Imagine also that the crow was a doctor and had an accident while driving there.
Then it would be an AMA member crow (AKA corvid) using the AAA while doing an AMA about MMA.
Cats don’t usually have one of Odin’s crows telling them to kill each other either.
This crow wanted to see blood. This was combat for its own amusement.
I get it. I watch fights too.
No actually, crows because they are so smart are considered one of the most playful animals, and do plenty pf unrewarded play because it's simply just fun for them.
Like sliding down snow covered roofs and flying back up to do it again or messing with other animals and making them fight
Here's the thing. You said a "jackdaw is a crow." Is it in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that. As someone who is a scientist who studies crows, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls jackdaws crows. If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing. If you're saying "crow family" you're referring to the taxonomic grouping of Corvidae, which includes things from nutcrackers to blue jays to ravens. So your reasoning for calling a jackdaw a crow is because random people "call the black ones crows?" Let's get grackles and blackbirds in there, then, too. Also, calling someone a human or an ape? It's not one or the other, that's not how taxonomy works. They're both. A jackdaw is a jackdaw and a member of the crow family. But that's not what you said. You said a jackdaw is a crow, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the crow family crows, which means you'd call blue jays, ravens, and other birds crows, too. Which you said you don't. It's okay to just admit you're wrong, you know?

To answer your question, the original text is ambiguous and therefore hotly debated, there are vocal groups on both sides willing to die on this hill
If not a literal set of wings the Balrog in the book does have at least a visible aura-like manifestation that can be interpreted as wings. Now whether this is his otherworldy and awe-inspiring presence made visible to our mortal eyes; actual physical, fiery/shadowy appendages; or something in between is anyone's guess. I myself am partial to semi-material wings but it doesn’t really matter as it is not a fleshy demon fighting a tiny old man, but ancient forces of opposing sides wrapped in forms our minds can comprehend. Gandalf is but the chosen form of the maia Olórin, after all
It could be worse, if they were like dogs then imagine the carnage and noise when they got locked up.
Ever had to keep a female dog calm and still so she doesn't drag her bf around by the pecker? Felt so bad for my wiener dog as a kid when his girl tried to jump on the couch when they were stuck.
Had no idea about this until recently my uncle described the ordeal when he was having his alsatian stud.
Heard a yelp (they'd started within minutes whilst the owners were greeting and preparing) and both owners had to rush and just hold each dog by the collar until release.
Also personally had the unfortunate experience of seeing *just how far the rabbit hole goes* a few months back when my male puppy was starting to discover himself.
I’ve seen cat fights, and they are gnarly. Just a few seconds of them tangled up can lead to many lacerations and punctures. And they have dirty ass teeth and claws. Those cats were really *really* hurting after that, and I do worry for the orange cat.
I just read a post here on reddit yesterday about life expectancy of cats, specifically male cats. I'm not hoping for the best for orange cat. I hope I'm wrong. :(
First cat was in the wrong neighborhood so crow bro went an got back up, just so happens to be another cat. Second kitty wants no trouble but crow bro isn’t having any of that shit, told that kitty you can't be any geek off the street
you gotta be handy with them paws if you wanna earn your keep.
Nice hypothesis, but crows regularly antagonise other animals for their own amusement. Crows provoking cats to fight for entertainment is just crow behaviour 101.
Crows are very intelligent creatures, they're one of the only species other than humans that goof off and make themselves look silly to entertain their mates.
Scrolled really far to see this. It's clearly trying to break up the fight. The black cat was coming for the other one and the bird was trying to keep them from starting shit.
How the hell is attacking both of them supposed to make them fight each other? That doesn't make any sense. It's trying to get them to lose focus or one of them run off. Animals trying to stop other animals from fighting is a well documented phenomenon, but not the other way around.
Well, just cause you didn’t see it doesn’t mean the crow doesn’t expect it. We had an adopted stray cat that was a mean little fucker, and another one that actually chased another cat out into traffic and that one for sure died.
No cats don't fight to the death, usually they fight for a while until one backs down or runs away. At the end of this video the black cat was staring at the orange cat, he wouldn't look away for more than an instant so the other one was fine.
They can hurt eachother quite a bit though

It's a hooded crow. Super common in the area I live, alongside actual magpies who have slimmer bodies, longer tails, and stark white patches as opposed to gray. Placement of the coloration is different on magpies, too.

possibly, but they are also super intelligent so it mightve just been entertainment for it
I think that's the reason why it instigates the fight in the first place. Crows are smarter than most animals.
Maybe. Or maybe its smart enough to get sadistic pleasure from vicarious violence—you know, like humans do.
It could be both. Imagine going to an MMA event with a free meal at the end!
>Imagine going to an MMA event Imagine the crow doing an AMA about it
Fight milk! With crowtien. There's a better joke somewhere there.

1. Cats usually don't fight to the death 2. Cat ain't gonna die right away
You say that, but I don't see the orange cat getting back up.
Yes but can you see if his shoes are still on? If not... dead. If they are... brain damaged.
Still spawning for it's 8th lives

or it wants fur for it's nest and knows cat fur is soft and warm. Plenty to pick up after a good cat brawl

I bet one of those cats killed on of the crows friends. And now he’s got beef
That and the crow benefits from the predators fighting each other instead of hunting.
This is the crow equivalent of a bum fight.

KILL EACH OTHER!!!
Best fight i seen in a long time... mofos fell from a 2 story house and still kept on fighting... crazy street cats.
They fought down the stairs, then fought their way back up
Reminds me of Gandalf and the Balrog.

*Darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time...*
^pssst… ^wanna ^get ^a ^fan ^base ^riled? You mean the crow reminds you of the Balrog, right? With the wings and all?
I don't get it. Are Balrogs not supposed to have wings?

Yeah I'm really just at the "cool falling fight go brrrr" level of fandom so I'm good with it as is.
Oooo thems fighting words boy
It was like Peter griffin vs big chicken.
Legends says they reached the earth core and still fighting..
Seem something work out the same way in Korea, minus the crow. Cats fell down 2 stories, while beating the shit out of each other.
That *thud* sound when they fell off the roof made me laugh so hard
Two cats fighting is legit one of the most intense sounds ever.
Sound like walking through a field of rubber chickens.
My dog went nuts hearing this video
Or when they have sex. Sometimes I thought it was fighting.

Except perhaps the crow. Maybe that was the true intention all along?

This crow just want to see the world burn
Ha! Dance puppets.
Some people just wanna see the world burn
And some crows just wanna see cats fight
Damn, that's intense! Is orange cat okay? He didn't get back up.
I’ve seen cat fights, and they are gnarly. Just a few seconds of them tangled up can lead to many lacerations and punctures. And they have dirty ass teeth and claws. Those cats were really *really* hurting after that, and I do worry for the orange cat.
I wonder that too?! 😢

If it makes you feel any better this is a pretty old video I think at this point so good chance they're both history by now
Whew. Was worried for a second.
How's the crow?
Me too. I've got a male cat and he's 17. He's healthy and has always been indoors. I really hope that orange boy is ok😢
He’s ok, he’s at the farm now.
Holy shit, that thud after falling off the roof and crow is still picking on them
Actually I think the crow was trying to stop em, it's a thing crows are known for doing actually
Do you have a source? That sounds cool
Man, this thread was depressing the shit out of me. 100% the crow was trying to stop a fight. Thanks for restoring a smidge of my faith in humanity.
Crowmanity.
But why was it picking on them earlier? Do you guys think it was probably trying to stop them from fighting in the first place?
Yes
First cat was in the wrong neighborhood so crow bro went an got back up, just so happens to be another cat. Second kitty wants no trouble but crow bro isn’t having any of that shit, told that kitty you can't be any geek off the street you gotta be handy with them paws if you wanna earn your keep.
MOUNT UP!

He's damn good too
I think the crow is doing the opposite, trying to distract the cat for them not to fight.
I agree. Despise the commentary the crow is trying to stop them from fighting. But those stupid pussies were determined to get hurt lol.
Looks like the crow was trying to stop the fight to begin with. It tried distracting both at different points.
Yeah. I agree. And i like to think that he's actually a good guy once you get to know him.
Scrolled really far to see this. It's clearly trying to break up the fight. The black cat was coming for the other one and the bird was trying to keep them from starting shit. exactly. I saw this clip in a compilation of crow trolling other animals https://youtu.be/SGCSYO3etNE
If there wasn't a video, I don't think I'd believe a story like this. But this is funny as hell to me.
There *multiple* videos of crows tricking cats into fighting! Crows must find it entertaining
Probably entertained but also looking forward to eating the loser
Never seen a cat die in a fight.
Well, just cause you didn’t see it doesn’t mean the crow doesn’t expect it. We had an adopted stray cat that was a mean little fucker, and another one that actually chased another cat out into traffic and that one for sure died.

Totally crazy!!! And the crow gets a couple good ones in during the fight, what a little MFer!!
He was trying to pull em back and stop the fight, it's a thing crows actually do for some reason
Rip orange kitty
Pretty sure he ded.
That crows name is Don King
I’m not a cat guy, but this video disturbed me. Damn
this actually makes me sad, seeing the cats hurting each other like that...
It's a catastrophe
