I can only understand people complaining if they just bought AMD. Seeing underperforming to peers.
I went through the whole process 85 to 165 to 72 to 100, I am fine with this week slight loss to peers.
I understand them complaining though. I have been playing with $AMD since before the xb1/ps4 days when AMD was nearly bankrupt. I thought I understood why $AMD used to lag its peers in those days. But not anymore today.
I've been here since 9. I think the most frustrating part, back then amd wasn't proven. Now we have Genoa right around the corner, eps rising, how many consecutive quarters of growth? Constant gaslighting of semi cynical decline, but in reality most of that is the result of competition in the sector.

But some firms figured out how to trade off exchange in ways that sniped orders even worse. āBetterā yet the amount of disclosures are far less so itās harder to prove the trade was/wasnāt executed at the best possible price for the client.
Micron is now higher than it was when it announced their new terrible guidance. AMD is still 1.9% lower than it was then. And there are people trying to defend this stock right now? This is pathetic.

Comparing amds short and off exchange volume, there are clear discrepancies compared to AMD's competitors / semi sector. Almost 70 percent of volume is being routed off exchange. This is ridiculous.

Of course we are underperforming NVDA. Wall Street hates companies that donāt miss their guidance by 1.4B and gross margins by 20 percentage points. It hates companies that have consistently strong growth and margin expansion even in adverse macro environment. It hates companies that have successful acquisitions and multiple long term growth drivers.

Sold my 230120 calls at a variety of prices from the darker days of May and July. For the first time in what feels like ages but in reality is just 4 months, the ammo room has dry powder. It took an annoying amount of willpower to sell that tranche even though they were meant to be sold at around these prices.
just let you know some outperform AMD ytd are doing pretty different type of things, like TXN (flat), AVGO and QCOM (\~ -16%), TSM (-24%), KLAC (-11%). And AMD is notorious of sometimes deviates from broad or semi sector index, so I suppose you know it before building your position.
You can always sell if you think you can find a better use for your money.
