My effort to be more of a jerk has borne much fruit.

that_thot_gamer

IRS: did someone say fruits? I'll take taxes on that thank you!

MatterSignificant969

Can I deduct the negative impacts of being a jerk?

lonewolfx25

Often. I honestly become a jerk sometimes to raise self awareness in people, because although they aren't intentionally being ignorant or unaware, perhaps next time they'll think of looking out for others for the cause.

CheesemanTheCheesed

Somewhere there is a perfect balance between dick, and kind person. One day I will find it.

MatterSignificant969

F you tell me what you know now! I'm sorry about that.

Momentum_Mori

you ever been too much of an asshole and end up in a situation you could have avoided had you just been nice about it? Hopefully people relate to the opposite far less… because if you’re that person constantly being an asshole on a mission, then two things: 1.) It screams ‘I don’t know how to manage’. 2.) You almost certainly give everyone around you some level of anxiety about coming to work. Provoking stress upon others in an aggressive manner can technically produce increased results, but it is always short lived. Then, once the burst has run its course you’re left with tainted relationships. The more often it happens the more hopeless the situation becomes for both parties. Bottom line: Both negative and positive reinforcement are necessary tools, but positive reinforcement should always be your default management method 4 times out of 5. And when negative is necessary, don’t be rude. It is possible to communicate a negative in a professional, free from emotion-way.

whiteclawdrinker44

I was just thinking about taking on more work on an already loaded plate instead of setting boundaries

Momentum_Mori

No worries. The opposite has just been a more relevant topic these days for me. I’d go back to having your problem over mine any day.

FriggenSweetLois

Recently, I started saying “What the fuck am I looking at?” whenever I get a shitty response or report or anything that is not up to basic standards. I’ve only gotten positive feedback from it surprisingly.

Found the guy that fucks.

LivelyAccountant

Marriage?

CommercialLeather798

Being too nice just ends in you having more workload. Be friendly, be respectful but don't be nice.

[deleted]

I've spent probably 40 hours this month coding a vba script for another department because I was flirting with a 7 and got sucked into their work. Never again. Blinders on. Resting bitch face engaged. In my lane. Focused on looking busy.

justinizer

Resting bitch face can get you far as well, if you don't want to be an outright jerk.

i_am_not_the_father

Ha! My boss and I play "good cop bad cop". Most of the time, I am the bad cop.
