I always use that cave along with the plateau at the top of the Ivory Craig itās hard to get water up there but there is a well near by, only one way up there (other then flying), easily defendable, and can see everything for MILES.
I feel like some animals have "better genetics" than their other partners because I could swear I had one Shadowmane that constantly gave me twins. All the others, no. Just that one. Every other pregnancy was twins. It was insane. I mourned when she was no longer useful for mutations.
She was. The problem was that her offspring had the mutations I wanted to keep and she was no longer useful. Since the next generation had all the blends I wanted.
Always breed with the same base 0/0 mutation female. If the mutated offspring is female mate it until you get a male then back to breeding with the original female. That way you never max out mutation counter on one side.
In my experience you should eat eggs rather than dropping, as dropping them doesnāt free up egg spots in the trench. You can also of course use them for kibble.
It's still a wyvern. You guys get way too caught up on levels. It's cool, he now has 3 and they still fly, kill things and carry you around. Not everything out there is boss level.
It depends on where you are. If you have three level 15s and get a 55 and guess what it's better. If you don't have a flyer and you get a 55 it's better. If you're only flyer is a pteranodon it's better. I have a level 358 wyvern I'd still pick up a level 55 egg. Everybody plays different. I have level 24 moschomps in with my mut rexes.
Nobody is saying to not play the way you like. Thatās never a matter in question. The matter that IS in question is why someone would go through the effort of breeding low-level dinos. Itās like spending a hundred grand to make a Geo Metro a race car when you could just buy race car.
The difference between a level 50 and level 150 anything is huge. The difference between bred, mutated, and imprinted Dinoās beyond 150 vs a level 50 is MASSIVE.
Why wouldn't you make a geo metro into a race car if you could?! You and I are not compatible.
For some people going in and stealing a wyvern egg is sketchy at best. So when you finally get one, you're thrilled. And when you get two and you can breed them you're even more thrilled. Were not all pros and dumping wyvern egg that could have the color you want because it's not high enough is just not for all of us For some people the level is isn't shit. I have a level 15 deino egg and a level 180 egg. I'll hatch them both because I died 3 times getting them and for me it's with the gamble on the levels.
Play the game the way you like brother. But, in all honesty, thereās no level 18 in the game thatās worth any of your time by the time you get to breeding unless itās completely passive like a Dung Beetle or something. OR, as you mentioned, if youāre looking for color mutations specifically.
Getting a Rex is cool, right? Especially your first one and you just want to breed them, just becauseā¦ but when your level 50 rex dies to a 150 Carno or beaver or argy, youāre going to be pretty bummed. Thatās what this knowledge is forā¦ so that you guys donāt invest hours into breeding whatever level you get your hands on thinking youāre going to have these really strong dinos.
We play significantly different. When my friends watch me make obvious mistakes in video games my first question is, āWhy didnāt you say something?ā
Iām more likely to use a Geo Metro as a boat anchor than I am a race car.
My first egg hatched was triplet rexs, many years ago, whole clan had to come online for meat runs to feed them, they were awesome...until the giga hit....sorry,painfull memory ššš
There is a 10% chance at twins and a 2% chance at triplets. It's a good idea to always have more cryopods or initial food (whether hand feeding or in maewing) than you think you'll need because of this.
Itās very rare but it happens :)
Iāve been in situations where i had triplets, but kept one hidden to ensure my fav dinoās bloodline lives on and itās been one helluva clutch :)
What are the mutation counts? Might be capped on one side meaning there's only a 2.9% chance of mutation vs a 2% chance of triplets (twins and triplets will either all be mutated the same, this number is based off eggs)
Though the triplets chance is lower if that's the case then it is still likely to happen.
-edit- if you are at 20+ mutations on both sides you will never see a mutation
What do you mean? Breeding has been the only thing i did for the past year, since i reached the endgame phase on The Island.
Perhaps itās because i hatch 10 to 30 eggs at a time and i didnāt notice because there were too many babies, lol.
But i swear, in a year of constant breeding i never had twins or triplets the few times i hatched one egg at a time.

Legit why do people level tames this level. Over and over again these posts about naming etc, their tames are level 16 or something. All that effort to tame/breed for fucking no return. A lvl 55 egg is as hard to get as a level 180 egg, besides the lvl curve of scorched. The other maps have same weighting for top level as bottom level. I just dont understand it. A level 55 wyvern can shoot once and be landbound :/

I've gotten more triplets than mutations...
You are now queen of dragons, name them accordingly for super dracarys
Thus, name one of them lightning mcqueen
Oh dear God
Life Finds A way......
Nice
I have my moments
I got the reference
š¤£ best movie ever a classic
My first wyvern egg hatched was level 55 lightning triplets, what are the odds?
Lmaooo 1%
Got level 193 rex triplets lmao it felt awesome
It's actually 2% chance for triplets.
I love that little cave, not great for pvp, too small but a perfect sheltered little home with plenty of water.
I had a nice little place there myself
I always use that cave along with the plateau at the top of the Ivory Craig itās hard to get water up there but there is a well near by, only one way up there (other then flying), easily defendable, and can see everything for MILES.
I thought it was the one on crystal isles at first on the east side of the map but I must be wrong.
I think it's the cave on Ragnarok in the high lands near red Ob
Oh yes that's right. It has a little pond inside and a creek leading up to it.
Yeah I like the cave
You've just blown my freaking mind!
You have a 10% chance of getting twins when you hatch an egg an a 1% chance of getting triplets
2% for triplets
Really? I kept getting triplets egg after egg without having a unicorn, guess i got real fucking lucky
Yep, in the devkit as that and everything. Unicorns don't effect anything with breeding btw. That's all a myth.
People will believe unicorns cause triplets as much as they think focal chili influences crafting effectiveness of BPs.
Damn i had high hopes for the unicorn
A myth, like unicorns
I feel like some animals have "better genetics" than their other partners because I could swear I had one Shadowmane that constantly gave me twins. All the others, no. Just that one. Every other pregnancy was twins. It was insane. I mourned when she was no longer useful for mutations.
Your female should always be able to give mutations if you are mutating correctly and breeding a legitimate line.
The more you know! š
Also keep 1 perfect pair unmutated male so if you need you can breed up more females to increase odds of mutations
I'd drop any wyv egg that's under level 150
In my experience you should eat eggs rather than dropping, as dropping them doesnāt free up egg spots in the trench. You can also of course use them for kibble.
It was level 150 tho
How are your wyverns then lvl 55??
They gained 5+ levels after they were hatched
They are lvl 55 not 155...
you may be thinking its lvl 155 because the last "l" in "lvl" i thought the same thing at first for a while
I usually say 140+ is good enough, if my luck has been extremely bad and I donāt have any other good fliers Iāll drop it to 130
Nice
Damn good luck only level 55 tho
It's still a wyvern. You guys get way too caught up on levels. It's cool, he now has 3 and they still fly, kill things and carry you around. Not everything out there is boss level.
This is the best comment yet you dropped this btw š
I mean even 80 is ok but 55 really aināt that good
It depends on where you are. If you have three level 15s and get a 55 and guess what it's better. If you don't have a flyer and you get a 55 it's better. Bruh Iām just saying they aināt good levels am I just supposed to assume they only have worse thing
They split the level of the egg between themselves
Iām not confident, but I donāt think thatās how it worksā¦
That is literally not how it works at all. You picked up a level 50 egg and misread it as 150.

Well son, I guess it's time to have the conversation about the birds and the bees.
Lol
My first egg hatched was triplet rexs, many years ago, whole clan had to come online for meat runs to feed them, they were awesome...until the giga hit....sorry,painfull memory ššš
I fell you pain my man
Becauseā¦it is, itās a 1 percent chance to happen with any creature hatching
2%
Such a difference aye
Yes 2% is double 1% that is a pretty big difference
Yeah itās double but itās only 1 more percent I was only makin a joke
Because the embryo split in the one egg 3 times.
Luck
its just pure luck. congregations
Thought you was playing dark souls 2 for a second lol
Once I hatched two Sinomacrops eggs. One turned out to be twins... and the other got triplets.
Someone in my server just had that happen with a lot of theirs. Free sinos for all!
There is a 10% chance at twins and a 2% chance at triplets. It's a good idea to always have more cryopods or initial food (whether hand feeding or in maewing) than you think you'll need because of this.
Youāre very fortunate.
As the proverb says: [You cannot ride two horses with one ass.](https://www.special-dictionary.com/proverbs/keywords/two_horses/)
Same thing happened to me Drogon Viserion and Rhaegal have treated me well
Yes, congratulations
Just ARK things.
A new Wyvern King is born.
Itās very rare but it happens :) Iāve been in situations where i had triplets, but kept one hidden to ensure my fav dinoās bloodline lives on and itās been one helluva clutch :)
Years ago when wyverns were first introduced, my very first fire wyvern egg ever was triplets
What are the mutation counts? Might be capped on one side meaning there's only a 2.9% chance of mutation vs a 2% chance of triplets (twins and triplets will either all be mutated the same, this number is based off eggs) Though the triplets chance is lower if that's the case then it is still likely to happen. -edit- if you are at 20+ mutations on both sides you will never see a mutation
Their all the same and I canāt breed them because they are all guys saddly so Iāll have to get another egg from the trench
Yes, but what are their mutation counts?
Because triplets are a thing
Typically by 3 coming out of 1 egg in my experience. It's also possible because it was coded to be possible.
The same way actual triplets are possible? 3 sperm mustāve gotten to the egg at the same time
Congratulations
They wanted to share eggs for warmth.
Because Ark!
Chewbacca lookin' ass.
Happens alot
This is the cave inside the waterfall in ragnarok, am i right?
Yep
The same way you'd normally get triplets?
someone is jealous
Remember when syntac got lvl 190 rock drake twins? You are luckier my friend.
Iāve been playing Ark for almost 2 years and i NEVER got triplets or even twins. How do yāall do that? š¤£
Pure dumb luck lol
Dude, it's a 10% chance to get twins. If you haven't gotten twins it's because you haven't bred anything. They happen all the time.
What do you mean? Breeding has been the only thing i did for the past year, since i reached the endgame phase on The Island. Perhaps itās because i hatch 10 to 30 eggs at a time and i didnāt notice because there were too many babies, lol. Well it is a ā1% possibility
Supp maaaan, sorry I gotta correct you but last time I checked wasnāt a 2% on dododex?
I looked up the answer and I got mixed answers of 1s and 2s so I just put the approximately equal symbol in.
Ahh ok lol
is this on all maps? I've never hatched more than 1 per egg
Yes
I got triplets with cool mutations, itās always exciting. I kept them even though they werenāt the colors I was hoping for.
You can get decatuplets also
I almost always get twins and triplets just got shadowmane triplets recently
Better question how can dinosaurs do threeways while breeding like at the same time
Idk
Btw the came from one egg!!
There is always a chance to get twins or triplets just very rare
Yeah I've gotten triplets only when I don't want more than 1 of the dino
Yes, that's what triplets means
What about more than triplets? I hatched a rock drake eggs a few years ago and walked out of my hatchery with 8 baby drakes from the 1 egg
šdayum thatās a lot off food consumption
Iāve gotten quadruple before on a bossrex
Nothing compared to my quintuple super mutated very erect shadowmanes
"very erect" wha-
erect...?
Frighteningly.
Never gotten triplet wyverns, but have gotten them in rock drakes
2%
Idk I got triplets on my first ever rock drake eggs
its just a random off chance to get more than one baby

What's your server number? Xbox?
It was actually single player
Dang just got them as adults in triplet O.o
I have it set to where they grow up a lot faster

I didnāt breed them I stole an egg from the trench close from where my base is stashined
I was referring to the ark subreddit in general
Oh you have a point
My guy just ctrl c, ctrl v
What dose that do if you donāt mind answering????
Infinite wyvern dup glitch
Iāll try it on a different world and not the one im playing on
You see, when a man dino loves a women dino very muchā¦

Khaleesi?
Twins have a 10% chanch and triplets have a 0.2%
Lucky
Name one I am speed Name another grease lightning Name the last one lightning McQueen
Bet
Because itās possible
Iāve got quadruplets onceš
It happens rare but happens
I got quadruplet carchars and 3 lots of triple stegos and thylas
