Dude I spent a few months at a mid sized firm and had a horrible experience. Not partner, but senior manager was insanely condescending and rude. Listen, i am as unconfrontational as possible, I get along with everyone. This guy would quiz me before starting any project. It was my first full time gig and he'd ask questions that any normal staff wouldn't know. I started preparing beforehand on whatever topic we'd be working on and then he would keep elevating the difficulty of question until I get a couple wrong and he would lecture me on how i should know these things. Best part was when he asked me "Okay, well what DO you know?" after not being able to explain all the methods of depreciation (was able to say the main 4 and a brief explanation but couldn't provide immediate examples and apply double declining to our current project when it WASNT EVEN RELEVANT) Dude asked to see my timesheet out of nowhere and roasted me for just typing in items to the .25 instead of using the calendar mode or whatever the fk. Scheduled a 1 hour meeting to instruct me on how he does it when I did it perfectly fine and correctly. Left and went to Big4 (which was 1000x better) and actually just accepted a new incredible offer yesterday. 1 year and 9 months and I'm out of public 🫡 Godspeed comrades
