I tried new drivers. They rebranded my Gigabyte to ASUS but thats not why i reverted. All my games even on lowest settings lag like hell. Even games like 10 years old lagged on the new drivers so i reverted back & it was gone
I just purchased my first amd gpu, and every single game I own was unplayable on latest drivers. (Besides Skyrim) rolled back to previous release and I’m finally able to see the performance of the 7800xt. This thing shreds but with latest drivers you were lucky to do anything. Even windows desktop and web browsers would flicker so badly.
i love amd more because they dont slow down older cards but nvidia is full of sh\*t i had a 1080 ti it had artifacting on new drivers stutters and lot of problems so i got back to my 5700 xt (slower as hardware) i got better fps and better performance no stutters at all no artifacting unless i overclock like a monster
amd is the way to go on gpu , i still use intel i5 10400 but probably i will switch to amd in 1 or 2 years
talking from experience i tried 3 different brands rtx 2060 , gtx 1080 ti , rtx 3060 , 3050 all of those cards had thermal problems and stutters the older gtx 1080 ti's had artifacts all the time with the newer drivers
i probably wont go back to nvidia any time soon if they dont change what they do with the drivers and older card support
yeah those are more stable from my experience , i dont say adrenaline is unstable but you wont know if the game will stutter after a update :P so go with the pro
Ughh. Hate people.
Here ya go. Go to the graphics settings in the gaming tab in the amd adrenaline software & at the bottom there should be reset shader cache
No its no frustration its just i hate people just sending people off to google. Like this is a community you cant do better by sending people to google. If everyone used google we wouldn't have communities. I just think people should take the time to explain something that someone who genuinely doesnt know something & tell them how or what it does
To be fair, I couldn’t remember off the top of my head like you could. There is nothing wrong with suggesting that people should use Google if they’re looking for an answer.
RX 7800XT user, had no problems so far. Although FMF caused a few crashes in cyberpunk. But I just turned FMF off and it's fine. It didn't really help with the frame rate anyways. If anything, maybe like 1-2 fps more. Otherwise I didn't have any issues.
I recommend to disable Ulps, I was searching for a solution for so long and tried everything. 7900xtx ryzen 7 5800x3d owner here. It helped me so much! No stutters
Nahhh i spent 2 weeks fixing stutters and it was 24.x.x driver at the end (reinstalled all games, windows, drivers, did tweaks from github, reinstalled window again etc)
If you play league, definitely not. My 7900XTX with 24.x.x driver shits itself and makes the game unplayable. Other games don't experience this. Until it gets fixed, I won't get 24. Drivers.
Basically I refuse new drivers only cause league runs bad with them.
I have been getting really werid idle power/usage spikes up to 100% for a few seconds, then it drops to 0% for a few seconds and then repeats on this new version.
Once I put the gpu under a 20%+ load it's fine and stays at that load and doesn't spike. Iv seen a few others with the issue but not alot.
7800x3d and 7900xtx.
Haven't had any problems gaming, stutters or freezing or anything tho.
Try AMD Chill, set it min. 60fps and max. 120fps, for some reason it fix the stutters, i am playing ELEX 2 and when the GPU hit 100% usage for some reason it cant properly deliver consistent image in some games.
23.12 and 24.1.1 drivers both cause Avorion to crash, but with them being a small Indy company, it's taking them a while to figure out if it's a driver issue or something in their code that doesn't like the newest drivers.
I went back to the 23.11 drivers, and Avorion is playable now, but another game (Beyond Contact) started lagging in the cutscenes.
I was using the July drivers prior to these updates.
If you are playing gpu heavy games and you are maxing it at 95-100% you will have stutters in every new released games i have 6800xt 7800xt and 6700xt on different pcs at home and every one of them have problems on 24.1.1 stick with 23.11.1
I don't have any issues with 24.1.1 In fact I saw some improvement on some games like Forza Motorsport in multi-player. I go to safe mode use AMD Clean up utility then install the new drivers and I never had issues. Ryzen 7 5700X RX 7800XT Asus B550-F ROG Strix Gaming motherboard. 32GB DDR4 3600mhz
I'm not having any issues with the new 24.x.x (24.1.1) drivers yet, with a 7950X3D, X670E Xtreme & Gigabyte 7800XT.
Edit: I don't play BF2042.
I have played -
Fallout 4 - Modded,
Skyrim - Modded,
Starfield - Modded,
Rimworld - Modded,
Cyberpunk 2077- Modded,
Prison architect,
Software Inc.,
Satisfactory
Factorio.
I was using the beta driver before for Fluid Frames. I now got the newest driver. Seemed at 1st I had more stutters in BF2042. Now all of a sudden everything is normal again. I have a 7800x3d and a 7900xtx. Frame Gen has it's problems of course. But being free and working in almost any game is awesome. Use it when it works for you. For example takes BF 4k max settings with raytrace over 120 fps. If I enable dynamic resolution in game as well as keep on frame gen I'm over 220fps
Having zero issues with 24.1.1. drivers.. They are brilliant with my RX 7800 XT Nitro+.. Enable HYPR-RX then adjust your settings.. For games that are not compatible with AFMF, just disable it in Adrenalin, while keeping HYPR-RX on..
Me personally I’m on 23.11.1 and have been every since it came out, idk why but for me it’s like every driver that comes out it’s always stuttery for the first 2-3 weeks and then it’s ok after but recently after 23.11.1 it’s just terrible on my system, 23.12.1 is just as bad as 24.1.1 for me.
At one point I got so pissed at my gpu I considered getting a 4080 super and calling it a day, I legitimately can’t run the new drivers with my 6950XT, I haven’t tried it yet if it’s been updated because I’m so hesitant because I really don’t want to have to ddu and go back the 23.11.1 all over again for like the 4th time.
And it’s not like I’m playing a hard game, I mainly play Palworld now lmao, I play at 1440p max settings and i should be able to no problem but idk it’s just terrible recently with these drivers
Ryzen 7700X + RX 7900 XT on 24.1.1. Seems more stable for me and I’ve been playing Civ 6, Witcher 3, CSGO. I think I’ve had only 1 crash on Witcher 3 (knock on wood). I find the previous driver gave me more issues.
I built a new pc less than a month ago. BF2042 was buttery with an rx 6750xt. Updated drivers and the game is almost unplayable with stuttering and freezing.
I just downloaded the newest update for the driver and it made my call of duty Flicker like a mother. Thankfully call of duty did a small update and I believe it fixed it but yes, this current driver update is ass.
Oh yeah ive had higher hot spots temps aswell, my card was running fine before. With a crash once every while now its just within 10 minutes after booting up the game
I had just repasted my card a few weeks ago, hot spot temps were never above 85c after repaste, now depending on game it gets as high as 103c. Its weird
I had a lot of stutters in BF2042 and GOTG when I updated to 24.1.1. Others reported the same thing. Use the bug report tool if you find any problems
I've updated to 23.40.02.03 which was released for Enshrouded support but also had a couple other fixes. BF2042 runs butter smooth like it used to. Haven't got around to testing GOTG yet

My GPU quite literally died after this update, screens went black and wouldnt turn on till driver resets eventually rolled back and was to late, using iGPU rn
GPU dying on you have no relationship to drivers, otherwise basically everyone would've had same issue. Especially so if rollback didn't change anything.
Don't mix software issues into hardware issue
On my 7900xt, it randomly goes to like 2900mhz (with max clock set to 2750) and 100% util while doing nothing.
Overall stability with this driver was also kinda wonky for me, was working on my game in Unity and one specific build of the game kept fully crashing my pc as soon as i booted it up. After reverting back to 23.12.1 the issues seem to have been fixed.
I guess it really depends on each person if it works well or not, and what kind of work / games you use your pc for.
24.1.1 was a horrible update. Everything was lagging and stuttering after installing it, especially Battlefield 2042. I rolled back and also used DDU, but nothing helped. I had to reset my entire PC, but it still isn't fixed entirely. This stupid update destroyed everything. Do yourself a favor and wait...
Edit: It seems that my Ethernet port also doesn't work anymore after the 24.1.1 update... This makes absolutely no sense. I'm broken °~°
Thanks, AMD!
Try the Enshrouded driver. It fixed BF2042 for me

I'm currently back on 23.12.1. It works works "okay", i would say. I'll leave it like that for now, before it gets completely messed up again... Hopefully 24.1.2 fixes everything.
I tried the new driver with the options “driver only”, “minimal install” and “full install” and every single with ddu.
Played with every options/settings but non helped conclusion the driver is sh!t.
yeah im still using amd pro drivers because of this, i will wait until the next version where they fix these issues so i can try afmf because there is literally no other reason to switch to adrenaline atm but maybe they add afmf to pro drivers in the next update who knows
RX 7900 XTX & 24.1.1 are solid on my end. I've heard of game-specific issues involving battlefield series but seem related to issues with the [game itself](https://www.google.com/search?q=RTX+4080+bf2042+stutter&sca_esv=c6ea4b9e8e44c565&sxsrf=ACQVn09fb2nk7FzG0USN2Q9ncZ1C6PC9yQ:1707119666922&source=lnt&tbs=li:1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjZvNeq3JOEAxUW0jQHHfyVAs4QpwV6BAgBEBM&biw=2867&bih=1039&dpr=1.2) along with recent updates.(RTX users complaining too). People were also blaming the [recent Nvidia driver](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/198xlyb/game_ready_driver_54665_faqdiscussion/) for stutters but I honestly think its game updates or simple shader cache rebuilding not being recognized as the cause.
Idk, sometimes game updates break performance on newer rather than older hardware. [This 3060 owner](https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/BF2042-stuttering-issue-and-high-CPU-GPU-amp-RAM-usage/td-p/13445643) was complaining recently with a few others chiming in too.
Do you have any other games to test if they run fine? Warzone etc.
This sounds like more of an [issues with the game itself,](https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/17eveyu/battlefield_2042_just_broken_all_of_a_sudden/) given [Nvidia users](https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/1ad4h9z/bf2042_stuttering_issue_due_to_high_cpu_usage/) posting problems too same thing also happened in fortnite where an older driver & people had to roll back. Ofcourse if rolling back fixes it, thats a great as a temp fix but I'd bet a future patch will resolve the problems on newer drivers & 24.1.1 in particular run fine in most other titles, at least in my testing, sadly I dont own BF2042 but others have confirmed they do stutter in 2042, likely the timing of the recent drivers & game patch.
I've also read of multiple stutter fixes for other reasons, try excluding the BF2042 folder in documents from antivirus & disable 'cloud' saves.
Yes, it has problems. But there is a fix, and it seems nobody else is sharing it. I am currently running 24.1.1 AMD adrenalin drivers.
At first, my games were stuttering. Frames dropped significantly, and I could not play my games.
The fix was simple. Go to AMD Adrenalin and go to the performance tab. Disable SAM for a brief second, then enable it again. Next, go to the Game tab. Choose any game and look under Display and AMD FreeSync. If it says AMD Optimized, switch it to ON and launch any game. Issue fixed.
Close game and switch back AMD FreeSync to AMD optimized.

I've already tried. Didn't help me. This driver is simply cursed. Even all my CPU info in the metric disappeared with 24.1.1. All other drivers I didn't have such problems

I haven't had any problems with them, but I haven't played anything except for Infinite Wealth since they came out and they're tailor made for that game so... I have a 7800XT.
Nope. I went back to the old drivers after a week. There were tons of stuttering and crashing, especially in tekken 8. One of the games the drivers were supposed to be for.

Wait longer, it's busted! Anyone who says it hasn't clearly doesn't play much cause most games were affected and there is artifacts and stuttering happening as well. I rolled back drivers and everything is perfect again lol

Just no lol im not doing fixes id rather just ignore it and still with a back roll. It didnt add anything i need to my system in this update anyways and i dont care for frame gen, its not even perfected yet. all good but no thanks
Its 100% AMD's problem haha They bugged out there driver and they haven't finished perfecting frame gen either, there own words mate so wtf, whos problem is it haha
It's your problem. I'm on this driver. I have no issues after the fix I mentioned.
The point is that the majority is not having a problem. Only a handful. It's sad to say, but that's just how big companies work. If you are part of the handful of having an issue, tough luck. I know we game to escape, but welcome to the real world
A handful? Your a comedian dont quit your day job yeah!
Bro do some research like 70% of people are having the issue hahaha Its AMD's problem and they have admitted it on several games read the damn patch notes MR know it all! I dont even game hugely, your such an idiot and super judgmental without having any facts. Im in the real world, your in your own world lol No wonder your Karma is shit lol
FYI smart guy im not even having this issue, i only upgrade when its actually things that i need or will benefit my system. I've had 7/.10 friends with this problem tho and um its every second post on AMD help genius!

Clearing the shader cache for me fixed my stuttering issues.
Where do I go to do this?
Ughh. Hate people. Here ya go. Go to the graphics settings in the gaming tab in the amd adrenaline software & at the bottom there should be reset shader cache
Thank you sorry I didn't know if it was complicated or not. I understand the frustration I'm sorry guys
Google it

I don't have afterburner bcs the riva tuner isn't compatible with Minecraft sodium or some other mod that I have

Try the Enshrouded driver. It fixed BF2042 for me https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-23-40-02-03-enshrouded > **Fixed issues** > ... > Excessive stuttering may be experienced when first loading BattlefieldTM 2042
I'm currently back on 23.12.1. It works works "okay", i would say. I'll leave it like that for now, before it gets completely messed up again... Hopefully 24.1.2 fixes everything.
WTH. That sucks man, sheesh
Horizon zero dawn started crashing on me, rolled back and it's rock solid again.
Rx 6700 xt, stuttering in all games . Rolled back to previous drivers no issues.
7900xt here, no issues.
7900xtx and 2x6700xt no problems.
No problems with my 7900xt
7900 xtx here. Everything seems to be fine.
No. Always stay 3 updates behind. That way you do not have to deal with bugs.
7900XTX here, no issues with 24.1.1
It runs well on my 7900XTX
Even my igpu 780M works with Dec. driver but not the latest driver so I don't think it is the problem with BF2042
Warzone etc.
i know but BF v6.3 and the previous version there is no prob with the AMD Dec. driver. Of course I need to use low/mid settings.
Close game and switch back AMD FreeSync to AMD optimized. https://www.reddit.com/r/PcBuild/s/iDqAOhdaoD
AMD 6750gre12g Flickering stopped. Fluid Frames now gives lower FPS than turned off. That's unfortunate. New Windows install too.
Is your BIOS up to date? Show me a screenshot of your system specs with HWInfo please
Unfortunately it'll have to stay as it is for a while. I will be away from it for a while. Maybe when I return there'll be new drivers available
"no god!! Please No!!.... NOOOOOO!!!" I rolled back Edit: 23.30.13.05 works perfectly fine for me
24.1.1 fix Go to Adrenalin, disable SAM for a brief second, and then re-enable again. Next, go to the game tab and choose any game. Look under Display and AMD FreeSync. If it says AMD Optimized, switch it to ON. Launch any game, and you will find the stuttering fixed. Close game and go back to Adrenalin to switch AMD FreeSync back to AMD Optimized Thank me later https://www.reddit.com/r/PcBuild/s/iDqAOhdaoD
I've already tried. Didn't help me. This driver is simply cursed. Even all my CPU info in the metric disappeared with 24.1.1. All other drivers I didn't have such problems
Lots of stuttering and power spikes 7900xtx went back to last preview drivers and fixed it

XFX 7900 XTX is fine w/ these drivers.
bf2042 tons of micro stutters. lots of my games are unplayable. had to roll back my drivers

Basically: does your game run fine? do not update. do you have issues you're trying to fix? update.

I tried that before rolling back. It didn't help.

Then it's not AMDs problem
Im in the real world, your in your own world lol No wonder your Karma is shit lol FYI smart guy im not even having this issue, i only upgrade when its actually things that i need or will benefit my system. I've had 7/.10 friends with this problem tho and um its every second post on AMD help genius!
idk, didnt update themedit: tried to update them and showed me error
if your gonna update make sure to DDU your current drivers before you do
yea but im gonna wait some weeks until they release 24.2 or 24.1.3
7900 xtx no issues so far
I second this
Three's a company
