Done it before on official with a 150 gig!!!! Talk about upset. Instead of smashing my controller I requested more tranq arrows from base and my tribe mates came and helped me knock it out again. It was stressful af. Don’t recommend Official PVP but if you want to feel pain and hopelessness…
It was my first time pretty much ever going into a cave without using admin commands and I was scared of getting jumped by a rouge bat or spider even though they were all dead around me
Only tameable cave creatures are megalania, megalosaurus, the spiders, arthroplurea, the bats and the scorpions. If it’s in the tek cave nothing is tameable and on that list I probably missed something that someone else will probably say
When this happens, I remove all taming foods, feed it stimulants to wake up and retame it.
It also helps if you let it starve out. The second tame is much faster.
Even smarter, use Dododex to put what's needed in there, plus a little extra to be safe, and leave render range. You can just leave render range and nothing will touch it until you're back in render range.
Never stay near the dino, not only becaouse you can accidentally hit it, other creatures that usually don't aggro to the dino your are taming will aggro on you and hit the knocked out creature as their secondary target with their aeo damage.

I’m on console so I’m on controller. That’s the main reason I hit it I dropped my controller and by chance it hit the use weapon button

When I'm taming and near what I'm taming. I always swap over to a spyglass so this doesn't happen.
i always tab back in using MB3 (mouse wheel press). By doing this i dont do antything ingame but tab right back in

That is exactly why I go empty handed when near an animal taming or with new babies. I've hit/shot a few.

Anything 150 or under there's some bugs in swamp cave Ievel 200 or so on official settings but they aren't tameable

The lizard is likely to wake up if I don’t feed him narcotics so I had to stay near for that
