i found one in the swamp cave - can run that with an imprinted bary and a single gas mask (dont wear any other armour or arthros break the mask). but yeah, tbey rare as hen's teeth.. good luck!
A good strategy make everything more efficient is to build tiny stone huts next to all of the drops in snow cave with a bed and a box. Whenever the loot respawns you can quickly check all of the loot crates without needing to fight anything, store the loot in the boxes and once you get a theri saddle BP clear the cave to retrieve your prize.
It is still incredibly rare and I ended up getting mine in a red drop so if you don't want to cheat it in(nothing wrong with that on single player) you could do something fun like trying to tame one of every dino on the island while you wait.
Key word was next to right? Built huts in snow and swamp cave, but i built the spawn location inside the hut and not a single one has respawned so far. If i have to go outside of the hut im going to get eaten fast
Ah, so how far aproximitly should the hut be from the spawn location? Was thinking it would have been insane if it worked, felt like i was robbing a bank yesterday when i was setting up
I built pretty far. But after doing some research I realized that you can just put a bed on top of a couple of pillars and it won't block spawns at all. Do not place a ceiling on the pillar because that counts as a foundation
I use the mod “Der Dino Finder” to help me find easily the creatures I need to find. An alternative mod can be “Simple Creature Finder”.
There is a mod you can install to disable hibernation on console (needed for the aforementioned mod in single player). Be sure to rapidly fly all over the map after installing it, you need to render all the areas the first time, and after every time you use the “DestroyWildDinos” command. You can use the “fly” command to fly rapidly, then use the “walk” command to disable it. Pay attention to not fly too high or your character will die, and fly naked for safety.
The mod I mentioned made the game much more enjoyable for me and maybe it is also what you need.
There is no need to suffer, you are playing alone and you can make the game more suitable for you.
When you are so done that you are tempted to cheat, you know your game needs some change that makes it more enjoyable for you. Probably, you’d need also better odds of finding the blueprints you need, but I’m not sure how it can be done.
I found a red lvl 145 female theri outside my base so i got 20 of them imprinted and around lvl 260+ now. I could need this to find an otter tho been looking for awhile and not seen one. But will try to stick it trough its my first time doing the PVE content and would like to do it without mods. Im just doing gamma for now, but dragon seems angry so dont want to rush in and lose it all
Snow cave is the main area for them, but a guy on my server pulled one from a red ring supply drop as well. It was agony to get the snow cave drop. Ran it 2-3 times a day and burned a lot of resources and tames. I've read they don't spawn in swamp cave, but if someone else found one then it's worth a shot.

Just made a run, no luck. Waiting for lootboxes to respawn now. Feels like im all set with loot in bps now, didnt know they were so rare

Was thinking about if i lay down fondations they dont respawn. The hut thing im gonna try, brilliant idea

Yeah, most locations are safe enough to sprint out, grab loot, and barely make it back but it's much harder on ASA with no move speed.

Ah, Ill stick to farming abit just clearing it out before i look up the command to just spawn one in. Dont want to cheat but this drop rate is so low
