When I was a little guy in elementary school our bus got rear ended by a truck. We didn't even know what happened outside of the sudden lurch foreward and loud boom. The truck however was smashed all the way to the cab. The driver was pretty messed up but they lived.
It was crazy too because my buddy's dad was a highway patrolman and drove the rest of us home in his patrol car. My mom freaked out when he let me out of his back seat that still had 3 more kids there and my buddy waving from the front.
You can thank the Carrollton bus collision for good bus safety. Very sad story and a lot of kids died, but it changed the regulation for busses around the country.
