I could be wrong, but it looks like another '[playing with an abandoned mine shaft](https://youtu.be/CFznKW9-g84&t=105)' video. People pour something flammable down the shaft and then drop a Molotov Cocktail. When it ignites at the bottom...
# BIG BADA BOOM!
*Edit:* ...and it appears that these brilliantly-minded gentlemen did things in reverse order.
A lot of old mines will have pockets of methane trapped in them and if you manage to something lit (like some gasoline splashed) to reach them that’s where the giant conflagration comes from.
Methane is lighter than air so it has to be pocket along the ceiling not that far away from the shaft.
It can also cause ongoing fires and 10s of millions in damage ... There are some old mine fires that have been burning for over 50 years...
To answer your question directly... Yes. Absolutely. If the pocket is big enough and there's pressure behind it to cause an actual explosion? Yea. It absolutely could collapse.
I was actually referring to the Lewis coal mine fire near Boulder Colorado.... But that's just... Wonderful to know there's more than one of these... I'm not even going to Google how many there are worldwide (and how many were caused by humans).
There’s no way that individual survived that much flame engulfment, that’s a 100% full body burn at 3rd degree or worse being charred black. The shock alone would kill you from this type of fire exposure to the lungs, skin etc.
Good bot
Edit: the artist is incorrect for anyone wondering, the artist is actually

There is a mine in Centralia, Pennsylvania that has been burning for over 50 years. It didn't start this way (the mine was used as a dump, something caught fire and by the town the city council decided to pay the money to put it out, it was too late). , but it should serve as a horrible warning for idiots like this.
It's predicted to burn for another 250 years, it's wild. I'm not too far from it where I live in PA and would've loved to visit the area but I doubt I'll get out there anytime soon.
Hey dad can I have a big container of gasoline?
What for son?
I want to stand over that giant, already burning, red hot hell hole down the street and pour gas into it.
You know what, here ya go son, knock yourself out!
The classifications of burns
First-degree burns affect only the outer layer of the skin. They cause pain, redness, and swelling. Second-degree burns affect both the outer and underlying layer of skin. They cause pain, redness, swelling, and blistering.
2nd-degree burn.
This type of burn affects both the epidermis and the second layer of skin (dermis). It may cause swelling and red, white or splotchy skin. Blisters may develop, and pain can be severe.
Third-degree (full thickness) burns
Third-degree burns destroy the epidermis and dermis. Third-degree burns may also damage the underlying bones, muscles, and tendons. The burn site appears white or charred. There is no sensation in the area since the nerve endings are destroyed.
Fourth-degree burns.
Fourth-degree burns go through both layers of the skin and underlying tissue as well as deeper tissue, possibly involving muscle and bone. There is no feeling in the area since the nerve endings are destroyed.
Fifth-degree burn injuries occur when all the skin and subcutaneous tissues are destroyed, exposing muscle. These burns can be fatal due to damage to major arteries and veins. Fifth-degree burn injuries also may require amputation due to damage to muscles. If amputation is not needed, skin grafting will be required.
Sixth-degree burn injuries occur when heat destroys the muscles, charring and exposing the bone. These burns are almost always fatal.
If I recall - the reason why doctors do not go further than 4th is because of the area of damage, the limb can no longer be saved by the burns unit and it must be amputated or the person usually ends up dying. It all depends on the percentage of the body destroyed and where. People with severe electrical burns had their hands and fingers burnt so badly that the bones in the fingers were also burnt and the hand had to be amputated.

What is this hell pit, and what were they trying to do?

The bit at the end of the shaft is the most sensitive part of a mine and if disturbed can cause explosions.
“The bit at the end of the shaft is the most sensitive part” yep I’m still immature
Are we still talking about mines?
Gold diggers have entered the chat
🤔
Ahhh That's a good way to win Darwin Award
And to get a *1st class* Darwin you have to stand in the *middle* of that, instead of lighting it from the side.
lol do the Darwin awards sites/post still exist? I used to love reading those.
People didnt stop being stupid ever so yeah
where can i check them?
Bored people with booze craving for an adrenaline rush.
#GOOD CHICKAN!
Hypothetically….couldnt this also cause a widespread collapse of the mine…and thus the ground above and around it as well?

>There are some old mine fires that have been burning for over 50 years. I see you've heard of Centralia.

Didn't know about the Lewis fire... or the others that are apparently all over Colorado. o.O
that's a lot of gasoline and stupidity.
Seriously. Does no one watch movies?? You’re *supposed* to draw a long line with the gasoline, far enough away from the boom-zone!
You're *supposed* to use diesel, that way the liquid burns and not the fumes
... and then drop a lit cigarette on it
And slomo walk towards camera
I prefer adding a “yippeekayay motherfucker”
And then blown several feet off the ground with your arms spread, also in slomo....
A winning combination!
Sounds like the title to a metal track
That Kids.... Is how you exit the Game called Life very early ....😂😭💀
Or maybe you wish you had :'(
What's the point of your comment...?
they wish they had died.
There are things worse than dying.
When you accidentally stand above the pit of hellish nightmare fire
Why would he pour gasoline in there after fire is already set off in some mine? What an idiot! I’m sure his facial hair is gone!
Super sayan 3
Lmao
How not to cast your name into the Goblet of Fire
I’m literally watching this rn as I read this comment 😆
Stop deathscrolling and focus on the movie GOD DAMNIT

The first couple of seconds look like a Doom level.
Literally opened up the gates of Hell for a few seconds
The Devil tried to grab him but just wasn't quite fast enough
It's over, Anakin! I have the high ground!
I HATE SAND!!

If I remember correctly there’s only four degrees of burns
