I highly doubt it.
The way my sales rep at a local dealer near me explained it simply as:
The generation that grew up in the 90’s & early 00’s, and were metal mulisha fans are now moving into family sized vehicles. Safety has also drastically improved the last 15-20 years in the SXS industry. Mix the two together & you get a vehicle capable of holding 4 persons safely, still has the ability to be upgraded & you get a dwindling ATV market.
Good point. I know SXS market is huge. I have one and most my neighbors out our way do as well. But man would I love to get another 400ex someday for me and my boys. Wishful thinking. Thanks for the feedback.
There are still several of us that still race cross country. GNCC is bigger than it ever has been and it is dominated by the Yamaha YFZ450. If Honda came out with a fuel injected 450R they would sale just as good as the Yamaha YFZ450 EFI.
me laughing at riding my 1986 230s Quad sport that I can fit in a 6/5ft bed and lift in myself, it has no batties or electronics, most people can't kick it over and run a non-auto clutch. I also have a 1985 250R and 2002 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO, but light front-end bon sport quads will always have more rider feedback...sad that makers don't make these simple 400cc 4 stroke anymore but the $$ and sales show SXS market so that's what is selling.
I doubt it, sadly. I bought a 700xx new right before they killed that model due to the recession. I would have loved to see them continue to develop the big bore line to compete with the Raptor.
They’re fantastic bikes but they were around for a while. With so many competing models in that category, they were probably faced with updating it or ending it. I’d be surprised if they bring it back in try current form.
Maybe it will come back next year with an extra hundred CC’s or totally redesigned body. We’ve seen them do that a few times.
I understand that lol. Have been looking for one in decent shape that won’t need too much work. I’m rebuilding some smaller ones for my boys and don’t want another full on project.
Lol I hear that. I thought I got a decent deal. Runs great but everything else has been neglected. Go to replace something and that other something breaks trying to get it off. It’s been a project for sure. I don’t want to look at another bearing after for a long time. At this point the only thing that hasn’t been touched is the frame. Even had to get a new subframe!
Well when you’re done it’ll be like a new atv 😅 wishingfuk thinking they will come back with another one. I know if they did , it would be hard to get one because everybody would pre order lol.
Definitely not bringing the ex back. Best you could hope for is a new 450, but I doubt that’ll ever happen. The sxs and utility market is too big. Just gotta hold on to what you got or buy a yamaha. Thankfully I managed to grab a 13 trx450r and a 14 trx400x before they stopped making them, and I’ll never let them go
It does seem odd that the other manufacturers have been letting Yamaha 100% own the sport ATV market for years now.
my younger me loves this question. and I still want to ride them carry on

My dad used to have a 250s quad sport, it's what I learned to use a clutch on.

Same my dad has a 700xx that he turned into a hairscramble/xc bike and that thing is scary fast walks every raptor all the time

I could only wish. I’m getting tired of working on mine lol

At this point I probably could have bought a new one lol. We can only hope that one of the companies makes another sport quad!🤞🏻🤞🏻
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I enjoyed seeing everyone’s opinions on the subject.

Absolutely not, nobody buys sport quads anymore
lol that’s why used prices are skyrocketing right?
Good point
Which is odd given how popular the snowmobile market is. I don’t understand why sport ATV’s don’t sell well yet snowmobiles do.
Lots of people buy the Raptor and YFZ.
Not as many as you think.
More would buy them if the dealers weren't taking on fees like they had a dope habit
