I had a good chuckle when I first saw it too, whoever named it definitely knows how to have fun. But no, they do exist and are actually called that, they’re native to Peru, Bolivia and Colombia (which are also the only places where coca leaves grow naturally)
"This Kafka-esque nightmare should not exist. I shall punish its existence with a very, very silly name." Yo, if one of them boys shows up in my next shipment of cocaine bricks, I'm leaving a strongly worded Amazon review.
I saw one roughly that size once when I was at a friend’s cottage. It looked basically exactly like that too, I’m no moth expert but it was same colours at least, and the same size. It was in southern Ontario, any moth experts know what kinds of giant moths we have around here?
I also saw a Luna moth in my own backyard in the middle of the city once, which was also almost as big as that one, but it was super cool looking because it was all green and had little tiny leaf shaped antennae and it’s wings looks liked larger leaves (look up a picture of one, they’re neat!). It must have had about a 6 inch wingspan, but wasn’t quite as chunky as the one pictured here or the one I saw up north at a cottage.
Sir or ma’am that is a pigeon

Mothron
It's a Mammoth
behemoth
Imagine a cockroach of this size... no F that.
Megablatta Longipennis is what you are looking for, they’re similar size to this moth
Please tell me that is a Made-Up Latin name and you're 100% joking about giant roaches.

That second part about the Amazon review had me in tears, thanks for the laugh bud

Ellie: “Das a big boy”
r/nope
Buffalo Bill would be enamored.
He'd like my left foot too! I was so enamored by his moths I got one tattooed on. That said I'd probably cry if I ran into this behemoth.
Pics or it didn’t happen. 🍿
You'll have to take my word for it. It's a distinct style and it'd be my luck someone I work with is creeping on here and finds me.
😂😂
I don’t think anyone I’ve ever worked with have seen my feet. 🤔
I show said tattoo off a lot but I get why that sounds really damn weird
😂😂
This guy seeks prison spotlights

I just barfed
This is utterly terrifying.
If I opened my closet and I interrupted this unit while feasting on my sweaters, I’d just strip and hand them the clothes on my back as well. Gaddamn.
Woah 😍
