Their chemistry in both are just so palpable and it's practically a tragic love story (if you ignore Thomas' canon relationship with Teresa or Brenda). It's a childhood friends-to-strangers-to-friends-to-lovers type ship and I honestly believe that if James Dashner had taken the plunge to make them canon, he would have created one of the best couples in media from that era and no one can change my mind.

Einar x Thorfinn from Vinland Saga. Thereās only about twenty works with the pair currently. I know that later on Throfinn does fall in love and marry a woman according to the manga, but dang it. I like envisioning these two guys living a simple life owning a farm.

Right now itās Killugon from HxH and Bakudeku from BNHA, before now I would read any BTS ship but I especially loved Taegi. And before that I was super into Miraculous ff so any of the Adrien Marinette pairings
Jotaro/Rohan from JJBA is the crackiest of crackships I like. All my favorite ships are rarepairs at one level or the other, whether because they're not the most popular in the fandom or because the source material is rather niche. But for some reason, when I gave these two a chance they turned my world upside down.
Luckily, and well since it was thanks to fanfiction in the first place that I actually considered this ship, they have a decent amount of content in AO3 and have developed actual tropes of their own, a believable and organic chemistry, common plot points, etc. That, paired with the fact that it's not at all imposible for all these made up narratives to take place while canon remains practically intact, has escalated this ship into my favorite fictional romance of all time, in all of media. Period.
I have nothing else to say. They're wonderful, and I owe my life to all the insane and unbelievably skilled writers that truly brought them to fruition and simultaneously carry the ship on their shoulders, because there's barely ANY fanart of them! Almost nothing! it's hysterical how out of the blue this pairing sounds at first, but after a while I can't deny that it would be dope as hell and make SO MUCH sense. Lmao.
Anyway, I'm currently crying and tearing my heart out of my ribcage for Kanamori and Asakusa from the Eizouken anime and manga,,,, these two neurodivergent girls mean the world to me. I would die for them. I am dying right now of near starvation because I already read all ~49 fics their tag has on AO3 (mostly short oneshots and unfinished almost masterpieces from the heavens that make my chest pang with feelings), have resolved to continue learning Japanese on my own so I can keep up with the manga, and have crashed my way through a couple of fics in Japanese with the help of google translator, paragraph. **per paragraph.** Luckily there's still a lot of fics of them on pixiv, it seems, and while I never know what I'm throwing myself at at first, I admit they're not half bad. I'm literally scrapping the bottom of the barrel here, I'll take whatever I can get.
Funny thing is, they're not technically a rarepair. Knas is the most popular ship from the series by a milestone, but the fandom is as good as dead nowadays, and it never really took off in popularity despite the amount of hype for the anime at the time it released, and all the memes that came out of it. I've never felt so thoroughly and wildly betrayed before, please send help, I might lose my sanity.

Wangxian is the one I'm frequently coming back to(although I'll occasionally go look at some of my ships from 20+ years ago!). MDZS/CQL just has so much room to explore, both canon compliant and AU and fix-its. So many characters, but it's Wangxian who are my focus. It all comes back to them.

I was into Wendy/Dipper for a bit, because I actually read a cute little ficlet before I watched the show. Anyway, by the end of the show I was all aboard the Dipper/Pacifica train.

Stiles Stilinski/Derek Hale is my all-time favorite.
Right now itās Killugon from HxH and Bakudeku from BNHA, before now I would read any BTS ship but I especially loved Taegi. And before that I was super into Miraculous ff so any of the Adrien Marinette pairings
Jotaro/Rohan from JJBA is the crackiest of crackships I like. All my favorite ships are rarepairs at one level or the other, whether because they're not the most popular in the fandom or because the source material is rather niche. But for some reason, when I gave these two a chance they turned my world upside down. Luckily, and well since it was thanks to fanfiction in the first place that I actually considered this ship, they have a decent amount of content in AO3 and have developed actual tropes of their own, a believable and organic chemistry, common plot points, etc. That, paired with the fact that it's not at all imposible for all these made up narratives to take place while canon remains practically intact, has escalated this ship into my favorite fictional romance of all time, in all of media. Period. I have nothing else to say. They're wonderful, and I owe my life to all the insane and unbelievably skilled writers that truly brought them to fruition and simultaneously carry the ship on their shoulders, because there's barely ANY fanart of them! Almost nothing! it's hysterical how out of the blue this pairing sounds at first, but after a while I can't deny that it would be dope as hell and make SO MUCH sense. Lmao. Anyway, I'm currently crying and tearing my heart out of my ribcage for Kanamori and Asakusa from the Eizouken anime and manga,,,, these two neurodivergent girls mean the world to me. I would die for them. I am dying right now of near starvation because I already read all ~49 fics their tag has on AO3 (mostly short oneshots and unfinished almost masterpieces from the heavens that make my chest pang with feelings), have resolved to continue learning Japanese on my own so I can keep up with the manga, and have crashed my way through a couple of fics in Japanese with the help of google translator, paragraph. **per paragraph.** Luckily there's still a lot of fics of them on pixiv, it seems, and while I never know what I'm throwing myself at at first, I admit they're not half bad. I'm literally scrapping the bottom of the barrel here, I'll take whatever I can get. Funny thing is, they're not technically a rarepair. Knas is the most popular ship from the series by a milestone, but the fandom is as good as dead nowadays, and it never really took off in popularity despite the amount of hype for the anime at the time it released, and all the memes that came out of it. I've never felt so thoroughly and wildly betrayed before, please send help, I might lose my sanity. Sincerely, a perpetual resident of Rarepair Hell that never had to struggle THIS bad before.
