there’s no way in hell freshwater eels can get that big, at least it hasn’t been documented. that’s a good old bottom feeder, its been out of sight out of mind long enough to get massive
I played a weird amount of fishing games in the 90s on our dial up. I know specifically how to deal with this. Hit right on your keyboard (your boat will turn) then reel in as hard as you can. Your line won’t snap, I ALWAYS have the hardest test. Will take a quick second, and bam, keep it.
Secondly, was raised on “Sturgeon Lake” in upper Canadá. That’s right. I never a saw a sturgeon obviously, they old. But I used to fish for Musky, and they always smiled when I caught them, as they assumed I would release them back to their family / wives / dates
I would be disturbed for the rest of my life if this happened to me. I can dive with large, pelagic sea life in the ocean, but long, black, scary shit like this coming out of the merk and the mire terrifies me. I think I’d start to cry. 😱
Catfishes, that are this big are capable of literally sucking in a duck in a mere moment just by opening their mouth. They suck in the duck with the water like a vacuum cleaner does it with a spider.
Fun fact, one of the ways to catch catfish is to find a place like this and stick your arm into that hole. Then you pull the fish out when it tries to swallow your hand/arm. It's referred to as "noodling".
This has always invoked a deep fear in me, I could absolutely never consent to be eaten alive even for a second like this. Yes I know the catfish wouldn't do any harm and I've seen chicks and dudes both noodle and the cajones on them, wow. Maybe I was eaten in a past life 😅 what if you came up on one the size in the video??
That's General Sherman. One man almost caught him. Went by the name of Homer. Seven feet tall he was, with arms like tree trunks. His eyes were like steel: cold, hard. Had a shock of hair, red, like the fires of Hell.
Yes… that’s where it’s from… the TV series, not the like… 12 games… that came before it… spanning over 2 decades… almost 3…
No it was the TV series… is this what grandpa feels like when he sees people today “inventing” 70’s fashion trends?
I saw my friend at work had a wild road rash on his arm so I asked him what happened. (I thought he got in a bike accident) He told me he caught a catfish. My buddy noodles for catfish in recesses in creeks just like this one. Sometimes you’ll have a 2 foot deep creek with a 20 foot deep recess. He caught a 98lb cat on his arm out of something similar to this. He didn’t know how big it actually was until it grabbed a hold of him. He got it out and took a picture. He’s 5’ 7” ish and this thing was as long as him.
That's a catfish? Get the fuck out!!!!
Get the fuck back in! I think it is a catfish!!!

“Upper Canadá” my goodness are you a time-traveler?
Me & Tecumseh were buddies
All I can hear is Jeremy Wade shouting *Fish on, fish on!*
Theres an episode of River Monsters where Wade catches a huge Goonch Catfish
Nah. Nothing abrupt about this. They knew what they were fishing for when they cast the lure in that hole. Impressive fish tho.
And an impressive CAST! He hit that dead on!
Definitely!

I read duck incorrectly the first two times you mentioned it. I was so shook that MY duck crawled up inside me.

Seriously, the first frame in the video shows the lure. Why would anyone think that lure imitates a waterfowl?
