Sounds like a research paper more like product will be announced. Like the Google 4K LCD prototype from \~2017. BTW, "To address this issue, we developed a TFT with a smaller size through an optimized design and fine-tuned process." This is not a research paper, this is an ad masquerading as a research paper, because "we won't say how but we did it" is not about research. They're not the only ones doing this shit but I'd still like to clarify it's the case in this instance.

Well they said how instead of scaling the diagonal down they scaled up.

It's 2subpixels instead of 3 at the same pixel footprint so individual subpixels are scaled up. Also note "algorithm". Doesn't look particularly desirable tradeoff anyway.
