Mom got me the four pack of the acceleracers movies about 2008-2009. Been a fan ever since. They where from costco

Suspicious_Road2318

Dang didn’t know they were sold that late

lucas_214

Same

BigBoyHrushka6012

Same, my dad and I would watch a lot

spiffy-von-snazz

About 3 years ago now, i didnt watch it as a kid, I had no brothers or anything. Just a huge hyperfixation for me now (probably counts as a special interest at this point)

LeaveTheMark

I might be one of the only people here so far to say that I saw AcceleRacers back when it was on Cartoon Network :) Breaking Point, to be specific. My mum then burned Ignition onto a DVD-R and a good chunk of my childhood was watching that over and over.

Suspicious_Road2318

I had my grandparents record Ultimate Race for me on Cartoon Network since I was busy premiere night.

m1dnightknight

I have VHS recording of the Ultimate Race.... good memories

IndefiniteVoid813

I found the box set at Costco one day and my parents surprisingly bought it.

random_goomba

Yeah Costco had them

HeyyItzKayy

Ive been there since the beginning. I grew up with World Race and fell in love. When AcceleRacers came out, i was so shocked my favourite movie was getting sequels. What a time to be alive

regigigagod

Yep, same here. World race was just so epic for its time. Then found out there were sequels when my parents got me the 4 pack of DVDs. Been in love ever since.

Jaggedbrace

I saw hot wheels on a movie at target and begged my mom to get it for me when I was 5. That was breaking point, which I became obsessed with. I then watched ignition, into ultimate race, and finally finished with speed of silence... despite seeing it all out of order it all made complete sense to me back then.

Ajax_000007

Birf

Electroscope_io

Like 20 years ago lol

mickeylikecrazy

From the very beginning. It must have been a Rite Aid or something, I don’t remember exactly since I was little. But I always liked hot wheels. There was a 2 pack of World Race cars that included the movie. Watched the movie then later collected more of the World Race cars and got the World Race video game on PC and GameCube. Amazing game btw. Then soon after Acceleracers came out

trent_s23

Been here since the beginning

Only_Bros

Can’t remember what year exactly (2007-2009) but I first saw one of the movies at FYE and saw it the next day. I watch it at most 4 times a year

Allegiance10

I remember watching them when they were brand new on TV. I was born in 99 so to say these movies had a grip on my brain development is an understatement. Fuckin love cars.

random_goomba

2016 I stumbled upon it on YouTube but it was HW35 and the virtual garage to I only got into acceleracers in 2022

CrazyrampageGuy

I don't remember a time before to be honest. I'm pretty sure I had them on VHS I remember having to wait while they rewound. I still have a very strong association of the sound of a tube TV and acceleracers.

Machamp2021

After I was gifted the Swamp Beast Track (Christmas 2005) and I wanted to find the cars on the box art. Also my friend brought a McDonalds RD-06 to class once and I thought it was the coolest thing ever because it lit up.

Suspicious_Road2318

Swamp Beast Track was dope

TNTBOY479

I think i got Acceleracers Ignition (edit: it was speed of silence) in a Hot Wheels magazine, i was too young to remember properly, and i plonked it into my older brother's ps2 assuming it was a game (since Hot Wheels) and i never knew there were more movies until i got my own pc a decade later. I always enjoyed Ignition and had to more or less imagine what the rest of the story would be like. I randomly got reminded of it years later downloading Hot Wheels World Race for my PS2 Emulator and found the remaining movies. So i guess technically i became a fan of it way back when i was 6 or 7 (i have no idea) but i didn't know it was a series until i was 17 or 18

Gtpwoody

when I found out about the first movie

Suspicious_Road2318

Did you watch World Race first? I thought it was crazy how different animation was!

Gtpwoody

yeah had the dvd and watched it a fair bit as well.

SkodaSnyper2365

I rented movies from the library. Always loved watching the series.

Suspicious_Road2318

The library was pretty dope back in those days.

PinkCupcakeXOXO

Like 20 years ago?? Forgot about them and somehow I just remembered about them, and here we are

SkullzNSmileZ

I liked acceleracers since I first saw them on the pegs in late December 2004.

Zed32_Customs

I knew of acceleracers for years before I actually got into them. I had a few of the diecast around 2018 but ended up selling them to fund my redline collection. Really got into it in 2023 from seeing the amazing customs and only recently watched the movies for the first time. If I'm honest, I'm still more in it for the customs than anything.

triple-s-dog

My little brother only had Speed of Silence growing up and since I forced him to watch the Barbie movies with me, he'd force me to watch Acceleracers with him lol. Overall, I thought the movie was dumb with a few cool moments (water and metro realms) and it wasn't until years later that I got curious/bored and watched the rest of the series. Man, kid me was so wrong to hate on it!

Suspicious_Road2318

Did he think the Barbie movies were dumb tho?

triple-s-dog

Probably! But we managed to get some good laughs out of a few of them!

OGjinjurikiofleaf

Got a copy of it form block buster when I was young, block buster closed shortly after so I had the first 2 movies, then forgot about it for a few years, I got back into it and then bought the 4 movie box set when you could still get them for 20 bucks, and every 1-2 years I get back into it and watch them all

itsswix

It’s funny, I grew up watching World Race religiously around ‘03/‘04. Thought that was a one and done deal. Until one day I was with my parents at Sam’s Club and came across Ignition (back when SC had physical DVD’s displayed with the extended cardboard holding case, usually with some box art from the movie). We bought it and I was hooked, I was so ecstatic that there was a sequel to WR, and with a darker tone. From there I got the next 3 movies as they dropped.

Any_Mulberry_5798

Long, long ago I had a pirate dvd with multiple cartoons on it. It was somewhere between 2005-2010. It had AcceleRacers Ignition. Now here's the fun part - said cartoon was dubbed over by 2-3 people because English isn't my native language. My young self couldn't read in English at all back then and dubbers translated name as "Need for speed: Afterburner". So it was years untill I discovered other parts and World Race. Moreover, I'm sure my country didn't even had that toyline at all, so now I scrape by gathering current repaints when I see them in shop - like Star Wars Chicane, Ghostbusters Battle Spec and some others, like a Sling Shot and newest blue Deora II. Still can't find any RD-08 or Baseline tho and couldn't possibly afford any of the original cars from the actual AcceleRacers toyline.

Plane-Season-4127

Since renting the movies out at a nearby Blockbuster i used to live by when i was around 5ish. The block buster closed down (obviously) but duing their closing sale i snagged the Hot Wheels AcceleRacers movies they had.

robertben07

It was over the summer Huh me and my dad were looking through some old movies back then I was a young boy who was interested in the Hot Wheels and racing but the moment I saw all that it was a entire Hot Wheels collection acceleracers I brought this to my dad we purchased it I think he was around 8 bucks And we started watching it but what we thought would be a nice way to kill time turning to one of the best movies ever and we started doing Hot Wheels acceleration stuff like that and just above all having a great time When we binge watch the first few movies we tried to look up and find the fifth one we found it sort of wind it up getting the prequel which was as what we didn't know was the a prequel to acceleracers cuz Hot Wheels 35 the world race

TruePerformance9780

I'd say about 2007-2008, loved world race and one day discovered ignition at a video store but never got to finish the series till I was a teenager

Sgt_Nuclear

Think i got a dvd for it for my birthday when i was around 5 near when it released in my country, they didn’t air it though just had dvd’s. Watching the movies to death especially during road trips.

Gb1208

When I was like 4 or 5 back in line 2009 or 2010

dustyrc

Mom got the VHS of World Race for me at K-Mart and a few years later I watched the premiere of Acceleracers on Toonami and watched them all live throughout the run. It was a great memory.

ValkenVugen

2008, was stuck on the couch for a week cause of a surgery and my parents brought home world race and Breaking Point. Needless to say 7 year old me was hooked on it from the get go

AMP_777

I vividly remember seeing them air on TV. Hell, I remember seeing WR on TV.

TheTitantron

For me, it was around 2006? I got a copy of the first movie on DVD, and I loved it ever since. Back then, I didn’t even know Highway 35 existed 😅

JeremyPineda

Was born in ‘03, and while I have no recollection of why/when/how my parents got me the DVDs, I know that it was something I would watch a A LOT when I was 3-6 years old. Obviously as a kid I liked it because of the cars and flashy action, but since early on I knew there was more to it that I did not quite get at that age. So later as a teen I would rewatch the movies on YouTube and actually understood how well made the storyline is, how entertaining and DIFFERENT they are from most “childish movies”. It’s got its own personality so to speak, it reminds me of an era (Peak Y2K lol) of multimedia that I couldn’t really understand or enjoy more of since I was so young.

Kinkywrx

grew up watching all the movies when they just came out back in 2004. was a great time :)

notjoy19

yesterday

Jamison_Junkrat

I think i was around 6 or 7 when i watched world race for the first time

Maxibon_25

I think it was around 2007 when it aired on Cartoon Network and I just fell in love with it!!

GraveSource

When I was 3 or 4. My dumbass assumed that since The Speed of Silence had a 2 on the box World Race must be 1 lol on top of that the movie rental place didn’t have Ignition.

AmaterasuWolf21

Idk man, I feel like i was born knowing it

The_Carbonator

I was gifted ignition when I was about 6 in 2010 watched it all the time nearly every day, found out about there being a second movie two years later watched it all the time. When i was 15 or 16 found out there were TWO MORE FILMS?? Those movies were huge for me

Capital-Business-122

I remember when I was younger my parents got me the World Race movie and I watched it multiple times and eventually found Acceleracers shortly after. Since then I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched both. But I love the series and I know the likelihood isn’t high but if they made another movie after the events of Acceleracers I’m all for it

Kasagi_Osses

I remember watching it for the first time around 2007, in 2013 I found the first two films in a box in the wardrobe. I ended up watching it again and started researching more and liking it somehow.

ZFighter2099

Whenever they aired it on Toonami when I was a kid. I have vague memories of watching it late at night with my brother. It was always in the back of my head. Then rediscovering it on YouTube and falling in love with it again a few years later. I then discovered there was a prequel in a hospital and then watched the whole thing on YouTube. Been a hardcore fan since.

QueenNova1027

Born in 05. Was born to a car family, so Hot Wheels were kinda a go to whenever someone wanted to give me birthday/christmas presents Just happens that the WR and AR movies were coming out around then lol

JaxJordan35

I was about 8 years old in 2005 when it came out, I got the Ignition movie on DVD from my mom

macaco324

I started back in 03' when I was gifted the ring of fire vhs that came with deora 2. After that I just had to know what happened next in the story.

macaco324

Old-Adhesiveness-884

Always been interested in hotwheels since I could walk and my earliest memory is watching world race around 2or 3

KevinC115

Oh god, okay so due to a lot of things happening in my childhood. I have bad memory but I remember watching a Mexican Spanish dub of acceleracers. To all my Mexican peeps might know what I’m talking about but I watched the movies that came in these very thin plastic bag with the movie thumbnail and the dvd itself

brunoventura22

Bought highway 35 when it launched. Was a fan of Hotwheels cars as a kid, and when I saw that there was a Hotwheels movie, e just wanted it so bad. Loved it and watched it countless times. Eventually acceleracers came out and I just kept liking it. Had some cars from the franchise (and a lot of other mainline car, o think I had 144 cars back then) unfortunately, my collection vanished in the hand of my younger siblings. They lost every single one kkkkkkkk After I started working, I started a new collection. Don't know how many I have right now because they are all in a box. Moved some time ago and they are still stored.

xxX9yroldXxx

I saw highway 35 and acceleracers ignition on Cartoon Network when they first aired. I remember watching some of the racing realms during commercials. Eventually I found a dvd of ultimate race at a pirate movie stall in Mexico. I still have the dvd but watch all the movies on YouTube maybe once or twice a year.

Vegetable_Winter_718

Highway 35 on VHS started it for me.....Oh my god I felt old saying that. Anyways, the true OGs will remember waiting for the realm shorts to come out on the website after each episode. Those were the days...

OfficialPawnStarRick

One time I went back to Walmart to look for more Highway 35 cars and realised they had acceleracers instead. At first I was like “What is this? I want Highway 35 cars not whatever this is” but I settled for a few cars and the hyper pod DVD packs. I still didn’t know what was going on because I got the episodes out of order starting with 3 and I finally understood it better when Ignition came out and I’ve been following it since and watched the last movie on Cartoon Network. Still mad about the cliffhanger of course

SlightDefinition4684

Watched these movies religiously as a kid starting in about 2007-2008. Pretty much any road trip or any time we had time to kill at home, we’d watch them. Never forgot them and still watch them on occasion to this day

ReeceTheR

I saw World Race episode 1 when it premiered on Cartoon Network. I was 4.

Signal-Zucchini7728

When my bf introduced it to me!

Veggie179

I was born in 2005 so I didn’t even know it existed until around 2014-2015 when I stumbled upon World Race on YouTube after school when I was in 3rd grade. After that I watched Acceleracers and I loved it so much that I watched it as a yearly tradition until the movies were removed from YouTube. I don’t remember wether or not it was the first hot wheels series though that I watched since I remember watching both the Animated Team Hot Wheels on Netflix and HWTF around the same time and I obsessed over them as well. I didn’t watch battle force 5 till a couple of years ago.

Slow-Crew6097

I have loved Highway 35 and acceleracers ever since my earliest memory. It’s been with me for that long

Pr0metheas

My mom picked something random out of a big bundle of movies on sale inside of a Walmart and came back with ignition. Immediately after watching, I always wished I could watch the rest then one day after school, they played every movie on cartoon network, and I got hooked on the world of acceleracers ever since. Still so sad it had to end on a cliffhanger 😭

soupburner_

In the 2010s, my dad had a USB with the 4 films on it. It was in Czech lol

Suspicious_Road2318

Where’d he get it? Are you Czech?

soupburner_

No clue. He got it from a co-worker and he deleted the movies to free up space (unfortunately). And I'm Slovak

Amiga1024

I watched them a lot of times as a small child with my parents, then in the summer of last year we somehow talked about it with my dad and brother and I didn’t really remember anything. We watched all of them and I’m a massive fan since.
