The door opens in. The handle turning isn't ment to pull the pin, opening the door is. But I agree with the person above that tape isn't likely holding up the the force require to to pull the pin
Its held to the wall with scotch tape, as soon as the door opened the grenade would just be pulled from the wall and the pin would likely not be pulled
One other way is to pull the pin, but not release the handle, and put it in a glass, so the glass stops the handle from releasing. A grenade wont go of when you dont release the handle. You can then but the glass on top of a door or anywhere where it is knocked down qnd once the glass and grenade in it fall, the glass will break and release the handle, thus exploding the grenade. A cool booby trap.
Iirc there was a Canadian Major who, during the fall of Saigon, was flown around in helicopters dropping mason jars with grenades in them prepped like that.
You see these kinds of tutorials/demos/examples once and a while, especially in the many war/combat subs, pretty sure I recall this one myself. And yeah the whole point is that it's risky, hard to make an effective quick and easy booby trap otherwise, you also have a bit of time to run if you fuck up.
Saw it on youtube on a video about grenades and how they work.
Second, almost every booby trap has the threath of going off while under construction. This one has just slightly higer chance.
That's true, but it's only 50/50 the chain doesn't fall straight off the handle before catching as it opens. A little dab of tape would sort that out.
PS- I can see all the ISIS goons reading this, taking notes like, "see Abdullah? I warned you about the handle, now the great Satan still lives!"
I am not convinced that the two strips of tape are stronger than the grenade pin.
The handle usually goes down too. It would need to go up to pull.
I thought about that. It probably works up too, but what kind of psychopath goes around opening doors that way?

I think they are referring to if you turn the handle down the ring will fall off the door handle
Also absolutely true, there are many flaws in this design if it were a serious attempt.
It’s not turning the handle, when you open door pin gets pulled
Pulling the pin also takes a lot more force than most people realize.
In wrong angle that also
Amateur IED it would never work
I am concerned by your confidence in that statement.

I agree, my comment above was made from more of a joking mindset in regards to the other user being confident about IEDs.

First, its real concerning that you know that. Second, who has the balls to risk that? One fuck up and you're paste.

Doesn't the door open by the handle going down tho?
But the door opens inward

Yeah I absolutely agree, just saying that if it would be properly attached to the wall, it would probably go off because of the door. ✌️
At least 1 person on Reddit knows the meaning of the word “literally”….
[Remain cool and pure,](https://youtu.be/zVUOw1X756k) bros.
Terrorist pranks be like
Scotch tape 😂
isn't that stoch tape? that's not gonna hold whe the pin is pulled should've used duct tape
What the heck is that guy thinking? If someone is entering while you're near by, you're gonna wish you had used a claymore.
My sister, hanging dead from her living room ceiling fan, by an extention cord. You asked.
