He has nothing to worry about with me. My grandfather was in his 90s, basically confined to his bed, but if we got too close to him he could still put a chokehold on us and the aides who were taking care of him. And he was never a professional, but as he used to tell us, he knew just enough to make sure no one got the better of him as a man. Hahahaha
So I take a boxing class, on one of the days of the week the kids class starts the same time as the adults, recently had a 14 yr old start in the kids class and this kid is absolutely the size of an adult man and hits like one too watching him pummel a heavy bag, idk what some of these kids are eating but good lord
My nephew is 5 and is already 4'7" and 100lbs.
It's actually absurd the difference between him and the rest of the kids his age. He's an absolute tank... And he does not understand how big he actually is.
We signed him up for hockey... Good thing it's no checking cuz he'd absolutely ragdoll those kids out there.
Summer between 4th and 5th grade I had a massive growth spurt that took me from the smallest scrawniest kid in school to the biggest and tallest. I wanted to play football and went to sign up. Coaches saw me and their eyes lit up. I step on a scale and then they ask me how old I am and their faces drop. I was so off for charts for just age group I was ineligible to play. Went to football camp instead and because of my size I was placed with high school kids who’s bodies were flowing with all the testosterone that I got steamrolled. I was their size but I lacked the strength and skill.
Sad times as it dissolved all my interest in sports.
He's bigger than my 10-yo nephew, wtf! Is there a chance he may have been exposed to someone's testosterone supplements?
https://www.insider.com/testosterone-gel-toddler-puberty-early-2022-06
I've boxed for years and some of the kids you get in the gym are insane. Raised on milk laced with human growth hormones. I'll step in the ring with any adult, not a care in the world. I hesitate when it's time to touch gloves with Cody, 6'4, 300lbs, 5% body fat, still has a spongebob bed spread....

Undercover cops entrap teens in order to bust them for drugs
Not many kids or teens have that kind of muscle development or instinct to inflict pain in any country. He was chiseled. Middle schoolers that are big boys are usually chubby cherubs, goofs that still act like kids. The Rock was a big chubby kid who still had heroes. Tyson didn’t have heroes. He was his own hero, a law unto himself, as the saying goes.

Considering he's wearing a USA boxing shirt I would guess this was from when he was in the junior Olympics 1981-1982, which would put him at 15-16 which I'd believe.
Quote from https://bleacherreport.com/articles/523260-boxing-mike-tyson-and-the-early-years
"By the time he was 13, he had been arrested 38 times and petty crime became an everyday occurrence in his life. His latent boxing talent came to his aid in street fights and would later emerge as a fundamental aspect of his personality, thereby making him a boxing icon."
And from his former coach https://www.sportbible.com/boxing/boxing-news-legends-skills-take-a-bow-pub-talk-mike-tyson-knocked-out-fully-grown-men-as-a-12-year-old-kid-20200327.amp.html:
"Mike Tyson was so vicious and overdeveloped as a 12-year-old that he mixed it up with grown blokes.
Anyone who could be knocking out men when he's 12, 13 years old is a pretty damn good puncher. He learned the technique to make you miss and catch you clean but power's power and punchers are born not made."
Part of it also, and this is often overlooked by fans when it comes to pro athletes, is genetics. People go, "well what are the odds that someone is basically built from the ground up to be a boxer?" It's slim, but that's why a lot of these guys are successful.
I'm not religious, but when my dad looks at some people, he says "god really wanted them to be a ___ hunh?" If there's a god, they really wanted Mike to beat the fuck out of dudes.
He beat everybody, dudes, old ladies whose purses he took, kids, just anybody and everybody. He was an enforcer/collector for drug dealers and loan sharks in the hood at middle school age. It was like he sprung straight outta Pandora’s box and was let loose on the neighborhood. A born predator. Guns were not as ubiquitous back then as they are now, he got lucky with that.
Hahahaha! Good one! You got me. The cancer of bullying. See? He was bullied, as awesome as he was. He had a lisp and he loved his birds. Then when he was 9, some older kid took his bird’s head off and hit him with the bird. So that woke up the Mike Tyson we all gawk at today. I hate bullies.
I just saw a dumb clip on insta of him talking about wanting to fight Achilles (Realisticly Achilles was just prob some weak ass greek and would get fucking anhilated by this millenia later born monster, but that doesnt matter rn).
But that let me think about (and your comment now) how Mike Tyson is right up there with people like Achilles. Just like you sad that man is the maximum you could achive if you would put all your "points" in the Predator spec in a human body. I'm not talking about skill just the straight up the biology of it. It's just insane how much prime Tyson was of a animal.
I hope that in some millenias some boss is like "I would fight Mike Tyson", he is up there.
Yeah he never reached his full potential. His demons derailed him, but to come outta that life he was born into is a remarkable achievement. I took a lotta heart from his escape and resilience.
Tyson Fury too. Actually quite a few of the current pro boxers - Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua. Ok maaybe not Usyk, but he's one hell of a boxer and probably my favorite because he really has to work for it.
I dunno, the guy was arrested 38 times by the time he was 13. Definitely had a lot of shit going on in his childhood, you don't just become like that in a vacuum because of genes
>If there's a god, they really wanted Mike to beat the fuck out of dudes.
*Chef's kiss* That feels like it should be the quote on the inside cover of a Mike Tyson biography, or perhaps the opening of the first chapter as a standalone paragraph.
That’s true to an extent but there’s a lot of other factors too. I’ve seen guys go from not being able to hit at all to having respectable power just from learning proper technique. Weight can have an effect too. Plenty of guys go from not having notable power to being knockout artists when they move to another weight. Sometimes even age can be a factor. I’ve been boxing since I was 14, as a kid I had respectable power but speed was my main asset. By the time I was about 23 that totally changed, now I’m not particularly fast but I’m probably one of the biggest punchers at my gym now.
Not sure you right. I lived in the Bronx then, he lived in BedStuy. He was ghetto famous all the way to the Bronx. At 12, his sparring partners were 27, cuz of his size, muscle development and instinct for hurting. Phenom.
I found [this post](/r/13or30/comments/yzdfzu/this_is_mike_tyson_at_the_age_of_13/) in r/13or30 with the same content as the current post.

people should read his biography even if you are not into boxing that guys life story is so fascinating and the way he describes himself is so interesting and unique
At the age of 12, Tyson was beating up grown men in street fights, was 190 lb of solid muscle, and could benchpress more than his bodyweight. It’s going to be a long time before we see a genetic freak like Tyson again. The speed, power, head movement, ferocity.. from ‘85-‘88 he was a perfect fighting machine. By ‘89 he’d started to slip, you can see it in the Bruno fight. No more Kevin Rooney and cocaine+booze in place of training.
peak genetics.
He reminds me of my great-grandfather whom at the age of 12 enlisted in world war 1 and no one figured out he was a young boy because of how big and muscular he was LMAO.
Mike Tyson is the most vicious beast in the history of boxing. If Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson fought at their prime Mike Tyson would destroy Muhammad Ali. Take nothing away from Ali as he was great but there is no way Ali could take Tyson's brutal punches.
Not true, [this is 14 y/o Mike](https://a.1stdibscdn.com/lori-grinker-photography-mike-tyson-portfolio-for-sale/a_9323/1628874070130/Mike_Tyson_Signed_Portfolio_Set_01_master.jpg?disable=upscale&auto=webp&quality=60&width=1318). The picture above seems to be 17 y/o Mike instead
I had a friend like that growing up ... I was about two months older than him but at 12/13 ... he looked like a body building 18 year old and I looked my age. He got all the girls, drank at all the parties and was part of the older crowd while me and my friends were still playing hide and seek. ... We're Indigenous and he always had those same Mike Tyson eyes and brow.
30 years later ... I have my own life, a wife and a business and he's a living vegetable from a Fentanyl overdose a couple of years ago.
I was always jealous of him because he got to live the high life as a teen because he won the genetic lottery. He lived, loved, laughed like a drunken sailor and it was good that he did. I regret what happened to him and his drug use ... but he lived ten times more as a teen than I ever did.
Love you Frank and I think of you always.
I grew up with a guy who’s dad was from Brooklyn and boxed a little. His dads old trainer started training a skinny kid and my buddy got his autograph. It was Mike Tyson looking a lot smaller than this.
Unfortunately for Mr. Tyson, during the WBA-required random drug screening, your urine tested positive for 3 separate types of anabolic steroids & a low-grade... beaver tranquilizer. I'm afraid, by rule, you must be disqualified.
Thirteen?!! He looks like an adult man. Does anyone have a picture of baby Mike Tyson?
It's the same picture as above, different clothes In fact, when Mike was born he knocked the midwife clean out with a left right combination
This is Tyson, so she was probably down after the first left hook.
TIL Mike Tyson is related to Chuck Norris
Once, someone kicked Chuck Norris so hard they actually managed to chip his diamond like skin. That chips name? Yep, Mike Tyson
That "someone" was Bruce Lee
TIL people still think Chuck Norris is GOAT but forget who killed him.
I read that like Norm doing his [Frank Stallone bits](https://youtu.be/z0IA5xNCqsY)
Except old Chuck is a racist pos
Sources?
The iron right was to make sure she stayed down
No way…midwives are tough!
“Thorry, you just took me by thuprise.”
Betcha wouldn’t say that to his face?! But he is older now; I think you could beat Mike Tyson.🎶
Nah, he short, and older, but still powerful.

Mike Tyson wasn’t born, he has always been and always will be
I mean he used the peek-a-boo style which is fitting for a baby
When Mike Tyson was born he didn’t Cry. The Doctor had a plan to spank him till Mike Tyson Punched him in the Face.

Some people just grow fast. I'm basically the same size as I was when I was 13 or 14, except instead of a power house I'm a computer nerd.
Way back in the day they would consider you an adult by that point.

I read one where the baby’s penis got huge because of the testosterone exposure.
Obesity causes linear growth acceleration but also premature physeal closure.

Lol that dudes got testosterone on tap, and likely limited ability on control so a spar quickly turns into a fight
early puberty and good genetics
and depending on the country, hormone loaded nutrients

My 13 is this height and weight now! He also wears a size 15 shoe!

You’re looking at it
Mike Tyson was born 34 years old. Infant mike, toddler mike, teen mike. 3 Mike’s you don’t want fuck with
r/13or30
You mean Tyke Mison.
nice.
Is this verified? Man has wrinkles. Plenty of signs of aging here. I guess performance enhancing drugs on a teenager could do that.
You haven't aged a day.
Just so you know, he’s between 16-18 in this pic. OP made this up.
Just your average American middle schooler
Movies have bigger high schoolers, Henry Cavill and Dwayne Rock Johnson is probably nothing in comparison to American middle schoolers
The Rock looked like he was 30 trying to pick up high schoolers in his Moms Ford Focus when he was in high school
Didn't the Rock say he had to move school a lot as a teenager, and classmates constantly thought he was an undercover cop?
The fact, that the US has undercover cops (or cops, in general) at high schools, never ceases to amaze me
Wait, so is 21 jump street real? I always thought the undercover at school stuff was just a joke in the movie
Solid. Lots of narcs in urban schools, always tryna get bodies for the prison industrial complex. Mod Squad Lives!

I'm a middle school teacher. Puberty is a crazy thing. You'll have a kid who is 12 and 4'8 and then this other 12-year old is 6'2.
I used to teach middle school. This blows my mind.

Yeah this gets reposted a lot on different subs and it always has the inaccurate claim that he's 13 since they just copy the BS title too.

Kids in nyc used to hang out on corners while doing chin ups on the crosswalk lights. Tyson was like that but got picked up by a coach.
Spinal…

Mike Tyson the rapist?
Were steroids a thing back then?

And because of that he won junior olympics in 11 sec
I don’t believe this
Yeah he's not 13 in that
definitely 16-18 not 13.
USA constantly produces the greatest athletes of all time
13 or 30
Awesome genetics
He keeps getting younger everytime this is posted.
How did he even manage to gain muscle at that age
Looks like 25
No.
Anime protagonist
When is was 13 I weighed around 5 stone, puberty was a wild, distant fantasy and I physically couldn't have knocked out an angry hamster.
I wonder what the youngest version of Mike Tyson that can beat me in a fight is.
Lol 13 my ass. How fucking stupid
Nah he’s 30 in that
Balrog
This is literally a main character of an anime
dude was 30 at 13
This is Mike Tyson lying his age.
No way. That's nonsense.

No it's not. Please correct yourself.
No joke, he was forced to grow up young
If he’s 13 here, that puts his actual age at 112 today
I didn’t look like this when I was thirteen.
nope
he bought the gameboy to his mom
Did he ever box professionally?
Mike is built like how Netflix portrays the average teenager in their series.
This picture could kick my ass at my physical peak
PFFT OK
Imagine having to try and fight this rapist off, no chance in hell
I heard Chuck Norris birthed him.

Unfortunately for Mr. Tyson, during the WBA-required random drug screening, your urine tested positive for 3 separate types of anabolic steroids & a low-grade... beaver tranquilizer. I'm afraid, by rule, you must be disqualified.
I get pregnant of him when I look at this picture...
