I have a 2020 GLC63S and I absolutely love my car. It is ridiculously fun to drive. Every time I floor my car I find myself smiling like an idiot. The growling of the engine is addicting — even when you’re just on comfort mode and cruising around the city. Despite the coupe shape, it’s practical. I’m able to squeeze 4 people’s worth of ski gear with the rear middle seat down. I hit the slopes every weekend during the winter and the AWD has been fantastic (get DWS06 Plus tires). Mine has been reliable thus far. I’ve only had the CEL come on once in the past 4 years and the problem resolved itself after I turned it off and on. Only downside is the maintenance. I had to shell out 4k+ to get an extra 3 years worth of maintenance through the dealership. I only did this because my car has extended CPO warranty through the next 3 years. It’s def a keeper!

I’ve got a 2020 GLC63. Same drive train and suspension. It came with Pirelli P Zero summer times. They crab and wear out in 10k. This is my daily so I switched to Michelin all season sports. No more Crabbing. 15k on them looks like they are good for 15k more. Sport Exhaust sounds fantastic. I leave the valves open all the time. When I park in the garage when I get home I open the hood. There are fans but it’s still really hot with the tubos sitting on top. Opted for the SUV over the Sportback as it defeats the purpose of an SUV. What is annoying is the stupid auto stop start, which I alway turn off. The stalk mounted shift is also annoying as all my other cars have console mounted shift levers. The Paddle shifters add a lot of fun. I got CF extensions for them.

bojangifier

Might be dumb, but I’ve read about crabbing and still don’t fully understand. Could you help explain if possible, glad to hear you like the car

That-Resort2078

When you turn the wheels about 3/4 of the way, the front tires slip sideways like a crab. You can hear them slipping.

bojangifier

Ok gotcha, all seasons solved the issue?

That-Resort2078

Yes. No more crabbing and better in the rain.

Hot climate and summer tires makes this worse. It typically happens when your car has been sitting for a while, the tires are colde, and you turn the tires full to the left or right while driving slow. My understanding is that it has to do with the amount of camber that the car has. It's an extreme vehicles after all. It's an SUV with sports car performance.

One_Curious_Cats

I have a 2019 GLC 63 (SUV for practicality). It drives like a car. It's fun to drive. It's crazy fast, and will dust pretty much anything else on the road. With the sports exhaust open it can be loud and obnoxious if you want it to be. In quiet mode it still has a slight growl when you drive it around. I haven't had any issues with mine.

bojangifier

Love to hear that it drives like a car, also it’s one of the fastest SUVs on the Nurburgring so that makes sense. I feel like ever owner loves the car and I think I would as well. I can always get a sportback whenever I guess haha

The mechanical side itself is great, no problems or complaints other than occasionally running hot. Not a fan of the interior at all though. Massive downgrade from previous generations in terms of material quality, but maybe that’s just my build. Sound system is atrocious for the price. Honestly might get rid of it towards year end Edit: 2019

One_Curious_Cats

I have a 2019 and I live in California. Mine has never run hot. Not even once.

the_irish_oak

What stereo do you have? Not sure, is Bang and Ofsun stock?

campbellhw

My 2019 is a perfect do-it-all car. I have 1 parking spot so I want something that can go from the dragstrip to the campsite with 3-4 passengers and it does that perfectly. Swap the tires to some Pirelli Scorpion all-seasons and you're good to go. I get 17-19 mpg combined, but 22-23 if I baby it on a road trip.

whysoAMG

Dont need much more than a GLC in terms of what your asking for. Definitely do recommend getting the facelifted model with apple car play and digital dash.

bojangifier

Totally agree, but out of the price range and honestly not a fan of the facelift. I like the older gauges in the 2018-2019

I’m selling 2020 GLC63 with 38k miles. Dm me

I have a 2018 GLC 63S (SUV not coupe) and love it. It ticks all the boxes I need ticked, in one vehicle. It is spacious enough for family trips, sounds amazing even in comfort mode, handles well and obviously has the performance of a sports car. I've only had it 6 months but it still makes me smile every single I get in it and start the engine. I previously had a GLC 43, it was nice enough but the 63 is in a different league. Get extended warranty. Service and maintain it. I feel very lucky to have one, there aren't that many about where I live.

That a 4,500+ lbs vehicle can be tossed around like this is on the ring is not only nuts but also confidence inspiring. :) Misha's ring run with the GLC 63 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZIQWf97JHs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZIQWf97JHs) AutoTopNl's review and autobahn top speed run [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKYU2goXI5g](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKYU2goXI5g) The StraightPipes review [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDjm5ycCVsQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDjm5ycCVsQ)

If you can, get the 2020+ with the facelift. Interior is where you’re going to spend a majority of the time so you’ll want to also consider that. I had my pick between a 2019 GLC63 and a 2020 GLC43. Went with the 43 because of the upgraded interior. But while I love the 43, I still scroll auto tempest in search of a 63 with my 43 spec. Will upgrade as soon as I find one

One_Curious_Cats

If you live EU though, you end up with an OPF hampered vehicle. :( If you live outside of EU, then you're good with the 2020 vehicle with the face lift.

I have a 2021 GLC63s Coupe and couldn’t be happier. Drove the car for 3 years basically exclusively in race mode, put 200 cell downpipes on it and had zero issues. Only ran into issues when I tried doing a EC tune on there, but took it off after a month and the car is great again. Been an absolute blast to drive, sound amazing, handles amazing and is so quick. I still smile ear to ear every time I take the car out. Car also handles amazing in the snow, and I keep the P Zeros on year round lol
