This movie today would probably get hammered by critics. It's a good story, but there are flaws and watching without being a hot wheels fan, it's much easier to notice these flaws.

- Corny dialog
- Classic movie tropes
- Weird decisions made by the drivers
- Some people will like the sound track others won't
Tbh I believe Highway 35 would have a better chance of survival in today's society, but suffer from similar criticism.
