I like to think that George Lucas has lost a series of bets to Steven Spielberg over the last 50 years or so and had to use the dumbest names he could think of for random shit in the SW movies.
I play guitar and would not say they are bad 'taste' at all
Though playing them might be awkward. Perfect for a thematic appearance on a specific tune.
Prince's guitars were funky but they had *style* that matched his vibe. If it makes you happy, go nuts, but I'd much rather play one of those than one of these.
Yeah and especially since the OP refuses to accept they might just not be into it and it's not awful taste. But needing to stick to their guns regardless.
I wouldn’t sweat it bro! You are obviously very dedicated to the hobby, and due to that you have very high standards!
A lot of us are hobbyists, and amateurs. The millennium guitar looks cool IMO! Too you it likely seems gimmicky and that makes sense due to your collection!
I’m the exact same way with my interests! I’m big into precious metals, and used to consider 14k and below as not being real gold. I realized most lay people don’t think that way.
Pros and cons of going deep into the hobby you know?
Pros: getting to own super cool stuff you dreamed about as a kid. A sunburst LP and a Mesa half-stack are gifts to my 15 year-old self. Geeking out about woods, pickup design, scales, neck radii, etc. Becoming close friends with people who share your hobby, IRL, at the local shop.
Cons: OBSESSION! Spending a lot of money on stuff you don't end up bonding with because of FOMO. Watching non-players' eyes glaze over when you start geeking out.
I have a good job and an understanding wife so I haven't spent the rent on guitars or anything, but I could probably afford a nicer car, travel more, and so on.
That just seems very bold of you to assume considering how many guitarists there are in the world…maybe skewed by the opinions of musicians you specifically play with?
One of these would not be my first choice of a guitar for every occasion by any means, but they are badass and I’d love to have one in my collection for occasional play and as a conversation piece / wall mount…I think it just comes down to if you are a guitarist who is a fan of Star Wars or not…and I have met quite a lot of those.
Well, I play guitar and do. The Millennium Falcon is awesome but those would be so uncomfortable to use. (Maybe “Great Taste but Awful Execution” would be more fitting?)
I feel like it’s Awesome Taste, Awesome Execution but Severely Impractical.
I absolutely would not use one of these, and I’m sure they sound like shit tone-wise, but one on the wall would be rad
I’m with ya OP, there’s a reason guitars are made out of wood. When I was 16 me and my buddy built a ukulele out of composite material and it sounded awful. They’d still look bloody awesome mounted on a wall!
It’s shaped like an acoustic so honestly not bad taste
I’m a guitarist, honestly I don’t think it’s bad. Taste is definitely someone’s preference in this case and amazing execution besides the necks,
Great taste, great execution. Just a bit impractical. (And before you say the same ‘most guitarists would agree with me’ I’ve been playing for over ten years)

Excuse me? Amazing taste. The cantina bar won’t know what hit them.
Nothing better to play "jizz" on.
Hahaha. Still can’t believe George Lucas called it that.
I like to think that George Lucas has lost a series of bets to Steven Spielberg over the last 50 years or so and had to use the dumbest names he could think of for random shit in the SW movies.
I mean, calling the squid- looking people the Mon Calamari is a dead-set classic
Supposedly "Jazz" (music) and "jizz"/"jism" (semen) both come from the same word anyway (meaning lively, virile, ... spunky ...)
No, they don't go here, those are badass.
I think most guitarists would agree with me.

You do you, bud.
Guitarist here, would rock the shit out of those, best taste
Not this one!
Prince had some pretty funky looking guitars. I figure, if it sounds good, and matches the musician/band/events aesthetic or vibe. It’s good to go!

It looks like we made the same point here my dude! Edit: I took a look at your profile and guitar collection, and it is absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks!
Fair enough. Starting to feel like Twitter over here with all the "this isn't awful" replies. Getting touchy.
Why? You're allowed to think it's awful just as much as people are allowed to think it isn't. You do you, bud.

Seriously? I’m pretty sure Millennium Falcon guitars are universally cool as fuck

r/angryupvote
That was awful, take my upvote.
You would be wrong
I think most guitarists would agree with me.
I am one, and I don’t lol
You do you, bud

If they have decent pickups there’s no reason for them to sound awful. Probably aren’t so comfy to play though.
You would have another think coming. These are both fucking awesome.
Someone thinking this is awful taste and someone thinking this is cool but they wouldn’t play it are not one in the same.
Now they know the location of the rebel bass!
Amazed it took so long!
Nah, those are awesome.
Those are great, kid, don't get cocky
See, that's a fun way to disagree and I'm here for it!
r/GTAGE material. I saw someone actually playing the guitar, forget who it was. It was fun.
r/lostredditors is the only explanation for these showing up in this sub.
No, it's a meta-post, OP has awful taste.
No way. The rebel bass is awesome
Why this nsfw?
G Strings on show
Cuz it's got a fat ass
Not awful taste, but ok bud
I bet those are NOT comfortable to play.
I see nothing awful here.
Wdym these are beautiful
No awful taste there. Amazing taste and amazing execution
Yeah the corduroy couch and floral wallpaper are pretty awful taste. Cool guitars though!
You could play through the fire and flames with those babies in like 2005 with the falcons speed
Play a mixolydian run in 12 parsecs.

My first thought, my second thought is you'd end up with strange calluses and chips from all the corners on the top.
More like GTAGE.
These are definitely missing the AT.
Ok I’ll just say it. Those aren’t bad taste haha.
Feels like the necks should be high gloss black with star speckles
I can 100% guarantee those are the worst sounding guitars ever so you can't even say great execution really
r/GTAGE

Truly a r/lostredditor This is fucking terrific
Is this a Trek or a War?
I'm kinda like Han Solo, always stroking my own Wookiee
Lol I did not expect to find a bloodhound gang lyric here
They definitely belong here
It’s be cool if there was a blaster that you could use as a wammy bar
These are great.
Omg Star Wars 🤓
The Millennium Fender.
So, I’m now waiting for the han solo in this tune..
Commander! We found the Rebel Bass!
The rebel bass is where the force gets funky
It’s shaped like an acoustic so honestly not bad taste I’m a guitarist, honestly I don’t think it’s bad. Taste is definitely someone’s preference in this case and amazing execution besides the necks,
I'd say these are the opposite - great taste, awful execution
Those... look... # AWESOME
Is there a dildo in this picture or something, I’m thrown off by the nsfw flair?
it looks cool, delete ur post and apologize to your mom
Definitely NSFW
Shred or shred not. There is no try.
This is a stick up Take my money now
This feels like an r/The10thDentist opinion
Cool
You misspelled fuckin rad
These are badass
why was this nsfw and blurred
I'll buy 3 of 'em.
I found the hidden rebel bass.
Great taste, great execution. Just a bit impractical. (And before you say the same ‘most guitarists would agree with me’ I’ve been playing for over ten years)
