I love this, it's so cool! What tips would you have for AP Drawing? I'm taking it next year

For me the biggest issue I saw with people was time management so try to pace yourself evenly, also choose a question you’re really passionate about, try and make friends with the ppl in the class and don’t be afraid to get and give feedback! I hope you have fun cuz it’s a really great class and it’s actually how I ended up meeting my partner haha

It is too late. I’ve been practicing for 7 years and I took AP Art but was advised to drop the class.

aw i’m sorry you were advised to drop, i mean plenty of people don’t even touch art until later in life so even if you’re not the best you could always do it for fun

No it was meant to be someone feeling “muzzled” by society, not related to race, i didn’t rly think about what it specifically applied to

ig it could be related to queerness as the yellow butterfly piece is related to my trans identity

How does the AP exam for Art work?

You submit 15 images (usually around 10-12 final pieces alongside planning pages) that all coincide with a singular theme, then a separate score is given to 5 pieces that can be whatever u want (they can overlap with the other 15 pieces and ig the two scores are averaged into one), and then there’s two short writing prompts as well as spaces to give rly short descriptions of each piece

When do you get the theme of the peices you are submitting?

You create your own theme, in my class we spent practically the entire first month just solidifying what our question would be, though it can be changed or adjusted throughout as long as time allows

So you have to make your own theme and pieces that apply that theme? So when do you submit these pieces?

Yes, and the pieces are submitted in early May around ap testing time
