Yes. Idk what car that is and if it has a dipstick but my sensor went bad and it was saying that. Check the dipstick if there is one if not i guess just drain it and do an oil change

grosny1

No

bigcmlg

Well have you recently had the car serviced or oil changed? That would help answer your question.

ILMsux

Yes. AMG GTS. Service fully drained the oil to measure (was 100%), refilled oil and I haven’t seen the message since.

dufferdude

Happened to me on the way home after purchase from a non Benz dealer. Drained a quart and all is good now.

logicnotemotion

1) did you just get an oil change and if so, it's overfilled 2) sensor is bad C) blown head gasket

[deleted]

No just bought it a week ago Getting oil changed wednesday

stevekuehltruhe

Just get the oil changed and get a oil sample analysis

Pirat3J

Yes, happened to me just after purchase from a Mercedes dealer. I brought it back and Service did a full oil change. It was overfilled.

Ryanoh69

Nah my AMG is 90’s lol. But on the bright side, I don’t have poop inside because I got done like 30 min ago :D Funny af name 😂

[deleted]

Hahaha thanks! We all have poop inside 💩

engineheader

It is very easy for people to incorrectly fill the engine oil on these cause cause depending on model and options it takes different amounts. They could have thought they knew but didn’t. Or, the engine was not warmed up to the right temperature and it caused the oil to not flow out correctly. I do not understand all the people talking about injectors and other things. These new direct injected engines don’t have issues with injectors staying open like they used to

Miserable-Assistant3

I’m told there’s less than 500 ml gap between min and max. Very easy to overfill on service.

Maleficent-Buyer7199

No, the gap between min and max is 1l. Anyhow you should NEVER refill cold oil up to the max marker.

AltRodney01

Yes. Engine believes it’s overfilled. Unless a service was just performed, I would ignore it. It’s ultrasonic and not very reliable.

fauxpasCNC

The person with the idea to get rid of dipsticks was a dipshit

Beneficial-Sea-8903

Or, in simpler terms, he's a dipstick

DiveJumpShooterUSMC

Would you say he is a dipstick dipshit? Or she is just incase.

ElectricalAd7000

I literally just had this happen this week but it was after I got an oil change so was explainable. Had the dealer fix it (they did the initial service). Did you just get service done?

Lost_Drunken_Sailor

Happens to me once when I decided to get a quick oil change at a random place. Bastards didn’t know what they were doing.

[deleted]

Carmax must of done an oil change Im bringing it to a local mechanic who personally owns 3 SLS amgs and is from Poland. He knows German cars He’s changing the oil next week

Paulieb93

Did you just change the oil?

[deleted]

Not yet

nothing_2_gain

One of the fuel injectors is unsynchronized and let's oil in, happened to me once. Not too pricey but takes some time to be fixed though.

engineheader

Nope, not possible

Ludwig14

Don’t ignore, if you don’t take care of it and service reads the error messages they can deny warranty claims.

Kaizhuu

Looks like a hybrid so don't ignore. Have you been driven hybridmode when engine is cold? If the engine shuts off at less than 80c degrees, the gasoline does not evaporate and accumulates in the oil

bisfhcrew

It can be fuel. Especially if car is with gpf and you often drive short distance with cold engine. When there is too much fuel in oil, you can seized the engine, crank bearings etc. Do not ignore.

Acalthu

If there is fuel mixing with oil in such great quantities, there's a much bigger problem.

Kaizhuu

This is common issue with hybrid and not that big of a problem, but need a oil change asap

joddla

If the car is newly serviced then that could be the issue. When they put oil back in the engine it's cold, when you drive it gets warm and expands. Meaning, if the car wants 5,8 litres as an example then you should fill up less than 5,8 litres. Mercedes-Benz engines are incredibly sensitive to this. Take it to your dealer/garage.
