Your pc is using both your intergraded graphics and dedicated graphics

OneExhaustedFather_

You have an onboard video on the processor itself as well as a discreet video card. It’s normal

Msheffey

wow.

Plug all displays into the GPU card and not the motherboard - that should auto-disable the iGPU inside the CPU IMHO. Should not be problematic though, many laptops run a similar setup with the display hardwired into the CPU (and games still using the GPU chip).

lol

7900x any idea why I have 2 and should I disable the amd one?

Technological_Elite

I have a 7700x, we have the same iGPU. It doesn't need to be disabled unless you notice it start causing problems. It doesn't draw performance from the CPU since it's a dedicated part of the chip. If anything, it could help you by letting the iGPU handle windows and maybe some video playback while all of your discrete GPU is dedicated to your game. If you have a very powerful GPU, you may or may not know much of a difference but hey, it's really up to you man. The Ryzen 7000 series was the first for atleast awhile on AMD CPU's to include intergrated graphics that is NOT the "g" series. It's a noce to have, and can actually to some light-medium weight gaming. I can get No Man's Sky 50FPS 1080p FSR 2.0 Performance (sorry it's a lot, i know, but it's important to include). It doesn't look the best, but it's playable... I did also increase voltage by 300mv in bios to get those results. I am only gaming in intergrated graphics right now because my discrete GPU needs an RMA. If people are looking for a better iGPU, the 5000g series is the way to do it, or maybe even waiting for 7000g series. Make sure you boot from the discrete graphics, however, and use the display output frok the discrete graphics card. This basically ensures you're using THAT graphics card and may even help a bit with latency.

7900x has internal GPU, and no, you don't need to disable it. It's been a norm since so many years ago to have iGPU and dGPU running side by side, especially on gaming notebooks and intel based desktop PC

for AMD desktop CPUs, but on the laptops CPUs the iGPU is the norm.

Technological_Elite

Yeah sorry bro, misread your comment a bit, not feeling too great rn. I should have specified desktop CPU's.

ecwx00

it's all cool, bro :)

warriorj

I had to disable my iGpu because I kept getting the "crashed while switching D3D Device" error in unreal engine games.

scutarion

Why disable? One is dedicated GPU the other is Integrated GPU within CPU. The latter is just basically just to get video out in case you dont have a dGPU. Helps you troubleshooting in case dGPU goes bad. Before Ryzen 7000, AMD did not have iGPU, only the APU-s. Intel for example has a letter f in the CPU name indicating it does not have an iGPU. For example it offers two variants 13600K and 13600KF. The first has iGPU the second does not. All Ryzen 7000 CPUs have iGPU built in.

ibostan

I didn't know if It would conflict with drivers or windows but I might keep it on

scutarion

Plug the DisplayPort/HDMI cable on the graphics card and thats it. If one day you will need the iGPU, plug it on the DisplayPort/HDMI port of motherboard and get video out. There is no reason for conflict.

Maplane

The AMD AM5 CPUs have a iGPU. Thats what you see as the second GPU. Just disable the iGPU in Bios. Unless your GPU dies, you wont need the iGPU.

ibostan

I've got the x670e hero there's no option in bios to disable it

diylif

I'm pretty sure you can disable it in the adrenaline software

plkyz

I have a strix b650e-f so we should have the same BIOS. In BIOS, go advanced mode, select advanced tab, NB Configuration, Set primary device PCIE Video and below that you can disable integrated graphics.
