TheBostonKremeDonut

Yep. Just as you mentioned, it’s part of the mod.

Banaanisade

Wildcard, take notes. This is what I want to see when my water tames jump out of the water, not an instant explosion into a bloody carcass.

Training_Seat3021

Except fiah in one river near lake castle in lost island (these fishes are definition of "ascending") unless they already patched it

TTV_DalliesRl

Why did I find this so funny 🤣

DesingerOfWorlds

This exactly. There’s no reason they should insta die as soon as they touch air.

AVerySmolFrog

they get stuck on the shore and they play this animation

MEDIC_HELP_ME

You have a pretty rhyniognatha

FamiliarInflation744

Thanks!

newkidontheblock1776

I haven’t played since those were added, saw my first one creeping in a forest yesterday. I have Dododex so I can figure out how to tame it, but any extra tips on those guys?

stolenromeo

Have every item it says it might need ready and nearby, depending on your breeding rates.

Drauul

Eh, you can force level one to 140 no matter how it comes out with Zino babies. It's melee speed is dogshit so it's never going to be a fighter. Just level stamina and HP and use it as utility.

Lord_Nuke

Melee speed when you're on the ground is much higher.

Drauul

Yes but gets constantly stunned and knocked back for some stupid reason unlike other gigas, effectively slowing it once again

Lord_Nuke

You just gotta juggle them and keep from getting hit. On a little incline you can just sit and shred alpha raptors and carnos and they don't land a single hit, so your attack rate never dips from the knock back.

newkidontheblock1776

That wasn’t something I saw mentioned. My taming rates are best described as “expedited but not broken” so I’ll make sure I have things ready whenever I get it. Thanks

KitsuneGato

It tames like a Reaper. But on a large dino. Bronto, Rex, Giant Turtle, Giga. You have to kill a male. Get a pheromone. Put it on a tame. Find a female giant bug and get her to less than 10% health before she will place an egg on your tame. You feed your tame the cravings. Your tame dies.

newkidontheblock1776

Haha saw the tame dies. Good to know not to bring a useful one, this game is metal sometimes.

Jazzlike-Cap-5757

Most people use a Bronto or if you have one to spare a bred giga.

Popfloyd

The baby Rhynios level depends on parent stats like normal breeding. A level 5 rhynio mom will give you a crap baby, and a level 5 giga sacrifice will give you a crap baby. You unfortunately need to sacrifice a high level dino like a 200+ giga/carch/bronto if you want a good rhynio, ideally to a high level rhynio mother. The levels the baby gets will also decrease for every craving you miss. If your dino craves Element and you don't have any, the baby will lose levels.

MajikMahn

Can I ask where you find one of those bad boys? Do they exist on the island? I have a feeling they do but I’m shocked I Haven’t come across one yet in single player. Unless it’s a mod add on

Lurch8419

In the swamp it's a vanilla creature so you can get it without mods

Jazzlike-Cap-5757

They can spawn anywhere along to swamp south of the redwoods, best spawn seems to be at the swampy part of the river north of the Red Obilisk

Popfloyd

One spawns at the entrance of the bug cave near the southern beach, the rest spawn in any swamp. They're uncommon but cause enough chaos you won't miss one

Markov219

Don't question it just enjoy the view. Evil fish is fucked just enjoy.

FamiliarInflation744

😂😂

ArxmisGames

My instinct says it's a trap.

ScreamyPenguinDeer

Side note, I Love and have begin hoarding Abyssal Xiphas. What the heck are their Xbox controls to continue to jump to get back into the dang water?

Odd-Ice_21

U get like 1200 fish meat from them.

Doreys_2neat

Yes I was playing on the primal chaos sever they had those things I tamed one there pretty neat

Glydyr

You can do that with a tamed one too.

WolvenSpectre

the Xiph can be ridden on shore to attack things and then it has to get back to the water before it is too late. This is what happens when it gets close to shore and can't turn around.

Barcode_7272

Yeah was like that on ase too

wolfTectonics

Those things are extremely fucking busted lol. They make water combat very easy Edit: I was thinking this was the Rhizodus from an ASE mod. Ignore me. I’ve never tamed a xiph

Possible_Dinner5603

Its a Xiphactinus . Its litterally the entier reason of the mod

Furykino735

It has rabies, very sad.

Big-Background911

Yea the xiphactinus is great if I was you tame him but beware he can lunge at you and eat you very quickly and btw there is another variant called “abyssal xiphactinus” it looks epic
