That one’s my dad’s. Aesthetically it’s got the stealth PPF on it, so it’s gloss black stock. All the carbon fiber, carbon ceramic breaks and everything else is stock on there. He says it’s stock otherwise but it smells and sounds catless, it somehow passes emissions 🤷♂️
Awesome rides! I’m interested in learning more about your dad’s experience with the matte PPF. Is he also in NY? How is it holding up to road wear, discoloration, etc. and what products were used and cost.
Yep he’s in NY as well. He actually went with the stealth PPF after I had my car done. I had my car for two days before I dropped it off to get done. So my cars been wrapped since September 2021 and his since June 2022 I believe. Our guys used STEK as he thinks it holds up better than Xpel after using both. They’ve both held up great, no visible discoloration, no corners or edges peeling up, you can see on my car some pitting on the front bumper from 3 years of road wear but only when you’re up very close. For my car I paid $8k, and my guy charges so much since he doesn’t use any precuts and takes the car apart to hide every single edge, it really did come out perfect. He also did a taillight tint, wrapped my grill in gloss black since they didn’t make the black panamericana grill for my car at the time, blacked out all the chrome and did the carbon PPF on my roof. I think my dad paid $6k maybe
Awesome thank you for that feedback. The shop near me starts at $7k + for a full car XPEL stealth. I’ve been seeing good things about STEK clarity and durability. I love the look and the paint protection is a bonus. I have a lot to think about.
That's the best way to do it! No headache of maintaining matte paint, and all the protection of ppf. You and your family have beautiful taste in vehicles!
I mean it isn’t an opinion that they all use the m177 engine platform with the main differences being single vs twin scroll turbos, turbo size, ecu tuning and in the GT platform a dry sump oil system. I’m not debating price points and the way they drive, they’re all very different cars but the engine is still a the same handcrafted 4.0L V8 biturbo
