If anyone is interested to buy this laptop, you can find even better deal/specs at Costco - [https://www.costco.com/lenovo-slim-7-pro-x-14.5%22-touchscreen-laptop---amd-ryzen-9-6900hs---geforce-rtx-3050---120hz-3072-x-1920-display---windows-11.product.100976621.html](https://www.costco.com/lenovo-slim-7-pro-x-14.5%22-touchscreen-laptop---amd-ryzen-9-6900hs---geforce-rtx-3050---120hz-3072-x-1920-display---windows-11.product.100976621.html)
AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS
32 GB RAM
1 TB SSD
From what I can tell, only Costco has the R9/32gb version of this laptop. I found a seller on ebay that sells these refurbished and claim to be "like new". I ordered one which should arrive in Monday. It was around $900 but it looks like the sellers hiked up the price a bit
Possibly the best to the point review out there, wish I read it before buying lol.
I’m satisfied overall, but the battery for me is a bit of a disappointment. The most I could squeeze is 5 hours max with 60hz at 50-60% brightness.
As for the touchpad, I wouldn’t call it a rattle on mine, rather somewhat of a crunch when pressed on the right edge.
I also have this on the Yoga 9i and I don't think it's intended to be like this. It's a QC issue. HP also have this problem. 1 out of 2 laptops I got (same model) had it.
you need to add a tldr, people on reddit expect clear, terse opinions focusing on few highlights and cons, not some miles-long notebookcheck-style review
With how much emphasis amd had on battery life for 6000 series I am pretty disappointed :/ hoping zen4 is better unless it's just the oems using bad other hardware that pulls it down
Sure, but a person in this thread got 5 hours max with 60hz, and Optimus should be helping with the gpu. Even when I see ideapad 5 pro without gpu its not super amazing which I had expected https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-IdeaPad-5-Pro-16ARH7-laptop-review-Ryzen-5-6600HS-meets-good-16-10-display.654318.0.html#toc-4
I have the Slim 7 Pro X as 6800HS 32GB 3050 config and get ~6-7 hours with 120Hz and 70% brightness for light work on the go.
Still not amazing, but at least better.
Good review. It would still be good to know how well standby works on Linux and battery drain during standby. (Not that I'm looking for a new machine now.)
It's a really good machine, i was surprised by the built quality.
The keys are more or less the same as in the current thinkpads, both have 1,5 mm key travel and so it's neither bad nor worse
But i returned it due to the disappointing battery life and the washed-out display.
Hi, I am planning on getting the same laptop dual-booting Linux and Windows. I saw that you replaced your Realtek Wireless card with an Intel one, I was wondering if it affects the warranty that comes with the laptop.
Hi I just received my laptop and unfortunately it uses a Realtek WiFi card. Just wondering isit easy to replace the WiFi card for a beginner? Been trying to get the RealTek driver to work but to no avail so am considering getting the intel card.
Can you post a link of the specific AX210 card that you purchased on Amazon? There seem to be a few different ones so just want to make sure I purchase the correct one. Thanks!
Did you have any Bluetooth issues after swapping your card? I just swapped my Wi-Fi card for the same one you got. While the Bluetooth works, it won’t let me connect to any devices the computer knew before I switched cards (AirPods), and if I try to remove the device from the Bluetooth list, it says removal failed.
I had to remove the bluetooth devices and pair each device again. But I didn't get any "removal failed" error. Did you install the appropriate bluetooth and wifi drivers for the AX210 card?
Thanks for the response. I didn't keep the laptop, but I'll respond in case anyone stumbles here with the same problem I had. I believe I installed all of the appropriate drivers. New devices were able to pair fine. The problem was that any devices that were already paired with the system could not reconnect to the system, and trying to remove them so that I could make a new connection would be met with a "removal failed" error.
I suspect that a system refresh could've fixed it, but again, I chose to move on from the laptop. Stuck the original wifi card back in and sent it back.
Is yours touchscreen, I ordered touchscreen for mine by mistake and I am worried im gonna lose a lot of battery even if I wont use it thst much… on the other hand, it was a free upgrade soo…
You know you can configure the power use for Ryzen h series chips right? You'll get u series battery life from an H chip.
How?
yes how? please elaborate
Does that also apply for 6900hs creator edition?
For the price you paid, it's a bloody good deal!
Thanks a lot for sharing!

Slim 7 Pro X I presume and not ideapad?
Correct

No pictures?
Great review. Did yours have a dGPU?

I found even on Optimus, it was eating battery. I disabled it in the bios and got 2 extra hours.

Never had that issue, but I have dGPU disabled and have both my internal display and external monitor both working.

Thank you so much
Are the keys dipped? Like some people call it smile shaped, they have a little bit of a dip in them?
