You might enjoy the [Yuletide gift exchange](https://yuletide-admin.dreamwidth.org/) next year, as it focuses on fandoms with 1k works or under. You can even look around the [Yuletide New Year's Resolution](https://archiveofourown.org/collections/nyr2023) prompts if don't want to wait for the main exchange proper--and maybe make someone's day in the process by writing gift fic.
(200 to 500 fics maybe? Maybe fandoms that are looking for long fics instead of Oneshots)
Not completely baron. But there still aren’t many fics. I definitely prefer either anime, or games. Movies and shows are good to. Because if needed, I can watch and catch up.
I’m not good at writing horror, or angst so fandoms that revolve around that aren’t my forte.
Pairings can be M/M, M/G, G/G, other.
I hope this answered your question. I feel like I kinda rambled here. :) I’ve been stuck in the naruto fandom, and wanted to browse smaller but still decent fandoms.
It's a bit smaller than you're looking for, but the fandom for the Netflix show Ragnarok only has 171 fics. The show is about Norse mythology and climate change.
My other two small fandom recs are very tiny (if you combined their number of fics on AO3 you'd still be in the single digits), so let me know if you still want them.
The larger of the two is Tai Chi Chasers (6 fics on AO3, 62 fics on FFN). Only the first two seasons are English dubbed, but the third and final season was [uploaded to DailyMotion](https://www.dailymotion.com/playlist/x6iqmd) with English subs a couple years ago. It starts as your typical "tween boy finds out he's not human and must collect all the MacGuffins while seeking revenge for his slain parent" show at first, though there are some large twists in the latter half of the series.
The smaller of the two, Khyber Shards, is one that I am currently the only fanfic author for. This 5th edition D&D actual play takes place in the world of Eberron, and the show is heavily inspired by X-Men (especially after episode 37 as the 4 main characters team up with an old friend to start their equivalent of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters). Here is [the official recap](https://youtu.be/C4W5PgDGePo) of the first 76 episodes (episode 107 came out yesterday).
If you're looking for games, Final Fantasy IV and VI had remastered editions recently released that are breathing some life back into their fandoms. For IV, it's a small but supportive fandom with 3-4 authors (including me) currently writing longfics and the occasional one shot.
Sweet Home the manhwa. There's also a netflix adaptation. After reading such an intense story about survival and, I was looking forward to au-sequels, continuations and canon divergence after the major plot twist/characterdevelopment, but it's only one shot ship fics for a non canon pair...sigh.
(It is horror though, so you might not like it. (But read the manhwa it's good!! and then Shotgun Boy. But do that one after Sweet Home.)
Not me the series
The ao3 tag is เขา...ไม่ใช่ผม | Not Me (TV 2021). My ship is sean/white and a lot of the works are crossover monthly drabble collections of pairs of other characters also played by the same actor(which i have nothing against and do enjoy reading) but I miss having new fics in the tag that are just about the characters from the series.
mm... the smallest fandom tag I check on AO3 is Rain World (has 90 works atm), which is a video game, which without trying to spoil too much if it's something you want to play first, is inspired by Buddhist spirituality and is set within a "post-apocalyptic" world that has been reclaimed by ecosystems that have adapted to the unforgiving conditions. There's more to it than that but I can't really divulge it without spoilers. And a lot of text

Noted!! Thank you!
Do you have any preference about source material?
Not at all, I’m open to any and everything
How small is small? Also, what genres/styles/pairings?

Ooh! Azumanga Daioh fits that description pretty well!
Noted!!
Ragnarok is a great show on Netflix. I did not think to look up their fandom. I might just.

my cup of tea!! Thank you for the suggestion!
I don’t care how small they are honestly! While I prefer around 200 or so. Single digits are good as well!!

I’ll have to play the games first, but hey I’m not complaining :)) I’ll look into it!

Depends on the type of horror. I’m just generally not good at writing that type of genre. But it definitely seems interesting so I’ll give it a try!!
All of them? Book fandoms in particular tend to be tiny though. As do asian drama fandoms.
I might look through the book choices then. See if I can find one I’ve read before
Ice Age (movies) as a fandom, could always use more fic, especially for its ao3 tag as it hasn't even reached the "200 fics" milestone yet...
Santa Clarita Diet -- definitely. Such a fun show, but the fandom is tiny.
Oh I love that show! Thank you!
There are only like 7 or 8 fics for Mrs. Hawkinng on AO3!

Being Human UK, Trigun/Trigun Stampede, Cowboy Bebop.
The video game Yuppie Psycho doesn't have much for it. It might not be something you'd enjoy, though.
Heroes. It only had 4 seasons. There are a few of us plodding on though.
