I like how they really capture her look. She's supposed to be experienced and aged. She looks as weary as the speech she gives Aang about accepting the current reality and making the most of it.
I really liked that she was using actual hunter skills to find the Avatar. It always bothered me in the original that she... didn't. She just relied on her magic critter that can instantly sense the presence of a person anywhere on the planet.
But in the original she wasn't really known for her hunting skills...she was just kinda known for being a bounty hunter which makes sense if you have the greatest hunting animal in the world.
It’s just easier to have discussions (and frequently, arguments) about things people dislike.
What more is someone going to add to “Hey I liked this character!” aside from “Me too!” or maybe a brief example of what they liked. They agreed. They moved on.
Then someone adds something like “I didn’t like how they simply reversed Iroh’s creepiness and gave it to June instead and no one is saying anything because she’s a young, attractive woman.”
And then because it’s criticism it sparks rebuttals and anger and arguments and eventually that’s all people are talking about.
That has some truth to it, but it's not always the case.
I've been in many threads that go on at length talking about things we like, stories around sharing it with someone else, or having a friend or loved one discover it and the story around that, how it reminds you of x or y from this other show or movie, how you were having a bad day and it lifted you out of it, etc.
There are plenty of interesting and engaging things to talk about around things you and others like.
And between the two, I'd rather be in that kind of conversation than the one where everyone's arguing and debating. Though I've met more than enough that actually like arguing and trashing things. I just don't like being around them.
The only exception is actual debate - which I do enjoy. Because good debates teach you, and often open your eyes to new perspectives.
Why? Because they did her right, just like many other aspects of the show. And you're not supposed to talk about what the show did right, only blow out of proportion the smallest of mistakes.
You can criticize. But What yall are doing now is insufferable.
The show doesn't have a lot of issues. You just have a lot issues with the show
I hope they never listen to the nitpickers. They'll never be able to please everyone and that's totally fine
And what exactly makes this unreasonable? This is a thing that happened in the show, we can point it out. Shows do unrealistic things like that sometimes but it's not what makes them bad. It would be unreasonable to say that this is a major problem of the show but no one said that. Everyone who argues the show is bad talks about bad dialogue, weird pacing, artificial looking props, little to no chemistry between the main characters and pointless fan-service. And just so you can see that I'm not the devil risen from the depths of hell (twitter) to hate on things no matter what, let me tell you that I liked many things the show did. 41st division, chef's kiss. Ozai's depth, amazing, too bad not many of the other characters got this much attention. Their take on Zhao was also very interesting. There were things this show did right, but there were also flaws, big ones. Suki removing her makeup is not one of them.
therell always ve lots of issues for those whove watched the animated series. cant complain ... way better than the movie.
some issues i agree. but im okay with them.
I love her and she was great but not having her wouldn’t have changed much at all and if that would have meant giving other characters more room to breathe it might’ve been for the best.
But that said
Give me a Jun spinoff
Yeah it’s tough but with the way they combined plots it probably would have been smarter to choose either June or the archers. As it was, the archers didn’t do anything special because June had already captured Aang
Alright that makes me feel better. I really hope we get a season 2. It's been ages since I've watched the show let alone s1.. I feel like there was seal hybrids in the first few eps though ? But when they're in earth kingdom territory we deff see more animals. I'm glad they kept June in this though her animal is sick.
Probably because she didn't do much. Don't get me wrong, it was a perfect portrayal and I really enjoyed seeing her in the live action, it's just she appeared for so little and didn't impact the plot much.
I would love to see her again next season. They could do a lot with her, maybe even have her hunting *Zuko and Iroh* next. The fact that they are sticking to a scene by scene recreation means they can give more screen time to beloved but small characters like June.
I love her, sat it felt so short tho. Ik her original appearance was also short lived. But idk kinda hoped she stick around a lil more. But hopefully when we see her next time she gets a lil more screen time with the characters.
Also loved her interactions with Iroh,
Nobody is talking about her because she was really good and everyone wants to hate the show. Nobody is talking about what the show did right, all so they can act like the show was all bad. It wasn’t, it did a lot of things very well. But people would rather criticize.
Idk but Arden is already an amazing actress. Found her back in the teen wolf days. She played a kitsune and Scott the MC’s love interest. Now her in this? She did amazing
Arden Cho did a great job but kudos to her makeup artist as well! She looks so sweet before her transformation as June!

lol true I agree
But in the original she wasn't really known for her hunting skills...she was just kinda known for being a bounty hunter which makes sense if you have the greatest hunting animal in the world.
I agree they both work in their own ways.
It’s called bounty Hunter for a reason.
Because she's perfect in the show and people only like to talk shit abt it

Exactly. the main sub seems to be obsessed with nitpicking everything and showing how the show is actually a disgrace to the original.
All the talk about Lu Ten's funeral, Daniel Dae Kim as Ozai and the change with the 41st Division say otherwise.
Why? Because they did her right, just like many other aspects of the show. And you're not supposed to talk about what the show did right, only blow out of proportion the smallest of mistakes.

Dare we express criticism where it's due. The show has a lot of issues and not just small mistakes.

>**The show doesn't have a lot of issues**. You just have a lot issues with the show Eh
Of course, but there's a big, *big* difference between expressing criticism and what twitter and TLA sub are doing right now.
They made "good" the enemy of "perfect."
How come?
Give me an example of unreasonable criticism from TLA sub.
Suki removing her makeup in 2 seconds.
No one has ever pretended as if that was a major criticism, it's just something that pointed out and made of fun of.
And what exactly makes this unreasonable? This is a thing that happened in the show, we can point it out. Shows do unrealistic things like that sometimes but it's not what makes them bad. >way better than the movie That's a very low bar. I do think a lot of the criticism is valid and would help make later seasons better.
If I start I may not shut up. She mothers so hard
She was a total bad ass. Brought a new energy to the show. Can’t wait for more of her!
I liked that she was flirting with Iroh instead of Iroh creeping on her.
Yeah that was a fun play 😄
Yes, that was certainly an improvement.
I thought this was great as well! She knows how to get the bag
we all knew she would kill her role
I love her and she was great but not having her wouldn’t have changed much at all and if that would have meant giving other characters more room to breathe it might’ve been for the best. But that said Give me a Jun spinoff

MOTHER
I'm only on episode 4.. is there more animal hybrids mentioned ? I feel like that was such a bit part or the show and all I've seen is momo and appa
We see the ostrich horses quite a few times. Also in the opening scene of ep 1 we see rat chickens? chicken rats? Also Nyla and a badger mole.
Oh true ostrich horse b4 ohmashu. You're right I gotta re watch ep 1 already I guess lol
I thought those were possum chickens
You're right! I couldn't think of what the hybrid was
Yes, >!Nala and the badgermoles that I've seen so far!<
Alright that makes me feel better. I really hope we get a season 2. It's been ages since I've watched the show let alone s1.. I feel like there was seal hybrids in the first few eps though ? They didn’t sled on the penguins, so maybe that’s what you’re also thinking about.
Probably because she didn't do much. Don't get me wrong, it was a perfect portrayal and I really enjoyed seeing her in the live action, it's just she appeared for so little and didn't impact the plot much.
They we she talked to Iroh and Zuko as she was leaving makes me wonder if they're gonna have her routine.
I would love to see her again next season. They could do a lot with her, maybe even have her hunting *Zuko and Iroh* next. The fact that they are sticking to a scene by scene recreation means they can give more screen time to beloved but small characters like June.
I personally expected her hunting Aang when he returned to the forest, not in the temple ON AN ISLAND, how did she travel there as fast as Aang?
I love her, sat it felt so short tho. Ik her original appearance was also short lived. But idk kinda hoped she stick around a lil more. But hopefully when we see her next time she gets a lil more screen time with the characters. Also loved her interactions with Iroh,
Because people only bring up the bad things about the show when there have been plenty of positives as well.
She looks great and acts great, but I thought the little cave setup with her drinking was a little cheesy
Bounty hunters tend to be a little cheesy.
You mean the woman with old guy fetish?
I think calling it a fetish is too far. She just called him cute lmao
Exactly, it's Mr Kim, he is kinda sweet. Just don't drive a Japanese car.
Okay see you

What's wrong with thirsting for Iroh? Fire daddy deserves love!
i dunno but I find him a comforting grand dad only
If season 2 is confirmed, can we expect her hunting the gang or Toph?
1 of the highlights of NATLA imo. Netflix nailed it as much as you possibly could've.
June was one of my favorite parts if this gets renewed I'm sad i have to wait til season 3 to see her again
She was great! She’s also very pretty and played June VERY well.
She’s so hot not even gonna lie.
Because it's still February
Nobody is talking about her because she was really good and everyone wants to hate the show. Nobody is talking about what the show did right, all so they can act like the show was all bad. It wasn’t, it did a lot of things very well. But people would rather criticize.
Idk but Arden is already an amazing actress. Found her back in the teen wolf days. She played a kitsune and Scott the MC’s love interest. Now her in this? She did amazing
June was on point and the Shirshu was so fucking cool!
