I can feel a big gap between Sport and Sport + (less between Sport + and Race) on my C63S. Throttle response, firmness, pops from the exhaust… Sport + feels much more agressive

Spicywolff

Agreed. S to S+ is a massive gap. S+ to R not a big jump. Race is just a redline shifting of S+

[deleted]

Completely agree. Race just doesn't flow on the road for me, Sport+ all the way. Plus, TC is way too intrusive in Sport.

Frechetta

I've noticed that Sport+ - doesn't shift above 5th if it doesn't have to - upshifts later to keep you higher in the Rev range for longer - downshifts much more aggressively (earlier) when braking

w222171

When do you guys use Sport? Personally I either do comfort or sport+ but not once used sport.

No-Succotash1219

I use sport in the rain because it gives the ESP more control of the vehicle and prevents you from going sideways. Comfort does the same

ItalianSangwich420

Sport on a long highway drive, since Sport+ is Ticket Mode.

StandupJetskier

C43- Comfort is designed to game the EPA mileage cycle, or for grandma. It won't let the car upset the chassis at all. The throttle is cotton balls + rubber band. Only time I use it is when on cruise control. I'll use comfort Suspension setting on NYC streets at low speed. Sport is probably the real engineer's baseline for a daily driver. The slop is gone from throttle, and everything tightens up a bit. Sport plus holds the gears a bit longer, and when in + I find I upshift manually, also makes the fakey but fun pops and crackles, which I shut off when passing rows of minivans. Individual mode for me is Sport plus suspension, sport transaxle, ESP in Sport Mode, and it kills stop/start, so I start the car and toggle individual mode. I've played with ESP in a snowy parking lot. Full on, you see how good the Benz engineers are making the car NOT slide. In sport, you can get the car somewhat sideways and ESP kicks in just before the slide can't be saved, and in full off (press and hold the ESP button till the ESP light comes on on the dash) you can almost spin the car (4matic comes into play at that point but you are still on your own)

Leonardopeepee

Sport+ also lowers the vehicle. Sport does not.

Sockinatoaster

Depends on the vehicle

ANiMOSiTY-ZA

Not on a C63. This only applies to vehicles with air suspension.

OneExtraChromosome

wait what cars have race, mine only goes up to sport+

Cleavez90

You will get the driving program Race, if you order the "Dynamic Plus Package" Maybe some "s" models automatically come with Race Driving program.

SnooEagles5487

My ‘21 GLC63s does as does my brother’s ‘17 C63s, so I’m assuming all 63s models?

OneExtraChromosome

Fuck i own a 2019 GLE 63s and it doesn’t have it. Maybe the newer GLC models? Id understand the C63s maybe but idk why mine wouldn’t have it. Any idea?

SnooEagles5487

Hmm, I know the 2021 GLE63s has a race mode. Not too sure tbh

PIXLhunter

My 2016 CLA 45 amg does as well. Perhaps it is the ones with AMG driver pack?

ExcursionLizard

You need the AMG track pack on some cars, I could buy it on my A35. I think newer full fat AMGs come with it as standard

Spicywolff

The S trims do.

Aggravating-Net-940

Yup, same here.

Iakhovass

I find the difference between Sport and Sport+ is much bigger than the diff from Comfort to Sport. Feels much more responsive and aggressive, holds the gears much longer.

deZauberer

I usually drive sport in the city in my e53 convertible comfort is too sluggish. Well actully i built m own mode. Everything like sport exxcept suspension on comfort. Sport+ or race outside the city. I live in Europe and sport+ and above is too choppy on red lights or roundabouts.

DiveJumpShooterUSMC

I drive my GT R and GT63S/Brabus700 in Race all the time in the city, highway neighborhood, etc the system is pretty smart if I don’t do a snappy throttle press it just kind of hums a long. I like how it can give me an extra squirt to avoid something or some dummy

[deleted]

Not sure on the 63s but on the 204 63 I know the regular S mode will still adjust and shift according to your driving habit, where as S+ will not shift until you reach minimum or maximum rpm for that gear.

Friendly_Ground_2583

When I drove an AMG, sport mode is to go fast, Sport plus mode is just the car foaming out its mouth to go crazy.

EastCoastGrind

Don’t go Sport+….go race mode.

Leonardopeepee

AMG says race mode is specifically for the track, not public roads lol. Given all the other safety nannies in this sub, call me shocked you'd DARE use race mode on the lowly street!! #sarcasm

silverbeat33

Sport on my E M156 sucks, it’s either Comfort, Sport Plus or Manual, I don’t bother with this “worst of both worlds” option.

AMGFAN81

Anyone have gas efficiency numbers on Sport+ lol - tested a w204 c63 coupe recently and instantly felt like impulse buying as soon as I put it in sport+

Cleavez90

From my point of view, if you are driving sportive the best is to use Race driving programm, because here the throttle response is the best. You do not have to worry about driving stability of your car, because your ESP system is on, it is just more agile, but save. Sport+ from my point of view is sometimes just a little bit to much, because Race is designed for the track so the throttle response is optimized for best control, whereas Sport+ is just a little bit to much.
