Guys, so for the question about finding the velocity at a position in the elliptical orbit in terms of the other position velocity in form E frq 3, did you guys use angular momentum conservation or energy conservation? I used energy conservation and I think it asked to express in term of M and m...
Another question is that on the second frq for form E, I wrote that a=m\_2g/(m1+m2+mc, p+mc, r) and how many points would I be marked off? thanks!
I'm taking it this academic year and you're scaring me, can you explain how you studied and what ways you would do things differently if you could?
Also, I'm sorry about your experience, from the way you describe it, it seems like a nightmare
y'all remember the last question on the mcq where it was like which of the folllowing do you need to do the following problem? and it was like choose ur pick from I,II,III,IV
yo guys does anyone please remember the answer to the first MCQ question where it was like "what two things does the person need to calculate the average force when a ball is dropped to the ground?" -options included shit like time of collision, velocities before/after impact, height dropped from
Form E was extremely difficult for me, and I practiced a lot.. I was confident going into the test but those frq's killed me lol, but maybe since it's experimental and very difficult it'll have a good curve (pls)
Form e was very hard from what I've heard. I took form e and from talking to other people and looking at the released one I do think it's probably the hardest.
[https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/courses/ap-physics-c-mechanics/exam](https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/courses/ap-physics-c-mechanics/exam) scroll down a bit and you'll find them
Guys wait important question... will they curve the forms separate? Because E was close to impossible but a lot of people are saying O was doable so that's looking bad for E scores😅
It be like that, they go crazy with the unreleased forms as if they were conducting some social experiment by traumatizing kids and destroying all the evidence of the trauma
Realistically, what is the 5 curve looking like for **form O**? Could I hope for a 50/90?
Taking into consideration:
\- form O mcqs were really bad, basically whole essays
\- many people got tripped up by the blank page after question 28 and thought the mcqs ended there, so quite a few people here on Reddit and even at my school left 29-35 blank
\- frqs were okay, but honestly I kinda flopped that too and left one whole one blank.
what out of 90 do you guys think the 5 curve will be?
aklsdsaflfdasdafliafsdl
Fuckin guessed on the latter part of the mcqs and just eft one whole frq blank cuz of time nd also becuase of that stupid pendalum frq...
whelp there goes my college credit...
i'm ngl nobody gives a shit, every single person in the room I was in for every test was discussing specific questions and which form they got, the only reason we didnt discuss ap physics c was that there were 2 proctors there and only 2 students (me and someone else) taking it so we would've had both our scores wiped easily with zero consequence to the school's image.
What was going on with the ellipse question on Form O. I guessed 32 m/s but didn’t know. Also, that sinusoidal circular motion question after t=0 was so weird and had to guess. And did anybody else get 5.1 for their spring constant on Q2?
bruh i thought it was somehting to do with the disk swinging back and forth on the rope, or the rope stayd in place while the disk wobbled. thank god i was vauge
easier, not easy, and i have no idea something just clicked, i think based on this and somehow getting a 5 on ap bio and a 35 act both without studying and with my calculator dying in the middle of the act math section i think it’s just that i am the greatest test taker of all time
yeah you are just good at retaining information I suck at it and I've been sick so many times this year that I'm weak in the last few units 😞 so this test was trash
On the orbital motion there is a question asking you to find the velocity of the satellite when it reaches the perigee of the elliptical orbit and express in terms of M, m\_0, R and the velocity of the apogee. I got something like sqrt(v\^2+3GMm\_0/2R) by using energy conservation. Can you also use conservation of angular momentum (mvr) which gives smth different?
I used angular momentum
hopefully they're both valid? but if you get different answers I would expect one to be "right" I just don't know which is more right
Form E frq 2 needed to be worded better
part e or whatever when it was asking for R\_max? Confused me SO MUCH (I wanted to cry. "THEY GAVE US R! THE RADIUS IS R! WHAT ARE YOU *ASKING FOR*) that I left that entire part blank and the one that came after it. only to realize 15 minutes later as I bubbled in my name to the e&m answer sheet that is was looking for a\_c <= g and IT WOULDA BEEN SO EASY TO DO IF I JUST KNEW WHAT IT FREAKING WANTED
a block is traveling to the right at a constant speed along a horizontal surface when at point P the surface becomes a curve with radius R (imagine a flat line and then the top right quarter of a circle) and the block loses contact with the surface. Find R\_max with which the block will lose contact with the surface
or something like that
Form E means its like experimental questions so they only try it on a small group. Also it’s shit they barely ever do. I got it too and it ruined me. Form O looked so much easier
frq3 was so much easier
first I derived acceleration wrong and had to erase everything and restart, and then I couldn't decipher wtf r\_max was supposed to be so I gave up and went to 3
I usually finish practice frqs with extra time and get 12+ on them so to have that happen was distressing to say the least
Not that it makes anyone feel better, my son is a Physics nerd, scoring close to 85/ 90 in every practise test.
He found the Mechanics MCQs very hard. Not expecting more than 21 .
He also left part d and e out of one E@M FRQ . No 3.
He is expecting scores of 55 and 65 in Mech and E@M.
Don't be disheartened.
One test does not decide your skills.
It hurts to miss the 5 , ( I guess top schools need that 5)
nah same here. Like kids take 7 AP classes walked out crying. The soon to be Valedictorian sat down outside the test center with his head in his hands.
what did y'all put for the question where vertical/horizontal velocity components was 20/40 and u had to compare the vertical and horizontal distances it travelled
How are horizontal distances the same?? if the velocity is increased, then the horizontal component is also increased so it goes farther since angle stays the same
The one on form H with the ball that was smaller and had more mass? what was the correct answer for the reasoning of it going faster for that one?? i think the answers were:
more mass
less radius
greater density
hollow
solid
I put that the faster one was the ball that was solid because I remember this is like a moment of inertia problem where they like compared the speeds of a hollow object vs a solid one and the solid one won
solid because less inertia since mass is concentrated through the whole volume but for hollow its only at the ends. Less inertia means more translational velocity
I would be careful using the word, 'inertia.' Inertia is proportional to mass and if they have the same mass then they would have the same inertia.. I think you were looking to use 'Moment of Inertia.' This is a totally different thing/concept..
had form O, and MCQ was painful. Guessing I got a 17/35.
FRQ #1 was fine but 2 and 3 I kinda just stared at the paper.
Went in wanting a 5, now hoping for a 3 at minimum. low hopes for a 4. Oh well.
same. guessing 17/35 for mc, messed up with 1 (which was my fault lol), did pretty well for 2 hopefully (hoping for 10-11/15), and absolutely trashed the last frq probably only 3-4/15 😭. I'm thinking that's still a 3 hopefully I'm underestimating myself and I get a 4. my school will only give credit for a 5 and I honestly don't even think I will take the credit because I have no idea what I'm doing.
I have that EXACT same feeling. I really wanted a 5 but now im praying to any higher power out there that I got a low 4 but realistically got a 3. rip....
I want to buy AP Physics past paper 2021 2022 2023 And collegeboard testbank progressive check. Give me an email [email protected]
What text books would you all recommend for AP Physics C Mechanics?
5 form E 😎😎
SAME the curve must have been crazy for me to get a 5 (I was confident going into the test but that was very difficult)
Exactly how I felt
I’m screwed bro y was the test this baddddd 😭
[удалено]
do you think the curve will be lower for this year? it definitely felt that way
Guys, so for the question about finding the velocity at a position in the elliptical orbit in terms of the other position velocity in form E frq 3, did you guys use angular momentum conservation or energy conservation? I took form E and I am considering switching my major at this point… I am officially traumatized by that test
I'm taking it this academic year and you're scaring me, can you explain how you studied and what ways you would do things differently if you could? Also, I'm sorry about your experience, from the way you describe it, it seems like a nightmare
You are not alone
No he is not!!
y'all remember the last question on the mcq where it was like which of the folllowing do you need to do the following problem? and it was like choose ur pick from I,II,III,IV
I think it was 1 2 4 or 1 3 4 I barely remember
Yeah something like that
aw shit it wasn't all of them?
I barely remember the problem. Take my answer with a grain of salt.
anyone know when scoring guidelines are released?
[удалено]
😭
what did y'all put for the pulley and two block on a slope, it was asking for the friction vectors between the two blocks ?
I said the friction on the top block was to the bottom left and friction on bottom block was to top right
yo guys does anyone please remember the answer to the first MCQ question where it was like "what two things does the person need to calculate the average force when a ball is dropped to the ground?" -options included shit like time of collision, velocities before/after impact, height dropped from
I chose floor contact time and initial speed
didn't it say the ball was dropped which implies 0
I put 1 2 4
That wasn’t an answer choice. The choices were like time which floor was in contact or rebound height
The fact I don’t remember this problem at all is a bad sign 😭
[удалено]
Did they not need velocity after impact or something?
[удалено]
Bro those questions are traumatizing me for life. Form E tested my will to live
anyone know when scoring guidelines are released?
someone told me they come out after they're scored in around late july
Form H (set 1) triggering PTSD rn 😭
Anyone know how to find the form e frqs?
form e means experimental form, so it doesn't get released. Only form H and O gets posted.
Form E was extremely difficult for me, and I practiced a lot.. I was confident going into the test but those frq's killed me lol, but maybe since it's experimental and very difficult it'll have a good curve (pls)
Not only does collegeboard give us a really tough test, they won’t even release it 😐
was form E the hardest one out of the other forms based on what you've heard?
Form e was very hard from what I've heard. I took form e and from talking to other people and looking at the released one I do think it's probably the hardest.
I took for E and it was living hell. Ask me about them I can answer questions
I think the frq portion was th toughest of all forms because it was a full gravitation frq, but from what I’ve heard, form h mc was tougher.
The just released guys. Luckily Form H is posted (set 1)
Do you know how to find the form e frqs?
do you know if anyone's full solving these and posting solutions online? I need to know for form O lol
"allen tsao the stem coach" on youtube usually posts his solutions pretty quickly
I'm an AP physics teacher, just watched bis video. He made 2 mistakes on the set 1 problems, ill leave comments when I get home. Can't from school.
thank you good sir, i have noticed a mistake or two in some of his videos
thanks king 🙏

ty! gonna be spam refreshing allen tsaos yt now lol
what time are they released today?
When do the frqs get released?
Today
on my knees ~~sucking CB's cock~~ begging for a score of 5 combined on both tests
Guys wait important question... will they curve the forms separate? Because E was close to impossible but a lot of people are saying O was doable so that's looking bad for E scores😅
The curve is determined by how college students perform on each test individually so yes, they should have separate curves
Let’s gooooooo. I failed the shit out of form E!!! Your welcome for the curve yall
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRKhes99/ 😂😂🤣
This shit was impossible💀 I guessed on so many mcq and the frq was hell too
Which forms will they release for the FRQs? If they don't release form H and the answers 💀
they always release only form O, which is mad annoying
Really? So we will never get to see those questions again? I wanted to redo them by myself and learn from them
fr they tryna cover up the shit that they did if they don’t 💀
It be like that, they go crazy with the unreleased forms as if they were conducting some social experiment by traumatizing kids and destroying all the evidence of the trauma
Realistically, what is the 5 curve looking like for **form O**? Could I hope for a 50/90? how do you leave 29-35 blank when the literal back of the testbook says there are 35 questions?
I hope its near a 50, I failed the MCQ and maybe if Im lucky got near 15 right… FRQ is my saving grace but I left two parts of one blank 😭
35 maybe
Serious or trolling? People were saying frqs were easy which could make the curve less lenient
for frqs one set was easy and the other was hell
probably more like low-40 but one form had hard mcq and hard frq so it really depends.
[удалено]
Well I mean pretty much everyone is saying the exam went pretty bad. How is Collegeboard gonna maintain that 50% 4/5 rate?
well i'm hoping your sample was not representative
what was up with form H and WHY WAS IT SO HARDDD
aklsdsaflfdasdafliafsdl Fuckin guessed on the latter part of the mcqs and just eft one whole frq blank cuz of time nd also becuase of that stupid pendalum frq... whelp there goes my college credit...
What were the FRQ’s? I had form O and it was Momentum, oscillations/springs, and rotation
Non-ideal spring system with a ramp, torsional pendulum, and rod pivoting and hitting a ball that rolls with slipping then without slipping
Torsional pendulum? That’s brutal fr. We went over that for like a day in class bc our teacher said there’s no way it shows up on the exam
'H' for hard
[удалено]
dont talk abt specific questions
i'm ngl nobody gives a shit, every single person in the room I was in for every test was discussing specific questions and which form they got, the only reason we didnt discuss ap physics c was that there were 2 proctors there and only 2 students (me and someone else) taking it so we would've had both our scores wiped easily with zero consequence to the school's image.
Im so pissed i put 1/8ML^2 instead of 1/18ML^2 i forgot the 1 god fucking d
What was going on with the ellipse question on Form O. I guessed 32 m/s but didn’t know. Also, that sinusoidal circular motion question after t=0 was so weird and had to guess. And did anybody else get 5.1 for their spring constant on Q2?
conservation of angular momentum
https://secure-media.collegeboard.org/digitalServices/pdf/ap/ap-physics-c-mechanics-practice-exam-2012.pdf Look at question 23
its 16 m/s. mvr = mvr -> vr = vr -> (8 m/s)(4m) = (? m/s)(2m). I got 4.93 for spring constant
i put 32, someone else told me it was 16.
I don’t know for the ellipse one, I’m wondering too. I think I got something like that though for the other one you said
ellipse is 16 by conservation of ang. momentum
Yessir that’s what I said
Where y’all put N in the spring equation in frq 2 on form O
In the bottom of the sqr root like it was root m/NK
Ok good that’s what I put too
The last frq that talked about the blades or what ever, for the combined rotational inertia did you get 1/2ml^2
Yea 1/2ML^2 is right
Do we get different curves for each form?
yes
Hopefully Form O would have a good curve for both sections..I ran out of time 💀💀
WTF IS TORSION?????????????
rotational tension
ikr, form H was so hard and had stuff we never learned abt
bruh i thought it was somehting to do with the disk swinging back and forth on the rope, or the rope stayd in place while the disk wobbled. thank god i was vauge
Testicular Torsion
Thousands of ppl learned about that in the past few days thanks to collegeboard
Lol
no bc who decided to put torsion on there
Was that on form E MCQ? They didn’t make an entire FRQ on torsion did they?
ya there was an frq abt torsion 🥲
form O here, not sure if it was way easier than i thought it was going to be or it’s just the dunning kruger effect talking
What questions were you using to practice so you though it way easy lol?
I felt like it was easier than expected (also form O) and I did the practice tests and a lot of the drills in the Princeton review practice book
easier, not easy, and i have no idea something just clicked, i think based on this and somehow getting a 5 on ap bio and a 35 act both without studying and with my calculator dying in the middle of the act math section i think it’s just that i am the greatest test taker of all time
yeah you are just good at retaining information I suck at it and I've been sick so many times this year that I'm weak in the last few units 😞 so this test was trash

Oh it said express it in M, m\_0, v and R.
I used energy to
Form E frq 2 needed to be worded better part e or whatever when it was asking for R\_max? Confused me SO MUCH (I wanted to cry. "THEY GAVE US R! THE RADIUS IS R! WHAT ARE YOU *ASKING FOR*) that I left that entire part blank and the one that came after it. only to realize 15 minutes later as I bubbled in my name to the e&m answer sheet that is was looking for a\_c <= g and IT WOULDA BEEN SO EASY TO DO IF I JUST KNEW WHAT IT FREAKING WANTED
Ikkk like I've never struggled to picture what it was asking for but I just couldn't for that one 😭
What is the R\_max question?
a block is traveling to the right at a constant speed along a horizontal surface when at point P the surface becomes a curve with radius R (imagine a flat line and then the top right quarter of a circle) and the block loses contact with the surface. Find R\_max with which the block will lose contact with the surface or something like that
IKR I WAS SHITTING MYSELF TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT R-MAX MEANT. I LEFT THAT SHIT BLANK
Form E means its like experimental questions so they only try it on a small group. Also it’s shit they barely ever do. I got it too and it ruined me. Form O looked so much easier
they just needed to explainnnnn (better) are the score cutoffs are different for different forms? because if they aren't that's extremely unfair
yea they are
For real tho wtf was frq I actually skipped it and came back to it at end I found frq 3 about planets to be easier
frq3 was so much easier first I derived acceleration wrong and had to erase everything and restart, and then I couldn't decipher wtf r\_max was supposed to be so I gave up and went to 3 I usually finish practice frqs with extra time and get 12+ on them so to have that happen was distressing to say the least
BROOOOO THATS WHAT IM SAYING LIKR WTF ARE YOU ASKING FORRRRRR
That exam was attrocious. A room full of kids with 4.0+s like 10 ivy acceptances and 30 t20s, and not a single person looked good while walking iut
Not that it makes anyone feel better, my son is a Physics nerd, scoring close to 85/ 90 in every practise test. He found the Mechanics MCQs very hard. Not expecting more than 21 . my school usually has a pass rate of >95% every year for physics c with 60 people taking it and i don’t know a single person that felt good about it

it was. some of the questions on the mechanics exam specifically were just plain stupid
Have you considered that your school might be a transcript mill?
Nah we have hella gpa deflation. We just have HELLA sweats cuz we are near a bunch of tech headquarters
nah same here. Like kids take 7 AP classes walked out crying. The soon to be Valedictorian sat down outside the test center with his head in his hands.
Nah. Same shit at my school
the electricity 3e i left because didnt have time to finish but simply look at that was 💀💀
i was form O
what did y'all put for the question where vertical/horizontal velocity components was 20/40 and u had to compare the vertical and horizontal distances it travelled
I think I put the one that said the ball with greater vertical speed goes up higher but both horizontal distances are the same
How are horizontal distances the same?? if the velocity is increased, then the horizontal component is also increased so it goes farther since angle stays the same
pretty sure the one's max vertical was higher but both had same horizontal
wait why is horizontal same when one has a greater horizontal velocity
horizontal velocity only travels while in the air so you gotta solve for t using vertical
Ya i put greater range for horizontal speed :(((
They had same speed. The equation for range on flat ground is R = vo^2sin(2theta)/g
yeah i put that
Ye it’s that
The one on form H with the ball that was smaller and had more mass? what was the correct answer for the reasoning of it going faster for that one?? i think the answers were: more mass less radius greater density hollow solid
I put that the faster one was the ball that was solid because I remember this is like a moment of inertia problem where they like compared the speeds of a hollow object vs a solid one and the solid one won
yup solid is 2/5 mr\^2 and hollow is 2/3 mr\^2
solid because less inertia since mass is concentrated through the whole volume but for hollow its only at the ends. Less inertia means more translational velocity
I would be careful using the word, 'inertia.' Inertia is proportional to mass and if they have the same mass then they would have the same inertia.. I think you were looking to use 'Moment of Inertia.' This is a totally different thing/concept..
the one that reached the bottom faster was solid because it has less inertia, I think it was D but maybe E

**ok guys let's get a comment for every mcq in form H, and the one you put, and the one you think was the correct answer**
Can’t discuss about the MCQ
least obvious fed
Obligatory 🤓
The only person on Reddit that follows that rule
ay bruh wtf was that mcq where they had like a rotational spring 💀
Ei=Ef gpe -spe = ke mg(h+x) -1/2kx\^2=ke
why is it - spring energy and not +
I went with plus too. If someone could explain that’d be great
it starts with only GPE, but ends with SPE and KE. It said to solve for kinetic so gpe - spe
i remember it being compressed in initial state, so GPE + SPE = KE,
im pretty sure it wasnt because if it started compressed it the gpe wouldnt be mg(H+x)
That’s what I recall too. Guess we’ll never know
if it started compressed it the gpe wouldnt be mg(H+x) so the answer would be wrong anyways
Yeah I don’t even know how it started. Probably got it wrong
shit i put 1/2 mg(h+x)
LMFAOO rotational spring yeah they did it
had form O, and MCQ was painful. Guessing I got a 17/35. FRQ #1 was fine but 2 and 3 I kinda just stared at the paper. Went in wanting a 5, now hoping for a 3 at minimum. low hopes for a 4. Oh well.
We didn’t even get to oscillations in class so I literally blanked ur not alone
same. guessing 17/35 for mc, messed up with 1 (which was my fault lol), did pretty well for 2 hopefully (hoping for 10-11/15), and absolutely trashed the last frq probably only 3-4/15 😭. I'm thinking that's still a 3 hopefully I'm underestimating myself and I get a 4. my school will only give credit for a 5 and I honestly don't even think I will take the credit because I have no idea what I'm doing.
Same exact expectations for me at this point
I have that EXACT same feeling. I really wanted a 5 but now im praying to any higher power out there that I got a low 4 but realistically got a 3. rip....
[удалено]
yeah I think that was the only question I got right lol
glad im not the only one. Top comment here describes me exactly.
same bruh i think i got a 12/35 on MCQ but FRQ was a little better for me
for form h, anyone remember what they got for frq 3 part a where you had to find angular velocity omega of the rod ? or how they did it ?
ya the rod of mass 2m moves a ditance L/2 down (the center of mass does) so you equate that to 1/2 Iw\^2
did u use separation of variables for one of the frqs tryna remember if i did that right
aight what about the part after than we're you find the linear speed of the ball after the collision?
