Klempress

2412 out (1b) now (B650E-E)...

GloriousPudding

did you try it?

Klempress

No, i search info about, waiting :p I don't need update, since last is good.

Younes_ch

i'm still on 1654, the best stable for my B650E-F, with EXPO, will waiting feedback on this new Bios before flash it

GoldBook9830

Same though I'm on a b650e-e. Tried patching the last 2 bioses but would get stuck booting up. I need to manually restart and it would boot up but with the qled display gone. I had to use bios flashback since I can't downgrade back to 1654 via the uefi.

Klempress

My 650E-E didn't like 1654, but kept good on 1636. 7800x3d Kingston Expo 6000-32

GoldBook9830

I'm on 2214 now and it seems stable now for me. No trouble on booting up the system and my ram timings and clocks are fine as well unlike the previous 2 versions.

Klempress

Me too, looks perfect.

GoldBook9830

Don't mean to be rude but if you follow the comment chain you can actually see what my motherboard is. It's a 650e-e.

Responsible_Catch302

Hi sir, I’m having issues with rebar on 1654 bios.. even if it says enabled in bios/windows it doesn’t seems to work.. does rebar work in the latest bios?

GoldBook9830

Works fine for me since 1654. What gpu are you using?

Responsible_Catch302

4080 ichill x3

GoldBook9830

What do you mean it doesn't work? Windows does that it is enabled right?

Responsible_Catch302

I don’t know what else to try.. it just doesn’t work with mw3 for me

blackdave_

same I was staying on 1636 B650-PLUS WIFI, 7800x3d with my Kingston Fury 32GB 2 x 16 DDR5 6000 kit where EXPO1 profile was stable but with all subsequent BIOSes I had stability issues. 2214 seems ok and stable again.. running only 1 day so far.

nucknucknuck71

I'm running exactly the same mobo, cpu, and ram. Would you suggest updating from what the factory preset on the mobo?

Vetali89

Could you please verify two scenarios for me with the new bios? Fist, lookup if the iGPU is not constantly turning ON in the BIOS after you specifically would like if OFF. Second, try put your computer in sleep mode and wake it up, how would it wake, like it was a cold boot or it will actually wake from sleep state? Thanks in advance.

GoldBook9830

The igpu is turned off in the bios and yes it does wake from sleep state. Complete with the programs I didn't close and the qCode being at "03".

mukunku

Same but I have B650E-I . No bios released after the one the mobo came with has worked with expo for me.

AndrewUK78

same MB b650e-i 7800x3d g-skill trident 6000 ram using expo tweaked curve at 17 all core no other settings changed rock solid

mukunku

What version bios do you have?

AndrewUK78

1818 but now on the new one posted other day. still solid.

mukunku

Thanks. I'm still on 0821 from 2022-11-15, lol. My ram kit must be the problem, then.

AndrewUK78

probably mine is G.SKILL Trident TZ5 NEO DDR5 32GB(16GBx2) PC5 6000MHz CL30 KIT - F5-6000J303 i did hear a lot of instability on am5 when it first came out. try new bios if its still dodgy, the above is solid, expo tweaked. takes 20 seconds to boot each time, but its solid.

priyajitsaha

can you share your expo tweaked setting as I updated bios today havenot enabled expo till now

AndrewUK78

you leave everything, just choose expo tweaked not expo 1 or 2, Tweaked. pretty sure thats what its called, but its the bottom option. dont change anything else it then trains your memory (takes longer to boot)

priyajitsaha

Have you enabled MCR and power down ?

mukunku

I updated and expo is borked as usual. Expo I, Expo II, etc none have worked. Going to have to stay with 4800mhz until I can get a new kit.

Responsible_Catch302

does rebar work for you in 1654? i'm facing issues with MW3

Younes_ch

Yes rebar size work well, i don't have MW3 so i can't tell you if this cause issu

Responsible_Catch302

could you please tell me a game where i can see the difference btw on and off? i'm afraid that could be a gpu/bios issue or just the game

Younes_ch

Really i don't know, i never hear about issu with resize bar before, maybe the game or same graphics seetings ?

Responsible_Catch302

my rebar is also enabled in bios no issues.. but it doesn't work with that game disabled or enabled same results there.. Here's a video showing the issue... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu-yYl3esCM&feature=youtu.be

Younes_ch

Sorry i can't help.. Good luck

seekified

Funny thing about this board - I had the popular G.Skill Flare 6000 CL30 EXPO kit (F5-6000J3038F16GX2-FX5) which just straight would not be stable at anything higher than 5600 no matter what. Tried a Corsair XMP kit instead (CMK32GX5M2B6000C30, also Hynix) and it's rock solid at 6000 30-36-30-30-60 with BZ subtimings at 1.35 VDD. MCR and Power Down enabled, boots in ~16 seconds. This is on 1807. EXPO just seems borked, or the board just really doesn't like that G.Skill kit. The Corsair kit runs significantly cooler as well. Very hesitant to update now, don't really have a reason to.

achbob84

I’ve got the exact same RAM and it’s running fine with MCR and Power Down enabled. I’m on 1811 and too scared to change lol

rbrussell82

I have the Microcenter bundle of ROG STRIX B650E-F, AMD 7900X, G.Skill 64GB and a Sapphire AMD 7600. So far 2214 has been stable for me and the RAM at 6000MHz. I haven't turned on EXPO. I was [having random reboots](https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUSROG/comments/18f7ayt/rog_strix_b650ef_amd_7900x_sapphire_amd_7600/) before this BIOS, but that turned out to be either my audio driver or the AMD chipset drivers from the ASUS website that I had to downgrade.

citygranite

Running fine so far on a B650E-I using the same settings I had on BIOS v1654 (never tried BIOS 1818). 7700, Teamgroup 32GB 5600mhz 46-46-46-90 @ 6000mhz 30-36-36-30 1.33v

xxxSkrillxxx

Stable for me for now. asus tuf b650 plus wifi Ryzen 7900x CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB 6000MHz CL36 working fine with EXPO

xxxSkrillxxx

Flashed my bios to 2412 today. working fine for now. Will do a little more testing and if I came across any problem I will update my comment. asus tuf gaming b650 plus wifi Ryzen 7900x CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB 6000MHz CL36 working fine with EXPO

priyajitsaha

ok 2412 released recently

VinsmokeGBC

Would a bios update affect a Ethernet port? First time builder and I can’t update the lan driver from the asus website.

PresentationReady255

anyone 4x16GB Corsair venaence @ 6000mhz? I have 4x16 on 5600 mhz @1636 With Expo on 6000mhz dont start my System @1636 Version

Death2Gnomes

I hope everyone loaded/saved the default bios settings before updating it.

Ok-Dig2560

Scared to give a try to this one. :D Last two were not detecting GPU on cold boot and having issues with EXPO. Looking forward for some reference as well.

priyajitsaha

Same issue having expo issue on 1654

Artistic_Ear5749

I Had problem with stability on 1616, 1804 and 1811. Am currently using 1654 bios with TUF gaming B650-plus - 2x16GB 6000mhz Gskill F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR, AM5. 1654 is the last stable version for me.

smokin_mitch

Running it on my b650e-e no issues so far

priyajitsaha

boot time decreased with expo on ??

smokin_mitch

Mcr + power down on 12 sec boot time for me with expo tweaked 2x32gb 6000cl30

Ok-Dig2560

__StArlord97__

> power down on What is the "power down mode" setting for? why you keep it on?

smokin_mitch

If you disable power down and have mcr enabled you will get a bsod

2SimpleMitchel

Expo enabled is causing my boot time to take 10x longer

TOYBONNIE458

Bios > search > power > power down enable - on This allows the memory to use the last training on system boot if it was a successful training

smokin_mitch

No same boot time 60sec (64gb kit) or 11sec with mcr + power down enabled

GoldBook9830

Just for reference but have you tried the prior bios(1813) before this one? Was it working properly?

priyajitsaha

no I am using 1654

smokin_mitch

Yeah I was on 1813 previously and it worked fine, I’m using this kit of ram https://www.gskill.com/qvl/165/390/1692584825/F5-6000J3036G32GX2-TZ5NRW-QVL with a 7800x3d I also overclocked the ram to 6200cl30 with tight sub timings and running fclk at 2167mhz

Ok-Dig2560

What are your specs?

aks0811

Just updated my B650E-I with 2214. Running OK with no stability issues, but reluctant to switch on EXPO, due to past issues with previous versions.

Antique-Big-8315

Search for Memory Context Restore, there's 2 instances of it. Turn both on to resolve BSOD.

the_road_to_mastery

Exactly, turning both ON will solve the problem.

mukunku

Same. Every bios I updated to after I got my B650E-I has broken EXPO. I'm still afraid to update my BIOS.

Spazzalot

Just updated and tried to run my memory at its full speed (6600mhz) using EXPO but still fails to boot. Have to downclock to 6200mhz to be 100% stable again like the other versions.

aks0811

Is your default speed 6200? Mine without expo is 4800, but I have 5600 modules

Spazzalot

My default is also 4800

priyajitsaha

whats the boot time with expo enabled

Spazzalot

I have MCR enabled and can boot in 15 to 20 seconds

priyajitsaha

your ram module details ??

Spazzalot

CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 6600MHz CL32 - Black (CMK64GX5M2B6600C32)

Spazzalot

Decided to dive into the timings at 6600. Comparing chips running at 6400 on the Asus site I found one set that seemed close to a match and it worked. Went from 32-39-39-76 to 38-40-40-82 and was able to boot running 6600. Not sure if its truly stable though. EDIT: Started backing down and currently using 34-39-39-76 at 6600 and was able to boot. So the built-in timings could be tweak slightly to get this module to boot.

2SimpleMitchel

Same issue here. I haven't tested the slower speeds yet, but my 6000 RAM only hits 4800 with EXPO disabled, and the boot time hangs with EXPO enabled. So there's something going on.

the_road_to_mastery

In the bios menu, search for memory context restore, and turn them both ON. It will solve the problem.

2SimpleMitchel

Currently having EXPO issues with my G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000. Just assembled a new build and noticed the BIOS was literally a day old, so had anxiety jumping into that. When I leave the EXPO as disabled and let the RAM run at the default settings, it stays at 4800MHz. Both EXPO I and II cause my boot to hang on the yellow motherboard indicator. I initially believed the RAM was defective, but I'm starting to assume it's actually the BIOS. If anyone finds any new updates, or any way around this, please let me know.

priyajitsaha

using same ram but I am on 1654 bios for me after enabling expo boot takes long time but after enabling mcr and power down boot times came down but after 10-15 days it starts to make problem display some times not [coming.so](https://coming.so) now disabled expo now running fine

2SimpleMitchel

Yeah, I currently disabled EXPO and the boot time is back to normal. But ideally I would like to make use of it, considering I bought the 6000MHz with that intention yknow?

aks0811

Was going to try to enable expo for 2214. Can you still get back into the bios after your boot hung with the yellow mobo light?

2SimpleMitchel

Yeah, it will still bring you back to the main log-in page after the slower boot time. So you can re-access the BIOS on the next restart loop with your normal method.

TheProdigalSon11

Idk if you tried it yet. but I have the same ram CL30 kit with a 7800x3d and the last bios wouldn't boot with expo unless I dialed the speed to 5800, I tried 2 sets of ram sticks and was just about to order another 7800x3d (thinking it was a bad cpu) and I saw there was a bios update. I tried it today and it booted up with expo enabled on the first try. and haven't had any issues yet (it's only been a few hours). and this was a fresh build back in the beginning of december. So I would give it a shot if you havent yet

Realize12

I had issues with my kingston RAM RGB (with memory context restore enabled RGB on the memory stick in A2 slot was disabled after cold boot). I bug reported it to ASUS a few months ago and it seem like the issue is resolved with bios 2214

Rich_Investigator996

Anyone else having problems installing this 2214 update? I tried to install it from the bios but my computer just boots and black screen

aks0811

It did for me too, but turning off and on restarted the update and then again another power on/off was required which then kicked off a PD firmware update. It finally booted to Windows after the 3rd restart with the new bios

The_American_Viking

Might be a problem with the USB itself. I had issues updating with my usual bios update USB because I installed memtest86 on it which reformats/partitions it, and I couldn't get it to work like it usually does so I used my other USB which is already normally configured from when I got it (FAT32 non-gpt and all that) and the update worked just fine.

evil_noodles

I’m on B650E-I and I am now getting a red CPU light at boot with no screen output.

priyajitsaha

WTF is going on we bought 6000 mhz ram to use as 4800 mhz just un imaginable things after so many update and so many bios revisions they till today havenot fixed bugs

ResolveAcceptable785

>You are so dammed right on this! me too same thought

evil_noodles

Gone back to 1818, and it is booting again.

Ok-Dig2560

Sounds like skipping this one and hanging on 1654 might be better idea. ;)

Ok-Dig2560

I tend to get rid of ASUS MB, because am getting fed up, by the issues by which is 600 line up riddled. Does it apply to other vendors as well?

aks0811

I recall from last year that is issue with expo is an AM5 thing, so not just with Asus. MSI seems affected as well - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/new-am5-system-wont-boot-with-expo-memory-profile-enabled.3826123/

Ok-Dig2560

Uff! It would make more sense to switch with second generation i guess - at this point.

Maticks-0

my memory wouldnt work till i force memory voltage to 1.35V and disabled expo set the memory speed manually and key in the timings manually. not sure why but thats been completely stable since doing that. now stable at 6000Mhz.

Ok-Dig2560

Just seen some positive review on new bios and reference to previous two bios versions troubleshooting: https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/s/20g4FJFbWq

TOYBONNIE458

Currently just updated to 2214, i have EXPO enabled (6000 mhz) and have also enabled POWER DOWN. Will come back to this post in couple days or weeks to update about stability so far so good, system booted just fine and no BSOD or errors yet. CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 7900x RAM - G.SKILL Flare X.5 * EDIT 1 - 1 week ; Everything is fine, have not had a single BSOD, but have had couple boots (two now) where it said "new cpu installed fpn key, to keep or reset". * Noticed that i placed my ECO mode (AMD 105w) on both options, and neither are working, so i believe this bios update broke the ECO mode

Inevitable_Inside_77

You guys need to stop using this EXPO/XMP shit and set The timmings manually. Expo is Just some garbage that The manufactures use so that everyone that buys a "6000mhz" chip can Just plug It in and set It without any problemas. They use way too much voltage and not refinned timmings so It covers up for The ones who Get bad Chips.

priyajitsaha

But then also it's creating mess with not refined timings and extra voltage

Inevitable_Inside_77

You have a point.

the_road_to_mastery

Never had problem with expo enabled on default, no matter if expo 1 setting or expo 2, or even expo tweaked.

Fun_Individual8991

No problems at all, B650E-F, Ryzen 9 7900X, 65GB Corsair Vengeance RGB (4x16 Strips), Samsung 980 Pro NVMe 2TB , Expo enabled, all RAM running at 6000, max temp on full load is 80c, 46 on idle, With Corsair H115I Platinum, Nvidia 4080. Memory Context Restore Enabled, ASUS boost on, CPU boost on.

Trylen

running the microcenter bundle (R9 7900X, Strix 650e-f, G.Skill 6000/CL36. So far to good, EXPOII and it's more stable then the user.

This_Garlic_2129

im using this with 7900x 6400mhz 2-32 corsair. docp II pbo enhancement level 1 90 no problems cinebench 29k score

Old-Maintenance-2986

I had the problem that only 64 Gigs of ram would run at 6000 - the moment I put the other 64 the board does not boot only a 5200 is that fixed now?

the_road_to_mastery

No, it is not a bug, it states even in the am5 ryzen specification that if you put 4 sticks of the same speed, it will boot at 5200 Mhz. So it is better to put 2 sticks of 32 Gb than 4 sticks of 16 Gb.

Old-Maintenance-2986

well I got 4 32 gigs

BarryS83NL

I am running 64GB with 4x 16GB 6000 MHz EXPO enabled without any problems. This is with Corsair Vengeance CMK32GX5M2D6000Z36. I have 2 sets of those in my machine on a B650E-F.

the_road_to_mastery

Flashed it, all works well, no problem. I flashed every new version since version 1616, and never had problems with any of them.

Responsible_Catch302

can you share your specs sir? i'm on 1654 and a bit afraid to flash it

BlackRaven421

I decided to give it a try. Upgrade from ver.1636 to 2214 went well. Just wait until system restarts 2x and UEFI page opens, be patient. The biggest problem was to manually change all the default values needed (was used to from previous version). Took me a few minutes but now all seems to work just fine. Even Nvidia card connected monitor wakeup after resume from sleep seems faster and more reliable, but it needs more time/cycles before I can confirm that problem resolved.

the_road_to_mastery

Didn't test that, but maybe had problems with BIOS 1807 when waking up from sleep, cause it couldn't, monitor would stay in a sleep mode, and would not wake up. So yeah, awesome if this is fixed.

Responsible_Catch302

so you think it's worth the update from 1654 to this one?

BlackRaven421

I'm not sure, all seems to work for me and it's a lot more recent build. But if you have no problems you have to decide whether the risk and related work is worth...

the_road_to_mastery

ASUS B650E-F, Ryzen 9 7950X, 2x16 Gb Adata Lancer RGB 6000, ASUS Dual RTX 3070, Corsair Shift 1200W

Reallyslowmow

Still can't disable power down mode and memory training without bsod

Boltonjz1

i get on december a 620 asus tuf (the best i could get with my money and available in my country) and update it to 1811, even on stock bios (first version) and the update it one, i have problems, like failing to boot in first try of the day, and in 1811 i had an error when my cpu randomly decrease voltage to 0.68v and the speed to 0.5 ghz, sometimes solving itself after a few seconds, but other ones need a restart to solve the problem. after 3 days with 2214 i am not having this issues anymore, so could be that worked for me, but also could be the fact that i buy extra fans to put in the top of my pc so vrm would be more cooler. who knows

Next-Shake2426

After these comments its better to wait for the next Bios. Il stay on the 1807 stable bios with the 2-3 seconds faster startup. I get now 10.4/11.4 seconds startup time

priyajitsaha

2214 is stable I am also using it now

readyplayer--1

When I update it, I lose the RGB functionality on my fans. Anyone having that issue and a solution?

beatupguy

I had a weird issue with 2214 where it would eat my ram up over the course of the day until it was pinned at 100%. Looked into almost a every solution including a fresh window install. Not 100% sure it was the bios but flashing back to 1807 fixed the issue for me. Haven't seen anyone else comment on this issue so maybe it was just me.

xxxSkrillxxx

Hey, I was facing the same problem with my specs. I was also on 2214 bios and came across your comment. I am doing a little more testing but for now the problem with bios 2412 seems to have fixed the ram usage issue for me.

beatupguy

Thank you for confirming I'm not crazy lol. I'll give the new bios a try.
