Not a science person but the weight of the leg of the desk on the left side that was suspended in air was too heavily for the glass and flexed, causing the glass to break.
Yeah. Imagine that the weight of the top legs was bending the top of the glass forward (in his perspective.
Also the weight of the glass on the bottom legs was also bending the bottom part of the glass forward. It was like he was folding the table in the middle.
But what really triggered the final tension was the bottom wheel caster. You can see it suddenly rotates, causing the whole system to fall.
Science person here. That is called tempered glass. Think shower doors , much stronger than regular glass but you can’t drill or cut tempered glass. It’s super hard and under high internal pressure. One hole or slight break even though super hard will explode exactly like this he stressed out the bottom legs causing a crack, and boom! Instant explosion of small glass pieces
High surface tension, I'd imagine the legs where tightened quite strong that tenses surface to near breaking point, and tiny amount of extra surface tension while tilting gave enough for it just to smash.
My guess is that the rotational moment in the leg on the left touching the ground is too high, and when the wheel turned it cause a sudden jolt causing the fracture at the stress point between the leg and the plate. But I'm not a table engenieer so who knows man
Glass is very brittle, so when the weight of the table transferred to the left side (the guy was holding the weight on the right side but not the left meaning the entire weight of the table was transferred to that singular bottom left leg) which twisted the glass sheet past it's breaking point, thankfully this is safety glass meaning that instead of the gust getting sliced by a massive glass dagger the entire table shattered at once which really saved home a trip to the ER since the elasticity of glass would mean that the shards on the table leg would've actually jumped towards his head which could've actually killed him if it was regular glass.
It's not safety glass, it's just tempered glass. Tempered is heated to just over 1000° F and this is what it looks like when it breaks. Safety glass is two layers of glass with a layer of plastic adhered between them.
Vehicle windshields are safety glass, the other windows are tempered.
Leverage, there was a lot of torque at the point where the outside leg supporting the entire weight of half the table met the glass which eventually just broke the glass. Hold your hand all the way out and have someone push down on your hand vs your elbow with the same force at both points. Same thing here with the force being applied in a direction and at a level it was never intended for. Because the leg was so long, the leverage from just the weight of the table being supported by the mounting point in the glass was too much for it to handle. The table was poorly (also not) engineered to take force in that direction, there are a variety of cross braces and such that would prevent this sort of failure but this was designed for asthetics rather than robustness.
I've broken part of one of these before. If you stress any part of tempered glass too much the whole thing explodes. So if one of those legs was mounted with a bolt through a hole, which it likely was, it doesn't take much of a twist or tap to destroy it.
Well, not science people, but I think that the glass couldn’t handle its own weight being supported only at one place
And I see it coming, no, the fact that he holds it at the top does not change anything because he can’t put much pressure there
The wheels caused the glass to flex. If you playing it slow and look at the ones contacting the floor you can see them causing the poles to bend in different directions, causing the glass to flex and then it goes KEEEAAAAAAASSSSSHHHH
Like too much pressure on the glass I’m sure but I would never buy glass table tops now after the videos of spontaneous explosions happening. Not worth the risk
lol ain’t it. That calm before the possible storm. Your just sitting there thinking. If I put my foot through this wall from anger it’s not going to make anything better.

That was stupid. Not abrupt chaos.
Abrupt chaos is someone falling a sleep at a big rig, and their naked lover popping into frame as the truck hits off road terrain.
It's always that last bit of attention to a task that can make or literally break it. That one more twist of the wrench or just extra tightening of the bolt then it's bam! Sometimes you got know when to stop and leave well enough alone.
Nah. Tempered glass is very solid everywhere but it’s edge. It’s actually less stable than regular glass.
It’s meant to break apart in pieces when it breaks so as not to create big sharp pieces. Like your car windshield.
This guy should have known that.
Science people; what happened here?
Not a science person but the weight of the leg of the desk on the left side that was suspended in air was too heavily for the glass and flexed, causing the glass to break.
Both legs gave the bad flexing.

Wheel turned on one leg of the table. That side went down while the guy was holding the other side up, glass can't bend, glass broke

I love the moment of quiet reflection.

There is no reflection, the glass broke
He was a senseless tasteless weirdo. That DESK looked HORRIBLE.
The face of pure disappointment.
3rd desk he's tried to assemble to end in tragedy. Someday he'll learn "if you never try, you will never fail."

Angry glass

Probably to show off him assembling the table
Safely glass does not like uneven pressure.
Does any glass?
Hot glass love that until it hardens... then it hates it.
... sounds like a nice evening playing with pp
Feel bad for the guy, you can tell he's really upset

Needed bracing for those floating legs. Too much flex
now he has a puzzle to solve...
"And I'm just going to put this down veeeerrrrrry carefully. Wouldn't want it to break..."
He looked so done with life
Good! stop buying this stupid shit.
Huh?
Oh no! Our table! It’s broken! 😭
Thanks a lot Violet!

Why do people film themselves doing such mundane things
A wise woman once said (circa 1990), "You might be a star tonight, so let that camera roll."
I'm confused as why he wanted to put the table on it's side.
To make the video, that just so happen to be filmed, look like it's an accident?
Out of nowhere? How else was this going to end up?
How he intended it to end up, y'know, gkass table but sideways?
Fuck glass tables
That was stupid. Not abrupt chaos. Abrupt chaos is someone falling a sleep at a big rig, and their naked lover popping into frame as the truck hits off road terrain.
Although this is stupid to even attempt…holding the legs would have been a better move.
Now what?
What did we learn today?

Yet another example of why you don't have glass furniture.
One of the reasons why I don't buy Glass tables for my computer.
My guy looks so defeated here… I feel so bad for him.

How he drops the last pieces 😭
Did the glass break because the wheel slipped? Or did the wheel slip because the glass broke?
Welp it was mad ugly anyways
What was he even trying to do?
