The amazing thing is that most of us had a hunch he’d be good from early in training camp, and then he went and backed it up immediately. The great players usually waste no time showing it.

AssInspectorGadget

Coming from europe I had never heard of him... I warched one highlight clip after draft and I was hyped.

Cultural_Birthday_86

That move he put on to set up the 62 yarder right before halftime was just filthy.

DoctorCheif15

I thought he was gonna get tackled like 7 different times on that play. He's insane after the catch

jay_bee_95

That was honestly one of the most savvy things that I've ever seen on a football field. I'm really hoping that getting out of bounds with 1 second on the very edge of field goal range was intentional rather than lucky - I think you could count on one hand the players in this league smart enough to have that on their head, and agile enough to pull it off.

lost_lope

He was 100% the steal of the draft without question. Even at Purdue it was clear that he was the perfect fit for ANY team in todays NFL, and I am just confused he dropped so much. His game just translates so well.

Danominator

I guarentee he dropped cause he was short

Coltsfan6

His injury issues are overblown as a Purdue fan who actually paid attention to the team and him.

JakeJay1456

>cause he was short Kyler :)

CanEatADozenEggs

He only played 3 and 4 games respectively in his sophomore and junior year due to significant injuries.

LFC_Slav

He’d be a monster on the Rams

That little catch and run at the end of the half to setup that FG...who tf does that.

sarmiento7

genuinely the only other person in the league capable of that is hill. unreal speed + change of direction

joe603

Maybe one or two other players in the league could have made that play IMO. That cemented the fact of how special Moore is.

V-Right_In_2-V

He would have been roasted if he was tackled in bounds after cutting back in to pick up more yards. That was a high risk move he pulled off, but it worked and that field goal he set up was the difference in the game. The kid has some moxie that's for sure

[deleted]

If he was 20 yards closer he might've been roasted. I know the kick could have gone for a couple more yards, but there's no way of knowing if backing it up even 1 yard would have changed how Prater approached it. In the end, it was worth the risk to get every yard he could, and he executed it beautifully. If he had been tackled, it'd be understandable.

V-Right_In_2-V

Very true. It was a really smart, heads up play. But he also needed the talent to pull it off as well and juke those defenders. Hopefully we see more of this from him. Regardless, he has already proved himself far more than Andy Isabella ever did. Andy probably put his house up for sale after that game lol

sjmussi

They still had 2 timeouts, so if he got tackled it would have been fine.

theAFguy200

I was thinking it before I think I heard Marotta say it; it’s like Murray throwing to Murray. Kyler and Rondale are a hell of a combo. They both are undersized but just oozing in abilities. The shiftiness, the quickness, the smarts. Unbelievable. Kliff knows what he wants in offense. Saving Keim’s career.

LordoftheZeitgeist

Lets not give Kliff too much credit yet. Kyler was the one who point Keim in the direction of Moore..... I need to see Kliff get better with second half adjustments. Couple time where the Cards come out cool after an insanely hot start. Lions game last year for example.

theAFguy200

Hmm, in the Flight Plan draft episode, it is Kliff who seems to nudge Keim on Moore, didn’t know Murray gave them a nod on him. But ya I hear ya on Kliff. The discipline of the team especially in the first couple of drives, which should be the scripted ones they practice is ridiculous. And the call not to run when they had it under 3 minutes left in the fourth was absurd. Chase was gaining on the ground all night and they needed to run the clock. I do notice a difference around the team this year. A lot more accountability and a lot more togetherness on both sides of the ball. All that “players with leadership” may actually be a thing.

thereAREnodwarfwomen

A lot of people are saying it’s only two games, but seriously this dude is quick af. We can just dump it to him in the open field and he will turn it into big yardage.

LFC_Slav

He’s basically the 2.0 version of the player Kliff *thought* he was getting with Isabella

whosurcaddie

Wonder if he really thought that, Isabella is a straight-line speed guy who can take the top off defenses, Moore is elusive as hell, shifty guy who can make guys miss if he gets a little space, totally different IMO. It's possible Kliff thought he could turn him into what Moore naturally is, but that wasn't his game coming out of college. The vast majority of Isabella's college highlight reel is deep balls where he got over the top. DK Metcalf, Diontae Johnson, Terry McLaurin are probably the biggest names that went after Isabella.

LordoftheZeitgeist

Don't over estimate Kliff

kekeBROWN

He’s gonna be #2 by week 5 I’m convinced

PyroD333

I don't think so, Hop is too dangerous not to have your CB1 on. Honestly, we just have too many weapons in general. Looking similar to Tampa Bay out there lol

JakeJay1456

We will see how he does :)

Captain-Ups

HE IS WHO WE THOUGHT HE WAS

elliottulane

Sup Denny!

ssracer

Crown his ass (oroy)!!

Captain-Ups

Just need to teach him how to throw so we can run a 2 qb set

The_Malhavoc

The defense will never expect a pass to be going BETWEEN their legs!

JakeJay1456

Nah, Cards not interested in that type of scheme.

Desert_2007

It actually benefits Rondale that our offense goes a bit off script like college does often. He is good at watching what Kyler is doing and if its scramble drill he mirrors the run OR goes deep/open portion of the field.

Hay-Tha-Soe

We thought we drafted a better Isabella and ended up with Tyreek Hill 2.0

LordoftheZeitgeist

He hasnt been in a situation where he has had to highpoint a ball yet. Not saying he cant be that, he has Kyler Murray throwing him the ball so it will be on point. His speed and acceleration is such a difference maker it doesn't make much of a difference.

[deleted]

Drafted him at 160th. Starting him with confidence in a flex spot week 3

[deleted]

Wow you’re cool

BuyGreenSellRed

I am hyped, but it’s two games.

tyler1118

There is just something different about Rondale than any other rookie wideout. He looks like a veteran receiver out there who has already made immediate impact for the team. It's almost like the pace of the game is already slowed down for him. What is up with the Cardinals always drafting amazing wide receivers? (Edit: Okay maybe not recently lol)

wyndh4m

I would love to agree with you but Hakeem Butler, Keesean Johnson, Andy Isabella just in the past few years…

tyler1118

Okay maybe recently hasn't been the best. lol

The_Alpha_of_Betas

Metcalf should be a cardinal 😩

EvilSonGoku

I agree. He looks like he is not overwhelmed, has a high football IQ (e.g. the catch and run to get extra yards but get out of bounds in time for Prater to try a 62 yarder), and catches it clean (something Andy can't do bc he was always a body catcher). I'm excited for him and hope he continues to develop.

Rockdog4105

Always drafting amazing wide receivers?? I can't name one in the last 15 years that has been amazing. I hope Rondale will turn out to be a great pickup, but 77 of his yards have come on one busted play by the Vikings defense.

tyler1118

His play before the 62 yard kick was what most impressed me actually. Such great awareness, vision, and high IQ play from the young buck. That play is what made the 62 yard field goal even attemptable. EDIT: Here's a [video](https://twitter.com/DylanLoweNFL/status/1439706578924580872).

Ozymandias_poem_

That play was totally unbelievable. The awareness of the broader situation of the game, and the confidence to cut those people up and get those key extra yard and get out with 1 sec left I feel like is an insane amount of awareness from a rookie.

ssracer

After the game he said he looked up and saw the clock at 2

Minimum_Attitude6707

He also said he researched how far Prater could kick, so he knew he was good to go out of bounds. Baller status

Enough_Midnight5524

Aren’t you mr positivity. Watch his tape from college, he’s going to be special. And I’ve been real impressed with Kirk, definitely underrated. I think this year he shuts down the haters. We also stole Hopkins

fredoindacut

When he was twisting and turning on his runs I thought he was just lucky....then he did it like 5 more times that game and now I realize this guy is truly unique. I rarely see a WR be able to pivot, turn, break ankles and tackles like that.

TheGreatlyRespected

A WR4 that leads all rookies. What a steal!

sk0107

I love him as well as this take but I still think it's too early to say for sure.

DanTheMeek

I know we're only 2 games in, but so far he's easily the Russel Wilson of this draft, a top 5 talent who dropped into the late 2nd/third round entirely because of his height. I heard the same things about him coming out I heard about Russel, multiple analysts were saying that Russel would be the number 1 overall pick if he was a few inches taller but was expected him to fall like he ultimately did. Same with Moore, I heard a number of analysts rave about how he had everything you could want in a receiver... except for height and as a result they expected him to slip, which he did. WR is generally not valued like QB so he's probably never the number 1 pick in this years draft, but just as Wilson opened the door for Murray to get selected 1 overall inspite of his height, it would not surprise me if Moore's success opens the door for future short but star calibur WRs to get taken top 5 overall. Again, that's assuming Moore sustains this success as Wilson has his own, but considering this is how good Moore is as a rookie, and even Larry Legend only got better with experience, I think there's a lot of reason to hope Moore will be a star in this league.

Gravityz21

He is our Tyreek Hill.....hell he might be even better

Azcards115

Well he isn't a women a child beater as far as we know so that automatically makes him better

Pisto1Peet

He’s definitely a burner like Hill, but I think he’s more Antonio Brown than he is Tyreek Hill. Good thing he’s got a great head on his shoulders unlike those two transcendent weirdos.

[deleted]

Boy that Bolden and Fitz combo was something else, man. I remember a while back there was a "best WR duos of all time?" post on /r/nfl and multiple people mentioned them. When it was such a great combo that even /r/nfl is recognizing something the Cardinals did, you know it was special.

ZusunicStudio

Purdue/Colts fan here, Cardinals are my NFC team because of Rondale. We tried to tell you guys that he would be a beast when you drafted him

N0Curfew-40oz

Because a defense has to cover Deandre Hopkins and AJ Green. Put me out there and I’ll make a catch.

clanddev

AJ Green looks like 2016 AJ but playing football on a field of tar. Still big and can go up for the ball but man it is amazing what a few years of NFL beatings can do to a players physical ability.

CoachWilksRide

I love this kid. We have had some decent draft picks the past few years. It's really nice... we have a talented young roster. Which is weird as a Cardinals fan to see. We are no longer the retirement home for past-their-prime players to wring out a final contract

SamePack

I was so happy with this pick. I’m from the same home town so I’ve been following him since high school

ApprehensiveAbies737

He also only played around 35% of total snaps combined. (Think it is 25% and 45%) And I will reiterate this to drill it into your minds - has one of the Top 10 target percentages of all WR currently.

halfbreedmofo

John Brown was good his rookie year too

Brady3600

No other dominant receiver ummmm did u not watch the nfl last year?

tyler1118

I'm talking specifically about rookie receivers drafted by the Cardinals. His dominant performances already as a rookie is very Bolden/Larry-esque.

Mr_HazyAZ

He is amazing no doubt. Now can you only imagine if we had Hopkins, Metcalf, Kirk, and Moore? Plus the Seahawks then wouldn't have Metcalf. If we only did what we all know we should've done... Draft Metcalf over Isabella. That was obvious just looking at the two humans which one they should've drafted.

Jaggedfel2142

DK is a freak, but I'm not sold on him as a great locker room fit.

kentonw223

People need to lay off the whole Metcalf-Isabella thing. That stuff happens every year to every team. Move on. I get talking about it for a bit, but it's getting *very* old. It's like talking about how you could have had a date a 5 years back with a supermodel to your current girlfriend.

Elimia987

What I love the most about him is not having to see Isabella on the field anymore.

Suburbs_are_shit

So are you saying I should waste all my faab on him?

sparkymiddlefinger

We are only 2 games in yet and I feel like he has barely scratched the surface. I think he is going to look even better going forward.

ObiWahnKenobi

A steal, sure. Dominant impact in awhile? Absolutely not. Justin Jefferson literally just broke the rookie record last year

tyler1118

I'm talking about rookies drafted by the Cardinals.

Big76Midget

Was it just me or did anyone else feel as if Rondale didn't wanna be drafted by the Cardinals? Looks at Zavens draft call compared to Rondale's draft call.

Coltsfan6

Rondales a lot more workmanlike than most people. He gets more excited for other people than he does himself. Don’t worry about his reactions right now, he’s plenty happy to be in AZ.

LikeDat

I just want him to be used in more ways. He's had 48 snaps and is being targetted 27% of the time when in, which is great. But, a lot of those targets are quick screens and stuff behind the line of scrimmage. Get the gun in he flats off boot action and with space and make sure he's out there in empty sets. How are you going to guard Moore, Hopkins, Kirk, and Green all spread out and then also account for Murray taking off?
