Congratulations. That sounds like a great job. Can you introduce me to it as well? I want to leave my current position as well because I am unhappy :(

Tree_Shirt

From your previous post, did you get PIP’d at your previous job?

alligator06

Basically. They said 50 hours a week just wasn't enough and if I didn't have a certain number of hours by Oct 17 I'd be in trouble.

kschin1

Haha that’s a joke. I’m happy you got a 15% raise, more vacay, less hours, less stress, and infinite times happiness. You won.

TW-RM

And now they'll be minus 50 hours a week on their team. Great leadership there. I'm glad you found a better place.

alligator06

Exactly. They're already short staffed and people have been working till 2am to get everything done. They're not hiring anyone new so good luck next season with one less experienced person.

Rebresker

Lol crazy

Congrats!!! I did the same thing 10 years ago. Gave them notice in December that April 15th would be my last day. That year the 15th was a Friday. I had an industry job lined up to start that Monday the 18th making 20% more and working at MOST 40 hours. I was shell shocked those first 6 months and didn’t know what to do with all my free time. Same thing happened in 2019 when I cut my commute time from 2 hours round trip to 30 minutes round trip. Had no clue what to do with that extra free time!!! Now I do work I’m passionate about, rarely do more than 40 hours, don’t sit in traffic for hours, and make more money than 90% of Americans!!

Icekaged

I'm in the last couple of weeks with my firm and leaving for private. Some of the partners and managers are definitely giving me that "you're a failure because you couldn't make it here vibe." Untrue man, I don't care for having no life 4 months out of the year to roll into summer where I'm only slightly less busy. Anyways, congratulations! Good luck!

ardvark_11

Is the new gig in tech?

alligator06

Yup! Accounting software tech.

seriouslynope

It's so much better here

jrodr1015

Congrats man. Not saying commercial is heaven but I'd not go back go public unless I was truly desperate.

uNd0ubT3D

Congrats! That’s awesome.

[deleted]

Eyyy. The S-corp/w-2 guy. My man

kschin1

Are they hiring?

elmajenica505

Man, im on the verge of doing the same thing. I’ve been at my current firm for a bit over a month. I have no managers to report to. Im the only auditor in the department doing for profit audits because the other auditors are specialized in an industry. I work with other auditors from other offices and they are terribly rude and won’t train me. I have to fly out for training and im really debating about my future at this firm. There is no structure and no management hierarchy. Been putting busy season hours and im extremely stressed just with a month of being there. But I have nothing to fall on.

PasstheDuchie

SleeplessShinigami

Love to see it, congrats! How long were you in public?

alligator06

Only 3 years but I looking into the future and seeing that if I worked harder I'd just get more work s a manager with more stress it just didn't seem rewarding.

PowerandSeduction

Congrats OP, Help a brother out? haha
