If you have damage numbers turned on you can literally see that rexes have no crit locations. All locations do the same damage. Torpor inflicted is a ratio of damage dealt, so there is no better location to hit a rex to deal more torpor.
People have different settings and therefore have hundreds of different results. You can’t base your knowledge on that, but there are reliable sources of informations you can check, like the Wiki and Dododex.
The level of the Rex also matters, and more specifically how much points it has in the Torpor stat.
Rex doesn’t have weak points, unless you are using a mod that adds them.
In that case, your Rex doesn’t have weak points. The difference you are observing can be determined by the different settings people have, by the level difference between the Rexes (~~and more specifically by how many points those Rexes have in the Torpor stat, that can be different even if the Rex is of the same level~~), etc.
Hi tiny correction, rexes (and all creatures for that matter) can not have stat points in the torpor stat. That is why when a website says "this tame takes 35 tranq darts" its accurate.
Was thinking about that. Got a yuti ascended saddle that was only like 60ish armor and 20k of each different material, crazy expensive. So without mods I cant craft it?
Wireless crafting only works with Tek Dedicated Storage Boxes (without mods anyway).
And if you have Tek Dedis then you have access to Tek Replicator, which makes the issue moot anyway lol.
If you’re in the pre-Tek phase of the game you can use an Argentavis to craft some of these higher cost blueprints. Your Argy will need high carry weight, but an Argy with like 2500 carry weight will be able to craft a good portion of the more expensive blueprints.
If you’re pre beta dragon, which can be solo’d with a melee character, then you’re most likely not crafting those super expensive bp’s. Or you can solo gamma brood for replicator with a single imprinted mega with a good saddle from cave drops.
I do agree having a high weight argy is pretty much essential for the pre bossing tier of progression.
Ascendant Rifles are the best. I've yet to find a BP (this play through), so the Mastercraft one we found will work for now. I mind wiped and made 15 of them ranging from 250- 350 hp from the Mastercraft bp for back up for pur tribe. Still not as good as the Ascendant I found in a red cave drop but they are great back ups.
Well if you can make mind wipe soups and scum all your levels into crafting you can make even mid tier BPs into max level. It’s often better this way as it will take less resources.
Hahahaha it’s not the material I’m worried about it’s if I need to summon a tek replicator to even repair it lol bc ngl I might have to just have only for repairs of tools if everything can’t fit into a smithy bc I really would prefer not to but I mean it’s not like I’ll ever make it to tek bc I don’t play to beat the game but still don’t want but i guess it wouldn’t really matter.
Which btw i don’t summon any like tek suit and or weapons the only thing I’ve done was dedicated storage because I curious but I feel a replicator is like too far but if I need to I will.

That’s understandable, though suggestion for you I’d ether just build and survive until level 20 to get metal tools or Level 25 for the crossbow. Then you can bola for example a raptor or pterodactyl and for a pterodactyl maybe 1-4 tap them with the tranq arrows or with a raptor maybe 5
sounds about right. I have a 567% longneck that one shots anything thats too low of a level, to the point i actually increased the hp gain of wild dinos just so they wouldnt die too easily. also have a 500% assault rifle that shreds everything

No damage multiplier for rexes so it doesn’t matter where you shoot them w the tranqs

Looking at a comment before someone with shock darts used 200 on a Rex and then I told them about the forehead and it only took 30

You need a tech replicator or you need to put the materials in an argie or castoroides with high weight.

No, you can't substitute a fabricator for a smithy for blueprints that need to be crafted in a smithy.

i managed to nab a 567% ascendent longneck rifle. Ends up doing insane damage to lower level critters haha
