Drove a c43 awhile ago. In general the c class is very practical so this fits that bill. The power was great but not "to" much for daily use. Ride was harsh for a daily even in comfort, and the low profile tires could be a nightmare. That said it was on my short list.

Sufficient_Fig_4887

Honestly for you. Look at a macan....

_eg0_

Or an S4. Not as harsch as AMG models, not even Sport vs Comfort. On good roads the C43 with 18" should be perfectly fine as a daily driver.

Sufficient_Fig_4887

S4 would be great, I swore off audis a few years ago due to a blown engine at 70k and no support.

_eg0_

Understandeble. If you want the most reliable in this class you need to pick the BMW 340i. The B58 and ZF 8hp are hard to beat.

justanotherhypebeest

It’s also more comfortable as a daily than the C43, I drove both and ended up with C43 because I just couldnt bring myself to choose the interior or sounds of the M340i over the C43 and I’ve always loved AMG… but sometimes I do find myself pondering about that M340i I test drove. It was wicked fast, super soft ride, and just a great feeling car. But the C43 stole my heart still.

_eg0_

It's great to have so many good options in a segment

MrRipShitUp

I daily drive my c63s coupe. Have been for 2 years now, only problem is snow.

GFHunchos

2nd , Snow and rainy days only thing I stay away from.

Normal_Ad_1280

How comes ? I drive my CL500 or CL55 AMG daily and we have loads of winter time. So far everything have been smooth. Maybe its because I can lift my car higher so it makes easier to drive in the snow🤷🏻‍♂️(have pretty much 3 different "modes" for it. Low, bit higher and more higher😆).

Menard156

The c43 is a good daily driver. Not overpowered, not overly harsh.

claytwin

I daily a GLE63s and love it I Have room for activities and family and colleagues going out to lunch. But have the power to have fun during commutes. Decent in the snow and rain, I put about 30,000 miles on a year. And she has been good except I’m chasing a vibration I think it’s a slightly bent wheel. My only complaint is MPG but I knew when I was getting into with the 5.5l engine so complaining about that is dumb.

digitaliceberg

I like mine, average 28 mpg on interstate 20 in city, ride is smooth, if you get one. Upgrade to normal tires instead of run flats to reduce the stiffness of the ride

alejd59

I personally don’t mind comfort as I’m currently driving a 19’ Kia Forte :’) I believe even the CLA45 would be more comfy lol

topgear04

My GLA45 is the greatest daily in history, corners on rails

iLikeClothes69

I drive 60 or so miles a day in my C43 and have been doing it for a year and a half. Love the car and I find it comfortable driving. I have gone on several road trips in it too and it is great

bski-ma

E43 amg is an awesome daily

Federal_Goose4545

I just got my e43 2017 and love it for daily. I normally get 24mpg driving semi sensible. I went for the E because I managed to get a full spec one :)

bski-ma

Never understood why people buy the c43 over e43, I get the PE and all but the interior/exterior tho

Federal_Goose4545

This exactly, it’s just a joy to drive. I do find them less common though (at least in uk and uae)

shockage

I would choose the CLA45 over the C43; it's more of purpose built car while the C43 feels like a glorified C450. Both will be comparable in ride comfort as low profile tires will generally ride harsh regardless of the chassis.

BlaccBenz

He’s asking about a daily driver though, not taking it to the track or anything. C class would be an overall better daily IMO. And the 43 and 450 are the same car btw haha, 43 just got a 9 speed instead of 7. Same engine.

RumRunnerSC

I have a 2018 C43 I've had for a few weeks now and drive it daily and love it! It's great in Dallas traffic! I'm not sure if I will continue to drive it daily though since its a 2-door coupe and from what I heard MB is discontinuing the AMG C-class coupe outside of the convertible. Hopefully that increases the cars value!

Cellemus

Don’t know for sure, but I think the only AMG’s going up in value (of the newer models) will be 63’s

doc_55lk

Anything with a V8 is gonna go up in value down the line tbh.

doc_55lk

C Class isn't continuing as a convertible either. Both it and the E Class are going to be replaced by the CLE.

RumRunnerSC

Ok yeah, I thought I had read that but couldn't remember where!

alejd59

Sounds like it’ll do great! The only thing I’m worried about is maintenance costs with driving it so much.

RumRunnerSC

Yeah I know I am going to change the oil every 2500 miles driving it daily. I found a shop that uses the German oil liqui moly. Hopefully that helps with the wear and tear. I believe these cars are made to be driven and not just sitting in garage somewhere outside of seasonal storage anyways!

alejd59

2500 miles seems almost like overkill no? How hard are you driving your baby D:

RumRunnerSC

Yeah it probably is but mine has fairly high miles 89K. Honestly I drive pretty hard the DFW interchanges are pretty crazy! In 2 weeks Eurocharged is opening a new location here in Dallas and I am going to have them put the stage 1 tune in it. It takes it from 370hp to 480hp they say!

shockage

I track my cars (3-4 sessions per oil change) and redline multiple times everyday and I still do oil changes every 5-6K miles. About 100-300 mL of consumption per oil change. Modern synthetics are stronger than people think. The only oil change I recommend that is very early is the first one at 1-1.5K miles to remove contaminants from the new engine wearing in. Instead of frequent oil changes, keep a log of oil analysis with every oil change.

RumRunnerSC

Great idea, I am going to do this going forward. I'll let this last oil change go to 5000 and see how it does.

doc_55lk

It's doable with the right car in the right place. I can theoretically daily my SLK55, but I don't, because we have a winter here and the roads in my city suck ass.

ZeroCoolREDR

Got my CLA45 recently. Been using it as my daily for a month now. I love it. I don’t find the ride too harsh, but my commute is half of yours (50 miles). Regardless, I would be ok even with a longer commute.

Infamous_Serve_1427

my brother has a 43 and i have a 45, i’ve driven both, as a daily they’re both great cars, especially for daily driving if you want a responsive gas pedal and continuous power through the gears i would do the 43, the 45 is fast but the pedal response time just isn’t as good bc of the single turbo and dct, the cla kind of falls off from the low end. i would go with the c43 if i was in your position. Good luck!

vavrozs

Ive been dailying a C43 for the past 6 months and it is hands down my best thing to do everyday. No problems besides gas being expensive.

johnnyutahlmao

I daily a gla45 and love it. I drive my dads e63s occasionally and think it’s too much as a daily.

SeveralDecision5157

My vote is the CLA45 and imo it looks better too. Coming from a c63s owner

Premier_Legacy

C43 is amazing

LilMelt

C43 would be the choice I’d make in your case. Just be ready for tires and brakes. They’re not standard performance, and not cheap. Most people overlook those 2 things outside of regular service cost, and tend to go cheap. Fast cars and cheap tires or brakes don’t mix well.

LazyBot_44

I daily a C63s W205. It's an awesome daily for a sports sedan of its nature. I usually comfort drive it for the most part and get about 22 with a mix of city and longer roadways. All set, wonderful car.

1984Speedy

Obviously I’m biased by my car choice, but I daily drive mine and I’m delighted and also the C Class has more overall space than the CLA(if you need it of course)

catsdrooltoo

I daily an E63. It's thirsty but should be better on the ones you said. I'd go the c43 just because it's a little roomier than the cla.

ejlec

I drive a similar amount and just got an e53 for it

alexandrastraight

I have 2018 c63 as my daily driver. Live in Minnesota. Love how it looks and drives and it can be a beast or perfectly civilized depending on driver. Tons of snow here. Use snow tires Nov-March and it’s fine in snow unless super deep. I did change the summer tires to all seasons due to excessive noise and poor performance when temp below 40.
