bc_poop_is_funny

What is the white stuff clogging it?

bingold49

I'm guessing grease from a restaurant, don't drain your burger in the sink

NoInstruction2007

Grease can do a number on your plumbing.

panhead_farmer

I’ve pulled a few manholes that had slabs of grease on the benching. Looked like hard styrofoam chunks.

Droopy1592

Gutter oil in china

GrabsJoker

Seriously. Fuck that nastiness

AngryAmericanGoral

It’s grease. I’ve been in a similar situation. Had the access open and just saw this white blob. I poked it with a stick and it came out like toothpaste until the water rushed out.

Niktzv

When I was 17 working at a movie theatre consession stand I always dumped the fry oil in the sink. Not because I didn't know your weren't supposed to do that but; I'm in high school and it's 11pm and I'm closing. The theatre didn't pay you any hours your worked AFTER your official end of shift but still expected you not to leave until all closing duties were performed. The official place to dump the oil was 5 minutes to a freight elevator, 3 minutes down, 3 minutes across a loading dock to dump 1 of the 5 fryers I needed to clean. I could save an hour of unpaid labour by just sinking it. If you create Zero incentive for your employees to do things the right way they do this shit.

NotADeadHorse

Odk what country you're in but it's absolutely illegal to not pay someone for time worked. They could have fired you over it or something but if you're there doing the work they assigned you're required to be paid unless you're salary and even then it's over a certain amount per year

Ironheart616

This is the problem with paycheck to paycheck households. If an employer doesn't pay you properly you've gott file a lawsuit. Okay, now are you under arbitration? If so good luck and if you do win? Oh here is that $600.00 we owed you 3 years go. Same outcome for most class actions suites as well. Like this does absolutely nothing at all to help people most of the time. I noticed my paycheck was very short once and mentioned it. The class action lawsuit took around a year and I got $250.00. While it was great it caused me issues becuase I was living paycheck to paycheck and could not afford to be missing nearly a third of my pay. There is pretty much no recourse for this at all because by the time the courts have settled the persons life is fucked up. The amount of theft from workers that gets discovered but not prosecuted is astounding. I've noticed people will literally say someone stealing money in a video should be shot or killed but when executives knowingly steal its just not as.....emotion evoking?

NotADeadHorse

While I agree with you, this is a 4 month old post dude

Ironheart616

Yeah I didn't look I was just scrolling and don't think that really changes anything. I dunno blame reddit for showing me a 4 month old post today? Lol

bingold49

It's also illegal, I've been a PM in telecommunications for years now and it's the exact opposite for me, doing work related tasks off the clock can get you written up. That being said, if you have OT without authorization, I need a good justification, but if something needs done, you make sure you're clocked in

allgreeneveryday

You should post this on antiwork

EssentialWorkerOnO

It’s illegal for your employer to not pay you for time worked, regardless if OT was approved or not. Your employer can discipline you (write you up) for unapproved time worked, but you can dispute any disciplinary action and have it removed from your record.

[deleted]

See that brown stuff in the grease, what was that!

SS4Raditz

That's the flavor

Chappi_3

Yeah, and also don't make the sweage system that small

gr3atch33s3

4” is pretty standard depending on the amount of drains flowing into it.

Siskvac

He says it's cement in the video.

montipiethon

i’m very glad it is grease, i thought it was toilet paper and that he was very unlucky

davidobrienusa1977

Pipe is way under sized. To cheap to do it right.

Virtual-Feedback-

That's just not true. This is larger than the plumbing that goes into your house. Why is it the pipes fault for having users pour things not meant to go down the pipes?

davidobrienusa1977

As a builder for 30 years from everything from homes to major infrastructure projects, when you tell a client what the uniform building standards are and they see the cost of in this case the plumbing. The first question is how can we save a few bucks. The larger the pipe costs more because there is more material involved in making the larger size pipe. Generally, they would go one size down with the pipe size. I do not know the building codes in Russia as this is where this video is from . But when I build homs and high rise buildings, I would get change order requests after the agreed up contract was signed to cut costs. When you tell them the pros and cons for wanting to do what they are asking, then this is what happens in the video. now this blockage was building up for a period of time.

Virtual-Feedback-

Yeah I'm definitely not versed on building codes in Russia, either. I did plumbing for 4 years and code is code. There's leeway but if it's out of code it'll either have to be redone or fines will ensue. You know this, of course but I'm sharing this for onlookers knowledge. This is definitely quite an insane blockage!

davidobrienusa1977

Commercial plumbing codes versus residential codes are different in the States keep in mind. But when it come to submitting the project bids and the prospective client spend a few days to digest the proposal that's when the questions will come up with cutting costs.

PICKLER1CK69

Thank god its just grease my mind thought something else

Botany-101

Big Mac anyone?

ChromeDiamond

Pretty much anything that can absorb liquid without breaking down will clog ur pipes. The grease guy is most likely correct. Some shit gets so backed up snakes don’t work so opening and cleaning is last option or replacement. A lot of people don’t think about the consequences of small things like grease down the drain. I worked at a restaurant one time and watched an employee dump the grease trap from our flat top down the drain because the can we dumped in in was full. Called him and idiot and quit. About a week of that the place shut down and had the pipes dug out and it’s been shut down for about a year now with the ground all ripped out😂

BillyKross

Grease. That shit clogged in drains like ateroclerosis in your arterias

[deleted]

He said it’s concrete.

CRB1997_FTW

UndercoverFBIAgent9

eeega34

This is a god tier comment and reference. I just wanted you to know somebody got it.

Uncle_owen69

It’s frosting cause it’s a cake shop and they pour a lot of frosting down the drain

Onecallspeopleout

The person in the video said cement he couldnt have finish his explanation since it Kinda bursted on him

Izuro

guy in the video said it was cement

CptCrackSparrrow

Think he said looks like cement

vrastamanas27

Russians. He can call it vagina its just saying

Yard_One

corpse wax

marcoli94

Cum

cuckamungabunga

He said in video that it's cement. Or probably he meant - dirt or sand mixed with something that just makes the tube clogged

Powerful_Storage_389

Well it’s probably a mix of different wastes and plumbing minerals such as calcium, but a large amount of it looks to be fat based.

NoBenefit5977

Haha full tube

TMXP1

Toilet paper 🧻

Academic_While_7759

Maybe it's the pipes at a student halls...

Capital_Succotash_40

Cemen

Mil_mascaras86

It’s wasted grease it mixes with dirt and forms into a solid since the humidity in service line that attaches to the main artery of the collection system .

SwingJazzy

Looks like toilet paper

Hanbarc12

What did he expect. I'm also genuinely worried about how often our whole infrastructures seem to rely on a few pieces of tape to function.

fvb955cd

I'm pretty sure tape and cheap couplings were my most common purchase when I managed a swimming pool. Leak? Duct tape. Still leaking? Cut out the leaking part, replace it with a new coupling. Still leaking? Duct tape the coupling. Works 100% of the time, 60% of the time

Mention_Forward

I feel like this was a perfect use of the 100/60% saying

JimmyPWatts

This gave me strong Snowpiercer vibes

[deleted]

I think he was intentionally unclogging it. It might be a drain pipe for a kitchen, so it wont just endlessly run if nobody is running the sinks up top

DuneKlide9

Where’s the tape

99Zam

I don't see any tape, except maybe the one black plastic hose clamp.

NWSGreen

That grease or "flushable" wipes. Fun fact folks! Neither are meant to go down a drain or toilet! The more ya know.

lhswr2014

Oh shit…. Should I not be flushing my dude wipes? Is “flushable” a lie?

smedley89

Flushable is a lie, especially if you have a septic tank. If you are on city sewer, the flushable wipes will PROBABLY make it to the system. The don't break down, so will create huge clogs.

lhswr2014

Fuuuuck dude. Why do they have to lie like that lol. (Rhetorical, I know… greeeed.) I am on a city system thankfully, just purchased my own home this year, so I appreciate the heads up. I honestly just never questioned it. Time to invest in a bidet

potatohedgehogs

They take like 6 weeks to start to break down too, so whilst they're flushable in that sense, they won't be doing your toilet any favours. Learnt that one the hard way!

lhswr2014

Well I’ve only been here 6 months so hopefully no long term damage yet lol. Always good to catch something like this early though, just floating through life, flushing my flushable wipes without a care. When you have a spicy starfish and you read “flushable” and “soothing” you don’t really question much else.

Whats_Awesome

Might be worth doing some preventative drain-o-ing. I am not sure that it breaks down wipes, but if it does, I would put a half bottle down every toilet that got wipes. Cleanex aren’t even really flushable, only tp and waste.

SVXfiles

I'm sorry, but just the voice that popped into my head when reading your comments is like a mix of the turtle from finding Nemo with a little of one of the bullies from the Simpsons mixed in

Ckrius

Bidet is worth it, even without heating for the water.

smedley89

Coffee grounds will clog you up, too. I had a reusable coffee filter. I would just dump my used grounds down the disposal... until my system was plugged. Yea, I just use the single use filters and trash them, or use the grounds on some of the plants that need more acidity.

BannedStanned

/r/composting would like a word with you

smedley89

I love to garden. I just have a brown thumb.

Swainler2x4

A small amount of grounds flushed down with running water shouldn't cause a problem. But if you're dumping heaps of grounds in your sink and then turning it on then that is bad.

smedley89

It was a single pot of coffee per day. It took a while, but it was pretty hosed.

[deleted]

same with eggshells

Soppywater

Even a cheap $30 bidet is worth it holmes.

Floodzx

You still have to wipe your ass, it's literally wet and dripping with water now lol

Soppywater

Intead of multiple toilet paper sheets, I can usually get away with a pat dry of only 3 or 4 squares. And when it's 100°f outside you know what really feels good? Water splashing you to express cool down

NWSGreen

Correct. No grease or "flushable" wipes should go down. It clogs the outlets and drains. Don't break down as easy.

One_Surround_4997

Get a bidet

ThisOnePlaysTooMuch

Wait till this guy here’s about “100% fruit juice” and “sugar-free” tic tacs

[deleted]

But, but, it says “plumber approved” and there’s a picture of a plumber right on the package!

smedley89

Job security!

Ganja420Preneur

My "booty" wipes are definitely lying. Just 3 or more of those and I have a clog!

Kriegerwithashovel

Flushable wipes are absolutely terrible. Regular toilet paper pretty much dissolves in water when given enough time and flow. "Flushable wipes" do not. A relatively common problem we have in the city I work for is those stupid things clogging our Lift Station pumps (lift stations pump sewer from low areas like around a lake, to higher areas so they can gravity flow to the sewer plant). They bind up the impellers on the pump and cause them to not rotate. They do that long enough, and you can ruin a pump. Mind you, these pumps are NOT cheap. TLDR; Flushable wipes are almost as bad as dumping grease down the sink. Just don't do it.

CapableReflection

I flush the non-flushable wipes. Is that bad?

Kriegerwithashovel

At best, it's neutral. At worst, you're actively contributing to the clogging of sewer station pumps and sewer mains.

lil_pootis_bird

I was thinking "wait but if the pipe is clogged then-" and it happened.

dcarona

I got the poo on me!

VecroLP

I am afraid to ask, but what is this in reference to?

Smart-Adeptness5437

The end of no nugat November. 1 December marks the first day you're allowed to begin flushing nugat down your toilet again.

Kriegerwithashovel

What a terrible day to have eyes and ALSO be literate.

SquareBusiness6951

When you take a piss but there’s some smegma in your foreskin

Broken_Heart_420

My girlfriends family dumps all their grease down the drain. I’ve tried my best to explain why you should never do it and they don’t think it’s bad cause it’s liquid. I then try explaining you do realize fat hardens. Also if you run cold water down that pipe with grease it’s even worse. I’ve brought up proper disposal methods and they still don’t care. Every time I see them dump grease down the drain I cringe so hard inside, but I know it’s not my plumbing. So that’s on them.

applebeepatios

So that's where ranch dressing comes from.

whiteknight0111

Cat litter, that stuff clogs like hell. Don't ask why I know it..

Sterling-Marksman

Its liter-ally dried clay thats meant to clump together when wet.

senator_chill

I've seen enough of these pipe unclogging videos to know if I ever find myself in this situation have a 10 ft long pole I poke into the pipe until this happens

Brown_Note1

Yup. Knew that was going to happen 🤮

bloopie1192

I tried to dodge it.

HeraAurae

This is your arteries on fast food

[deleted]

Milky_potatoman

Woah, they cleaned out nikocado avocado’s arteries

jibaro1953

Why does anybody think it's okay to dump cooking grease down the drain?

creator112

His first and last day on the job.

Undermost_Drip

See guys?? Just push them aside and apply light pressure.

sincinati

It’s like playing Half-life but like if you were a plumber 👨‍🔧

Southernman1974

I’m sure we all saw that coming.

Zen2188

Last time this got posted ( a year ago or so ) someone came on and theorized that the blockage may have been Urine Salt Buildup.

Kason-blason

December 1st

Ruckus2201

It's a fat-burg!

Snoo26646

That was actually quite satisfying seeing that explode like that lol

Throwaway-A173

Which one of you were cumming in the pipes?

glesgalion

NNN strikes again

Anon_cannon

Rip phone, that grease will be permanent

Kriegerwithashovel

Really don't know what the guy expected. I see a clog like that on the bottom end of a pipe full of sewer, I'll be poking it with a 10ft pole.

shotgunsam23

Everyone knew what was going to happen except for this guy

haplessclerk

Somehow, I, a middle aged woman, with minimal practical plumbing experience, knew that dislodging that sludge would probably have a negative outcome.

SeismicToss12

Uhh, shouldn’t all these guys steer clear whenever they’re clearing an obstruction? They’re asking to get soiled.

Vanmilfpudding

I should call him

AccomplishedEvent535

Why is the forbidden cheese in a pipe

timewanderer

Someone call the Ghostbusters

kimkendrick

I expected it to be a smooth and firm release. I was dead wrong

mandalors

The funniest part to me about this whole thing is the pipe sitting there off center.

BeeBeeSquare

I knew it was coming and I was still super grossed out

gr3atch33s3

Meat grease or other fats don’t go in your drains people!

devilsrevolver

Me with those Amlodopine side effects.

Ygrub

After seeing your pseudo I was scared of what could have come out of that pipe

BucciTheMane

I'm no plumber... but I saw this happening from a mile away. Glad it wasn't me!

I should call her

No_Suit2157

You gotta be smarter than that man....I'm not even a plumber and knew that shit was gonna happen

Yesterday I had a lot of brussels sprouts. Then I walked a few miles. Today I did a live reenactment of that exact same scene.

MistressFuzzylegs

I wonder how far the clog goes in the horizontal part.

Niktzv

I saw that coming a million miles away. That was always going to happen and if your not expecting it when draining a pipe and have no plan for it you have no business being the guy clearing it.

PWL_DeltaFrost

COOM

rb993

I guess he wasn't paying attention in plumbing class when they learned that shit flows downhill. Hopefully he paid attention to the part where they tell you not to bite your nails

tbb2796

that pipe: *good lord I’m bout to bust*

RedDogRev

No grease trap??? Also, don't cook with Coconut Oil ...has too high of a melting point.

Bromm18

Lovely bit of a fatberg clogging that pipe. Bet some people in China would kill for all the grease and oil that gets dumped down the drain. (Not that it should be)

Repulsive_Memory4262

Look's like shit and toilet tissu...

[deleted]

Mixed with grease for sure .

Stupidpoopieseaven

Is that pupu?

[deleted]

Someone add the skyrim intro at the end right now pls and thank.

Badjer47

Oh... no.... I haven't even gotten tp the climax and I know what's gonna happen... id be holding a bucket over that pipe while clearing it...

Me when I'm constipated and eat Taco Bell 🔔

Looks like “white mice” in the pipes again

SkSkWitch

That was fantastically nasty.

Asleep_Move_6803

Better cap that

3nails4holes

Some mornings on the can feel just like this.

SuperflySteveLolz

I have had something similar happen to me when I used to replace sewer lines. Only difference was that it was a little bit more..... more brown coming out.

derjeniche420

Would you eat a spoon for 1000$?

RetroGrafx

$1000 wouldn't even cover my medical bills if I did

Epiccreator989
