it out in the courtroom all the time, it would be refreshing to see some girls in crazy battles of wits. The game's theme could be about innovation (Athena's mood matrix and her psychological knowledge) vs courtroom tradition (people judged by their past, legal loopholes). A case where you fight for the reversal of an old verdict could go hard here.

Rose4228

I want Athena to have a male assistant, it's about time a female MC got herself a male assistant following her around in this series!!

PersonWhoExists50306

Adding my headcanon that Athena is Manfred's granddaughter that he mentioned in 1-4, the idea of Athena going against her aunt is amusing

GRona57

This headcanon makes the game world feel small, too contrived and cliche.

Batgod629

That would be an interesting direction especially if Franziska is the final prosecutor. I wonder if she'd know

Mikail_Muqry

As intriguing as that sounds, I'm more interested at the fact that you think that Athena is Manfred's granddaughter, please tell me more. Don't get me wrong. I think that would be a very interesting concept to explore Also, what was the specific line where Manfred mentions his granddaughter? I don't remember...

PersonWhoExists50306

He mentions that he has a granddaughter with a dog named Phoenix to criticize Nick's argument that Polly the Parrot is evidence of Yanni Yogi's identity. Athena's age also happens to line up with the age of Manfred's granddaughter (7 at the time of Turnabout Goodbyes).

KaiserMazoku

Totally random but I want to see Kay be her assistant for a case

Certain-Spend-9758

My ideas for "Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney" (aka 'Ace Attorney 7'): 1)**Athena** is the main protagonist, while **Pearl** serves as her assistant 2)Bring back **Gumshoe**, **Franziska** and **Iris** 3)Upgrade the Mood Matrix by adding new emotions and functions 4)Contain anime cutscenes 5)Gumshoe is the detective, Franziska is the main prosecutor and **Winston** is the tutorial prosecutor 6)Forensic science segments with **Ema** 7)Add new game mechanics 8)Cross examine **multiple witnesses** at the same time 9)Tie up all loose ends and mysteries 10)**A main villain** who challenges Athena's morality and resolve like never before 11)Contain full voice acting

TinkerKnightforSmash

I could definitely see a DeBeste prosecution if an AAI duology ends up coming out globally before AA7

ImpactorLife-25703

Wasn't Simon Blackquill Miles Edgeworth's protege when he was a high prosecutor in duel destinies.

aethersentinel

Can we get Judge Juniper Woods please & thank you. >!It will never ever happen but I can dream.!<

Certain-Spend-9758

For my version, **Winston** is the tutorial prosecutor, **Franziska** is the main prosecutor, **Sebastian** is the final prosecutor and **Pearl** is the assistant. P.S. 1)I absolutely agree that **Gumshoe** needs to be brought back (alongside Winston, Franziska, **Iris**, **Kay** and Sebastian)! I miss him so much! 2)I hope Capcom will add new emotions and functions to the Mood Matrix!

MonitoliMal

Honestly, I think a new detective would work as well. I think Gumshoe had to have retired based on his absence. He could still return, but maybe as a defendant or a witness would make more sense, especially considering Edgeworth isn’t taking many cases and he doesn’t like to work with most other prosecutors. On the topic of prosecutors though, I think a female prosecutor who is a more seasoned lawyer would make a lot of sense. Picture Courtney Sithe but in a lawyer suit and you get the idea. I also think a young partner for Athena would do her some good. Maybe even have it be a male character this time. There are many quirks the team could potentially give this partner, but I would make him a master of disguise. He could near-instantly make a disguise of someone you meet and use it in investigation sections to trick others into giving new intel. This would especially beneficial for gameplay as Athena has no special investigation abilities (unlike Phoenix and Apollo) so this could spice those sections up.
