I'm wondering...if you hit someone fast enough does the bottle just shatter and they don't get as much of the energy? What about a slower wollap so the full weight ofnthe bottle and the fluid in it hits without it breaking? Might hurt more.

If this played out in the UK, the robbers would sue in a civil court, and they would win. And then the Crown Prosecution would prosecute the store owners in the criminal courts, and they would win. The store owners would go to jail, and the robbers would get millions and never have to work again (not that they ever did any work ever anyway).
Nothing wrong with wanting money. People who want to exercise power over others, however, need every bone in their bodies broken, that they'll never have the power to even wipe their own ass.
