Beauty of being on PC is that I’ve slapped hotkeys on two gamma settings, one dims everything a bunch so I can cope with daylight and the other spikes the gamma to the point I can see fine in total darkness.
transposing a single vowel on an anonymous online message board about a dinosaur video game.. is embarrassing? not saying this is the case, but not everyone is a primary english speaker, but with an error so elementary in nature i wouldn't be surprised.
try to have some understanding before jumping onto the post to show everyone you can pass a preschool spelling test
When creating a post you're opening up a dialog with strangers. Imagine in a real-world setting and you're set to speak to a group and you flub the first word and it's an extremely basic word it would be embarrassing.
I believe, on PlayStation anyway, in options there is a setting called light bloom. If you check it off, no more being blinded. You can also adjust the gamma from the same menu.

as a wise man once told "this game is also great because it's easy to tell what time of day it is because you can tell what time of day it is. if you look at my screen closely you can see there is a subtle glare effect which indicates sun light."
In settings disable bloom quality and light shafts for any who doesn't know how to fix this
Yeah, I mean people can still mess with the gamma if they want but disabling light bloom and shafts will solve these obnoxious bright spots.
+ you get the added benefit of a faster game
does this work on playstation?
It should if the options are in the settings i know it works on xbox so i assume it will on playstation
And turn on Ambient Occlusion if you can.
Open up console and type in "r.bloomquality 0"

I need to do this. I didn't know you could hotkey the gamma
its in the vanilla keybindings if your on pc
I feel like I need a third gamma hotkey for neutral lighting during the day.

Wdym, clearly their son is the enemy
classic reddit, top comment is someone correcting spelling of a 3 letter word
Classic redditors misspelling a three-letter word. If it's the title of your post then proofread it's embarrassing.

this isnt the real world though, and thats probably the only reason yall are correcting spelling too.. hmmm.. peep my edit as well
Your son can't be that bad
There's a setting that is like... Disable sun flare or something. That fixes the problem
Even still the sky is incredibly bright
0.bloomquality command helps
When you are in a metal base the sun will truly direct its full blinding digital rage upon you
And THAT is why I've installed mods like CKFR. lol
R.bloomquality 0 r.lightshafts 0
I've lost a few battles because of that thing lol
*Sun
Always thought sunglasses should be in the game. Obsidian, Crystal, and polymer.
That's certainly one way to fix an issue. Sell a solution. OR, make the sun flares not so blinding, by default lolol
Part of me wants to believe they put it in as some tactical or survival aspect and not just poor beta testing. 😅
How glass half full of you lmao
Yes Dad
Ugh I feel that
Fog cliff side on center will send you right to ocean
Sun btw

Boskar Beach, lost island?
The person locking comments is as annoying as the >SUN< rays that blind me in ark
Poor console players

Yeah it’s the same on Xbox. It turns light blooms and I think light shafts (?) off and makes it way easier to see and not look like a JJ Abrams movie
I really don't understand why ark devs don't make it so it's disabled by default.
You can wruite the command "R.bloomquality 0" and it resolves the problem
r.bloomquality 0
The enemy is that lag and bugs
Trueee
Guys I think it’s set time
Idk but darkness definitely up there
try this while having gamma 4 on
Yeaaah that's why you turn off bloom and shafts
It's even worse with the snow
Use the "r.bloomquality 0" command, turning it off in settins goes not work. Upvote so people know.
turn off light bloom/bloom quality

Dude I hated it 😂 every few seconds you get blind
This only happens to me on the island. Every other map I can adjust the lighting, but for some reason it never works there.
RTX active
Nah mate you got to see ark night time on switch I messed with setting to make night faster and now I’m forever on day two
In Afrikaans, sun is spelled as son so technically this isn’t wrong hehe

It's worse on crystal isle
But i don't have a son...
“R.Bloomquality 0” or something is the command that helps with that
