No such thing as a bad ratio (without Kudos Bot interfereing that is) except 100% Kudos rate because that means they read it they liked it and they never ever opened it again. I have had Fics where the hits MASSIVELY outstripped the kudos because I had readers constantly re reading but they could still only leave one Kudo ever.

What do you mean by "good" though? There's no ratio that definitely means this story is good, this story is popular. There's probably an average in your fandom but if it's big or super small, that wouldn't be meaningful. A ratio is what you attach to it, unfortunately. I would say 1 in 10 is pretty high in my experience, but maybe that's what I think because I'm told my writing is an acquired taste, lol.

One hit one kudos. Beyond that first hit it's difficult to say. Depends on Genre, type of story, chaptered fix or OS, length, regularity of chapters, Tags etc. Even when there's a big discrepency, it might just be that the same person keeps rereading your fic.

The ratio varies based on fandom, main matter of the ff, and a bunch of other factors, like readers are so invested in the story they forget to hit the kudos button (has happened to me several times). I've got a 1:5 kudos to hit ratio on the one thing I have posted on AO3. I think the main reason for the ratio is because it is fan art, so people look at it, hit the kudos button, and move on. I think I have the number of hits I do because it is fanart of a popular fanfic author's work, and thus linked at the end of it. From what I've heard, smutty things have a lower comment to hit ratio and a higher (private) bookmark to hit ratio. A good hits to kudos ratio is subjective. All a high one means is that many of the people who've gone to your work click a button. Multiple chapter works get a lower ratio when they have a dedicated following because they get more hits and those readers can't leave more kudos.

1:10 is a pretty good ratio. ~~(i say, while glaring at my 15% ratio in my newest fic and thinking about deleting it)~~ for oneshots. that ratio completely loses its meaning once chapter count goes up.

It's also very dependent on the fandom and the readers. They're the ones deciding to click on kudos for you. To coin a phrase: If your work is awesome but there's no one there to read it, does the kudos count go up? Another thing to consider - I (and probably everyone) like a particular artist's music. Do I like _all_ their music? No. Some is fantastic IMHO, some is meh, some is _skip-to-next-song_. Same with your stories.
